Our first stop is Matsushima Fish Market where you can get local produce on the ground floor live seafood like eels crabs and fishes upstairs we decided to have breakfast at a famous local restaurant right next to the beautiful Matsushima Bay the tempura tuna and oysters are a must order items
The place is called Santori Chaya 10 out of 10 as a foodie we just can’t stop our search for snacks Matsushima is famous for it’s oysters and one popular snack is the curry oyster croquette at Pensee we bought our scenic cruise tickets before walking around and when it’s boarding time
We headed over to our cruise we got the standard tickets but they have a fancy first class upgrade the whole one hour sightseeing is amazing the bonus tip is to get some yummy food and drinks like us before boarding subscribe and turn on the notification bell to get my 16 days
Detailed itinerary for the entire north of Japan I have to say the cruise is wonderful so relaxing and comfortable with a cool sea wind and calm waves we passed by so many unique islands of various shapes and sizes notable islands include Kanejima and Niohjima after the cruise
Of course we have to get more oysters we got this massive one at Genzou Seafood Grill store if you are on a budget you can view the famous Matsushima Bay from Godaido Temple without needing to take the cruise another excellent viewpoint is Fukuraijima island cross the Red Bridge to get the stunning
Views of the bay view is bae finally before heading back make sure to visit the serene Zuiganji Cave Ruins while heading to Zuiganji temple and visit at Entsuin Buddhist temple I know this place is amazing in the autumn season we also got a recommendation to visit the best dessert place in Sendai
At Hikoichi you get so many choices of modern traditional fusion desserts surrounded by picturesque decorations a koi pond, and so much more you know it’s 100% a 10 out of 10 legit place if you need to use Google Translate to order or just show them a picture of my YouTube footage
Best dessert place so far another best hidden gem in Sendai is Kuranosho make sure to book to sit in front of the open fire charcoal grill this izakaya experience is a must whenever you are in Japan order the Pacific Saury or Sakana no Shioyaki yakisoba is a must
If you don’t want just plain rice but skip the ox tongue or gyutan here the No. 1 must order is the seared Bonito once ordered sit back and enjoy the culinary performance feel the heat right in front of you and flavour that amazing smoked fish 100% 10 out of 10 recommending Kuranosho
Being proper food enthusiasts we couldn’t help but utilise our second stomach for supper again at Tanya Zenjirou that we visited yesterday the ox tongue here is just on another level tomorrow we will visit the famous tourist attraction in this region see you tomorrow
