In our 14 day JR Pass Trip, we ventured all the way to Kyushu, the southern most Island of Japan. Kagoshima is a city in southern Kyushu. It’s about 1 hour bullet train ride from Hakata.
Besides the natural beauty of the active Sakurajima volcano, Kagoshima is famous for it’s own local cuisine. We dined at Roppakutei having Kurobuta Shabu Shabu or Berkshire pork hot pot. The chicken sashimi is also a unique disk at this restaurant.
