More more suitable for the for the um for the Stream So as always um hello to everyone I’ll be saying hello as we go along trying to do things a little bit differently but um just quick reminder if you haven’t liked this video please like before we said actually Haven got

Channel out by donating or by liking the the the um the Stream and I want to remind everyone that if you um at an inja monkey guy as it says up there or you simply write question you’ll get my attention and that’s what I’m going to start doing now um so

Apologies if I don’t specifically um answer or say anything unless it’s a question five more days awesome n that’s nothing at the pub I’m not surprised at all that you’re at the pub hey thank the 7eleven power is there hi from India only one nights is in the house also awesome awesome

Awesome literally rocking earthquakes Tremors mildly shaking the hotel and underfoot for the past 3 days wow I mean it is Japan after all that is basically Japan you’ll end up in the golden Guy golden guy if you end up with um following Dingle okay there we go first one I will

Arrive in Tokyo for the first time in Japan in May the 20th to May the 28th four days in Tokyo four days in Osaka and um Kyoto um so you got eight days is it doable absolutely um is it it’s it’s totally up to you how you want to do

Your trip I’ve said this a million times it is over a week um and thanks to the incredible um tra you know train infrastructure that Japan has it means you can get from Tokyo to Kyoto um in and Osaka in in um you know under

Three hours so it is very doable now my suggestion is that if you’re going to do that you might want to spend maybe the first three days in in um in in Tokyo and then spend two days um maybe another 3 days in Tokyo sorry in in Osaka and

Kyoto choose one base and and um use that base to to visit either so if you if you base yourself in Osaka then you can do day trips to Kyoto and vice versa and then the last two days I would go back and um complete my trip in Tokyo

That’s what I would do so um um yeah I will do five days actually in Tokyo and three days um shared between Kyoto and um and Osaka but um it is all very doable just be aware that um when you have limited time it definitely means

That you need to be better prepared and know what you want to see Daniel has subscribed AR thanks for subscribing Daniel awesome you’re very welcome for my help I’m glad I can help um any more questions here we go thanks now I’m starting to get the questions what’s up big time all right

Right two more days I have a week and a bit week and a half before I go which is awesome I’m really looking forward to it have I ever thought of having a banana as a as a mascot absolutely I think about it every single night before I go to

Bed toku banana is awesome hey everyone five more days also wow wow wow wow wow yo yo hello ninja monkey every everyone’s ex this is the cool thing about this um this Sunday stream I get this positivity you know the vibe of everybody that’s about to

Go you’re the only person well you just come from Japan dude and um I’ve been watching by the way anybody interested in watching some nice long walking videos check out Japan Japan Ean I’ve been watching his his latest one it’s very calming it’s very chill I like it a

Lot and um it seems like you had an incredible time and great weather also I won’t okay okay ding go dying go I will B I will not waste it on um on cakes um are are um hotels increasing from last year well I can tell you from

My experience that yes I’ve noticed that there’s been an increase even with the the Yen um you know being weak and everything i’ i’ have definitely noticed an increase for my summer trip that I’m starting to plan I’ve well I’ve already booked one of my hotels but noticed everything’s a

Good 20 to 30% more expensive and and I’m talking about in pounds not in Yen so it is it is what it is I guess I can make it up by eating cheap so to get from Narita to to hucho heard that there is a sky access that

Takes you there while switching trains from Narita to hamamasu well um you’d have to I’m not very sure about that one maybe um one of my my U moderators can look in Google Maps and answer that question for Victor I know that from haneda to um ham you can get

The the um the the mono rail directly um usually from Narita usually it goes like wo um sort of NE sort of um Direction but I don’t know if where it goes after that cuz I usually get off at weno so going to Japan in April doing the

Monster Hunter 20th time frame cool do you know a website that tells you events or popups events like this I I just use Google to be honest um I know that Japan Japan guide is pretty good Japan guide and even Tokyo Chapo is pretty good for

For for events um and for finding out finding things that you need to find so hey Fang with showing off all the uh awesome emojis oh this is um moving without me hello from from Norway going to Japan in 8 days I wonder if it’s possible to

Order sh Canon tickets from Hiroshima to Kyoto from another station like Tokyo for example yes absolutely um no problem there Griff pardon you can um book your tickets anywhere from any Jr any Jr station um in advance so that’s a good idea to do that also um doable lots of lots of travel

Yeah but um diing go this is the thing some people you know they only have eight days so I understand why they doing this I understand why two and a half weeks wow STP to virus do I need to do something special now um if there’s a I

Don’t know I mean when it comes to medical advice I I don’t tend to give it out because I’m not a uh like a physician or or a doctor um other than stay alert and and try to do your research in that regard in that regard I think there’s always viruses there’s

Always things going around like last year there was a there was a whole monkey pox um thing you know like everybody was a little bit worried about monkey pox um with even rumors of the borders closing down because of monkey pox but it is what it is any particular Shibuya restaurant

Recommendations you know guys I want to say that I’m probably a terrible person for recommendations of restaurants because I don’t really tend to to um go to a specific restaurant I am definitely in the go out explore the city and find something along the way sort of sort of

Um like that’s the way that I do do things and whenever I go to a specific restaurant it’s because some of my friends have told me to meet up there um to be honest um I I honestly think that that’s the best way to do Japan there

Especially in in Tokyo Shibuya is full of restaurants and um sometimes being locked into a specific restaurant can actually slow you down and it can actually deter you or like take you down a path that might take you far away from the places that you want to be um there

Are plenty of guides and plenty of other social media people that um that talk about restaurants not to say that um I wouldn’t advise or recommend some places that I like for example Dingle took me to tap and baby in um in Shinjuku to become one of my favorite places TR koku

Another one of my favorite places um Nationwide um so there are some chains that I do do like um visiting but overall just get lost and find something interesting and tell me tell me what you find um no questions just saying hi okay no problem dude no problem if you pushing

Canel and Reserve tck but ticket but miss the train do you know whether you can just get onto the next one um you’d you’d need to go back and sort that out really your your shin Canen ticket is the shin Canon ticket for that specific um train

Now in theory I guess that you could get onto that train the next train and get off um basically get off and get out because who I don’t think there’s any limit to how long you can spend in a station and who’s to say that you’ve um got out of

The got out you know 20 minutes before gone to the toilet and not exited the St the station um but generally you should ask unique restaurants there are there are so many this is what I mentioned there’s so many especially themed ones you know too many hi from the UK how much Japanese

Should I learn ooh how much Japanese acceptable just to use a translation app um I think that there are certain I mean I’m not like fluent in Japanese I can get get away with certain things I think the common ones would be like doesa which means wear

Likees wear’s a toilet that would be a good one um another another good one would be for the to know the the common things like the station eki which which is station ekes where’s the station like thank you um sorry um excuse me um and then a very

Good one is G which is what that’s that so you point you say got it got it got it got it that that so you can point at the restaurant um how much is it so I think the very very very simple things ultimately you will have to communicate somehow and

Just knowing those words not going to get you away from not um being able to use translation apps however I think generally um and I say this quite often Japanese people know more than what they say they do there’s a difference if you ask a Japanese person do you speak English

They will say no if you ask them do you understand English they might say a little because it’s a different question do you speak English no I don’t have the confidence to speak to speak English do you understand English might be yes I understand a little bit of what you’re

Saying but I’m not going to um answer you um very well in English if that makes any sense hey Mark thank you so much Mark for The super chats awesome let me just add you mark to my list and um I don’t know why this is gone thanks thank you dude another big day have a good one I need a too banana plushy you’re right I do absolutely do is there even

One back at toy April the 1 shoot me three more weeks of straight travel dude I’m going to be there that week specifically so yes yes yes 100% um I want to film a a drinking stroke eating um evening sort of thing and now I found

The right person to do it with so have day kind of what should I do check out my kazawa guide um Daniel because I was very very privileged I’ve got two two canaza guides I’ve actually changed the thumbnail of one of them today just before this stream and I’ve realized

That the thumbnail that I put doesn’t appear in the video and I hate it when people do that so I need to remind myself to change the thumbnail do you have any suggestions for day trips from Kyoto other than Nara or Osaka yes definitely from uh um Kyoto

You could potentially do a day trip to to Hiroshima um it’s less than two hours to get there number one you could go to kinos onen um which is a really nice um area also you could go to uji also which is um which is also very very close to

Kyoto very easy to get to and it’s a green tea sort of capital of of of Japan I’d say you know the matcha Capital um everything is matcha it’s it’s got beautiful temple in fact the temple that I think is at the back of the 1,000 or

The 10,000 year note I can’t remember which one um is there in in um is in uji uh apart from that you could go to Kobe which is very close by um and that you could even go to Himi I even have a um a

Video guide that I did back in 2018 I do recommend everybody to go go back to my to my um cring I call them my cringe catalog cringe years of um me creating content before 20 like before 2020 um I call those videos a cringe cringe cringe years but check them

Out the one in Tokyo just eat like you at the comini well sometimes sometimes it’s okay but there’s so much good food in Japan don’t limit yourself to the comini guys all right any more questions I am I am specifically looking out for questions guys don’t forget at me or or big question

Um let’s see thanks Japan japal Chan for helping me out with the answers ninja monkey just two more weeks until I’m back in Japan well I’m there in a week and a half dude that’s like what is that my fault no I hope not there is an incredible katsu restaurant in akiabara

That one is definitely worth the 20 minute queue awesome okay okay okay DKK thank you so much I don’t know I don’t know um he sapoto thanks for the effort helps I love sapoto I think sapoto is a great place to to um explore by the way let me just add you to

The to the um how do I do this ion i o n okay I O N there you go AR thanks so much dude any more questions if I miss any question I do apologize guy do ninja monkey guy do you know if you need a time pass to get into

Nintendo World Harry Potter World yes you do need a time pass there’s various way various ways of getting a time pass one of them is by getting the the um the fast track um paying the extra or the other one is getting to the to getting

To the um to the theme park early and um getting it There or sapo thanks for the effort helps a lot Rola brings virus oh my God hey by the way for those um food options I do have a map on my Discord shout out to the Discord by the way and um there’s there’s a there’s a um

Channel which is like um locations or something like that there’s a there’s a live map where um viewers like yourselves can add your favorite places and you can access it and see if there’s anything nearby you which is a great idea I think so ja add that guza bar to that map

Please I agree it’s better to just go to food places as and when H yeah yeah yeah yeah tell Ste baby has a live stream now are you freaking kidding me are you kidding me dude you’re going to have to send me the link later is there any way to get a physical

Icy card still partly because I prefer a physical pass and it makes a nice souvenir and you can still get the the visit Japan or the passim passport which are the visitor versions quite easily to be honest um at the the at the airports and also atet Sam and lots of stations

Information very easy to access um just searching on Google now getting an actual speaker card the last I checked yes you could get a speaker card from the Jr East travel um counters which is where you would go traditionally to to swap your your um Jr pass now saying

That um I must also be very very clear in saying that the information that was in the website just a week and a half ago has disappeared they’ve to the the website the website is completely different now and the information that clearly said that you could get the the

The um s the normal s um has disappeared so we need to we need to also bear that in mind I will be investigating this or maybe some some of you who are there or go there very soon or in the next or before me can let me know so that I can

Update people that would be pretty cool do you feel out the customs and exit forms or use travel Japan web I use travel Japan web QR always I’ll be in Kyoto during golden week will it be painful due to the crowd stressful or could it be enjoyable I

Think it’s going to be painful I’m going to be honest especially to Kyoto Victor is going to be very very crowded um but um I don’t know man I don’t know what to say to that one just make the most of it you’re in Japan ultimately you know like you’re in freaking Japan

I saw a report plus tourist bands other Japan hopes and dreams slowly diminishing um well okay first of all like I mentioned before the um the TR ban is only for a very specific area in guon and I don’t think it’s S as such a big deal as

People are making out to to be um I hope that I wasn’t too clickbaity with my last video but um there is a tourist ban on certain private alleys and um and streets in um Inon area which is quite a broad area to be honest now from my experience and I

Was going to I made a short today sort of about this and I was going to add this but I’m going to make another short about this about my experience um you know walking around guon and my experience has been that I have walked around and I’m

Always very respectful and I always make sure that I don’t take photos or video in the areas that specifically have the signs up that say No No cameras um regardless of whether they are real rules or not real rules I I will respect the sign if there’s a sign but I have

Been caught out many many times when I’m traveling around and walking around the the the area of gon where I have been taking video I’ve been taking photos and then I exit you know onto the main street and I see the sign as I’m exiting because I’ve literally walked in via a

Side street that didn’t have a sign or I didn’t see a sign so it’s going to be interesting how they police this it’s going to be very interesting how they they really really enforce it and we’ll have to wait and see to be honest me personally I think that if if they want

It to be private they have they should just put freaking Gates and make it difficult to get in you know a sign is going to be very difficult yeah let’s not panic we don’t need to panic I mean this is a channel that went through Co together we I was

The first channel if not the only channel that was pretty much reporting on covid and and doing Japan updates now there’s like 20 different Japan update channels out there um but I I think I’m quite confident in saying that I was the OG and here there’s no

Panic from laxenburg hey I will come to Tokyo in May and I want to go to the Tumo tournament it’s better to buy tickets online online or advanc in the same day look everything in Japan at this stage with the popularity and the amount of tourists that go into the

Country I would say book things in advance as much as you can like if you have a set itinerary which I recommend that you have a semi set itinery um within reason anyway that you do actually um get those tickets in advance now I’m not very sure about specifically

Like tickets for Sumo but you can always use my cluk um um QR code etc for finding attraction tickets um and even booking hotels Shin Canen train tickets Etc um day trips I I’m airm believer that there’s a certain time and a place for a for a for a guided tour and

Sometimes it is worth getting you know doing doing a day trip with with a guided tour but a lot of the times you can do it on your own so so m s covers it all lots of questions here I’m going to skim through

Them um I know I will be buying a lot of souvenirs what’s in Japan it is smarter to bring an empty luggage or buy one in Japan if so where can I buy the cheapest luggage was there good question actually um it’s up up to you completely I

Usually carry a luggage inside of my luggage if that makes any sense that’s what I do um but I’ve also in the past bought myself like a like a not necessarily a suitcase but a like a duffel bag to take things back back to to take things B

Back is there any way to get a physical icy card I’ve just explained that right now so um I’ll move forward with that uh any more questions questions questions remember guys if you want to ask a question at ninja monkey or ninja monkey guy write question before the question to get my

Attention organize m p you to as good and cost effective or is it better to do it yourself um from my experience and I haven’t really spoken about this too much but I’ve done it both ways I’m I’m going to be completely honest I did a

Mount Fuji tour um and I am totally honest I did a m food tour with cl um probably 20 18 something like that but a long time ago but it I made the mistake of um you know being a noob or 2017 and um I booked a Mount Fuji to to

The fifth station and um on the way back back we literally went to the fifth station walked around you know that that area and then on the way back we stopped in a really beautiful Len which is lovely um really really nice we might have stopped in hon if I remember right

For a short amount of time and then that was it for me I just chose the wrong tour I didn’t get what I thought I was going to get now I went to kabucho on my own or with a friend and it was lovely and it was really good really nice to do

On my own with my friend but it was also incredibly stressful because that area does require potentially to get the most of it you do need like a car um we stayed overnight which meant that it was much easier for us we rented some bikes and

We were able to sort of see the the area and not everything that we wanted to and we ended up absolutely exhausted after the amount of cycling so had I if I had to do it again I think I would actually choose get a tour um or or spend the

Night you know so that you can do it at your own pace and um and rent a car or rent a bike or whatever or um Do It um with a tour so that’s that’s what I would would do and cl have tours yeah of kucho I

Would not recommend anyone go to the fifth station unless they’re going to drive you unless they’re going to um walk up the the mountain yes don’t worry dang gou thanks for being here dangle from yeah UI there you go same same thinking there same thinking dle Jennifer thanks for being here I’m so

Thirsty guys all those questions don’t forget to ninja monkey guy or question me planning a 4-day detour to soul from Osaka via plane and returning to haneda are there any issues I should be aware of when entering B Soul um and Japan entering Korea I don’t know that’s a

Whole maybe there’s a there’s a um you know kimchi monkey Channel somewhere out there that can that can guide you to things um of um of Korea coming back it would be exactly the same you’d still you’d need to do your visit Japan all

Over again um Etc it will be the same as going back into the country how far in advanc can I purchase Reserve Shin tickets um usually I think it’s with I believe it’s one month I believe oh once you trade in your Jr pass voucher you have once you you trade

In your Jr pass voucher you can choose when it starts and I think you need to start it within within three weeks I can’t remember of the top of my head right now as a first timer in Tokyo I think that you should just um you know take

The bull by the by the horns and basically get used to the public transport the quicker you get used to being able to navigate around the the subway and um the Jr lines Etc the Metro the more that you’ll be able to see of the of the city

Thanks yeah don’t forget to like the video hini isn’t that cheap compared to cheap restaurants especially lunch menus lunch menus are like on another level is over tourism anything to be concerned about this year um I think over tourism is something that we should all be very

Aware of um and we need to set our expectations for places realistically rather than what you see in social media that means that um if you are going to go to Kumi zuda of shimi andari you see all those beautiful pictures and and videos and you think oh I you know I’m

Going to go there and I’m going to have a an enlightening peaceful walk at Fushimi Inari and I can assure you that that’s far from the truth you can get that but you need to leave you need to get there very very early um in the morning so just set your expectation

And you’ll be fine or like I’ve been saying for the past God knows how long check out some of those less visited places ISU wakamatsu really enjoyed it got a video on it really terrible thumbnail I need to fix it but ISU wakamatsu is a great place really liked

It um hardly any tourists um places even going to Hiroshima you know like um you’d get far less tourists compared to Kyoto um yeah so just explore some other locations Japan Japan Jaan dude do I have a second Channel love you guys live Michaela

Thank you so much um Japan ja Japan I do have a second Channel um it’s it’s um happy gin so please check out my second Channel And subscribe and also I’m going to do a a big shout out to pan panich van who is not only an awesome awesome uh moderator for the

Channel I know it’s not easy to be there moderating so I appreciate appreciate your help but also has an incredible Facebook um group with hundreds of thousands of of followers where you can get lots of um lots of ideas Etc but apart from that he’s recently been pushing his YouTube channel so please

Click on his name and and check it out and then come back here thanks dude where to go to ride the shinen in Tokyo if you’re going to get the shinkansen you need to go depending on the shansen to weno Station Tokyo station shinagawa station those are the

Three main um sort of hubs in um in Tokyo do you believe that Tokyo’s kyo’s tourist restrictions are permanent just temp until people get smiley face love from me and Micha and I think it’s um it’s only the start to be honest now like I said I’m not very sure how

They’re going to enforce it and if they’re going to be able to enforce it to be honest the only way that I see anything like that being enforced by actually putting like a a gate um to stop tourists sign you know is it going to do it I’m not very

Sure we’ll wait and see we’ll wait and see the whiskey or the beer okay any more questions remember at ninja monkey guy or question is the only ones that I’m going to sort of like be focusing on so um T and baby an awesome restaurant I re I recommend you eat

That also I do I do um I’m not going to lie I do check out some me the members those of you who are members you know I do look at your stuff what you what you have to say which leads me to the next F

Okay so yeah thanks um what are you excited about most about your return to Japan I’m not going to lie I’m incredibly super excited about Sakura season I mean I honestly thought at one point I was I was a little bit like I’m going to miss

It I don’t feel I’m going to get it but I’m going to get it very much in time I arrive on the 29th at 2: p.m. and I believe that the they’re saying the peak of Kuro will be on the 30th so I’m going to be there like perfect perfect timing

Or the 31st perfect timing question any update on Nintendo Museum in Kyoto opening by the end of March um it’s supposed to be opening by by Spring I believe was the last time that I checked um has it opened already Nintendo mum Koto um it will be finished by March

So no specific news yet but I will update you should be open I wouldn’t be surprised if it if if it opens for spring you know yes gibli museum in Tokyo gibli Park in aoya good luck getting those tickets have you ever been to guon Center in um Kyoto or the samurai Cafe

In Osaka thoughts on them um have I been to the guon gon Center in keoto I think I might have I’ve just been to Kyoto so many times now um and I’ve had so many I’ve had quite a few I’ve been very lucky to have quite a few gisha mro

Experiences um Samurai Cafe not necessarily nosaka but I’ve been to various other like I’ve been to ninja restaurant um in um in Tokyo hey thank you so much dude crafts have I I’m going to put it right crafts by you by you awesome thanks dude thanks for the

Help all right any more questions if I miss any questions I do apologize there’s quite a few questions here so I’m trying to get through them um and I just wanted to highlight one thing now that we’ve sort of got to the to the 45 minute Mark more or less and

I’ve been saying this every single Sunday and I will continue okay so I I do not apologize but I do have a a friend he is actually a um a Japan Creator A J you know content creator does lots of live streaming he’s pretty good he’s awesome at it his name is um

Drew um his channel is Tokyo Drew and unfortunately very recently he’s been diagnosed with cancer with lung cancer he’s been spending quite a bit of time in in a private um hospital where it’s costing me a lot of money and I just wanted to shout out his channel shout

Out his cause and um and just know that some of some of the donations that you you donate to me I I am actually donating back to Drew but if you want to um donate directly to him check out his channel and and help him out because um

I really really do believe in in helping people and supporting people and being positive and sending all the positivity and nice messages that we can um you know cuz it must be so stressful to think about like money and worries and stuff like that so if we can just help him a little

Bit I was the original Co reporter oh I don’t know why the links thing isn’t working but hey um gon restrictions are just about showing respect for workers stay in your lane don’t treat them like their Disney Princesses obligated to take pictures with you it’s a little bit of a of a

Um of a of a whole debate that we can have another day you know whether or not people who are in the you know in in the Limelight should be treated differently but I do agree with you I think um trus overdo it definitely overdo it amo in weno has large suitcases for

Very cheap thank you got a little bit delayed on the on the chat here yeah collapsable collapsible duffle bags I’ve bought and I take with me very often so and what will be the festivals on the um August in Japan ninja monkey thing I’m not very sure if I’m going to be

Doing specific festivals I just last year there will be a video very soon about that with Tokyo Edo closed is there any place in Tokyo where I could experience E Period followup um where could I get a cool chef’s knife you can go to the to

The um to the chef’s um area in Tokyo um to get the knife or you can go to um Asaka um asakasa or to kiji Area um to get some of those chef chef knives pretty good and when it comes to the Edo um being closed you can go try and go to

The new um was it called the it’s called really difficult name it’s called the toyosu Saku Ben that’s it toyosu Saku um which is supposed to be like made in the in the um in the style of the U period thanks so much dude thanks so much Cross

By you but go and and check out his channel and you can you can um you can actually um support him directly and say ninja monkey sent sent you I I know that he will really appreciate it if you did if you want to you know can you explain

How the taxfree shop yes do I need to keep my receipts or apply the taxfree directly okay that’s a very good question and it’s one that’s going to benefit everyone I think to get taxfree you need to travel with your passport there’s two things that you can do you

Can actually register your your um taxfree app on the visit Japan web when you get into the country you sort of scan your phone with a with the QR code or the or the visitor stamp that they put in your passport and you can digitally like register um and then and

Then basically you’ll have a special QR code that you use when you purchase but they’ll still check your passport um or you can simply just present your passport for certain items above a certain amount of I think it’s 8,000 Yen um FL and Good Vibes at Tokyo Dre white

FL it’s very easy they will literally deduct the the the tax free will be deducted at the moment you pay so whatever the the the total cost they will deduct the taxfree um and that’s what you pay um you should inory keep your receipts obviously and you should

Make sure that you leave and you have evidence that you’re leaving the country with the goods that you buy it’s very very easy and very straightforward okay let’s see how many activities do I recommend planning per day in Tokyo I have a whole video about that specifically um

Dalot um it’s my about 3 weeks ago I put out a Tokyo planning guide please check it out um I go through every single thing that you need to know about planning your days in Tokyo um but it just depends any more questions remember @ ninj monkey guy a

Question I’m trying to see if there’s any specific questions um we get on the 29th too yeah cool crafts by you where are you flying from by the way craft by you where are you f flying from are we on the same flight that would be pretty

Cool um what’s the best way to visit shirakawa go the Tama from nag thanks in advance um I I don’t know specifics of of like specific travel routes I don’t want to get it wrong and I need to exit the the chat to to check it but maybe

One of my my awesome moderators can help is man Fu visible intending to view it from Lake kuch during April yes well okay first of all Mount Fuji is also known as the shy Mountain for a reason because put it this way I think in the

24 plus 25 plus times that I’ve been to Japan I’ve maybe seen Mount Fuji six times five times six times and visible like really really like wow um like like really really clearly maybe only two or three times so just put put that into perspective and I spend a lot

Of time in in in in Japan you know weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks um at a time um kawaguchiko is definitely one of the best places to see Mount Fuji some other places that I’ve seen Mount Fuji include Kamakura um and inoshima um I’ve seen um M Fuji from

There also very quite quite clearly on the same day actually and I’ve also seen M Fuji obviously from hakone but hakone was a very partial view it was there for a moment then a cloud came and it disappeared it is one of those things when we were planning my I I went to

Kawaguchiko with some with with some friends we actually had two hotels booked for for different dates and with free constellation and we we were keeping an eyee on the weather forecast and we decided what day we were going to go on you know to to to kucho depending

On the weather forecast and cancel the the the um Hotel accordingly if that makes any sense will there still be any Sakura by mid late April in central Japan um mid to late April you should be getting um Sakura mostly towards like the to Hoku Northern end of Japan and that

Unfortunately is is the truth but to keep an eye on some Sakura um forecast and don’t forget that there are some late blooming Sakura too is there a be later blossom trees in Tokyo on the 9th of April or will I miss them do you think there’ll definitely be

Late blooming um trees you’ll just miss the the the main event but there will be late blooming trees and at that point you might want to consider around the nth of of you know going to Sendai or something like that checking the takura forecast just getting a train you know

An hour app or up a higher elevation um GMA may maybe but you’d have to check specifically thanks Japan jaish ban for for um sharing the Drew I did come across a screenshot of job postings for Nintendo Museum unfortunately the implications for Springtime visitors are a bummer as it

Looks like those hired out to report on the 1st of June ah okay interesting do I recommend taking a taxi early to qera to beach crowds you know what Mark in a way I do I think that um that that Kyoto is one of those cities where you can very tactfully and you

Know like um use taxis to get you to places ahead of tourists um number one number two Kyoto is actually a little bit of a hilly um um city so use the taxis to your advantage to drop you off at the top of the hill to see the things

That are higher up and then walk down um that’s that would be my recommendation but I do definitely in the past I have definitely used more taxis in Kyoto than I have in any other city for sightseeing and I think it’s worth it if you’re try

Tring on your own I know that it can be a little bit more expensive but if you’re traveling with a group then you know it’s sort of um it it all evens out thank you just roaming um hello I will be trying to Japan this Wednesday wow thank you so much you’re very

Welcome very very welcome 5ifth of April I think you should be okay but the thing with Nicholas the thing with the takura is that it’s so difficult to know because literally it could bloom it could rain it would get windy and it’s all gone like in in

48 hours so it’s um it’s very difficult to know thanks Japan japanish Japan you’re doing a great job hey how last should I be expecting to stay in Narita Airport from arriving arrival to leaving I don’t need to get anything from the airport um I mean to

Be honest when I went via Narita last time it only took me like 20 25 minutes to get through the airport so um and that was because I was very lucky that my my suitcase was there quickly but then again from haneda airport I got through all the

Immigration you know everything in like 8 minutes but then my suitcase took like 45 minutes so hello I have a question what is your question how does the 180 days within 365 days work when it comes to tourist 90day visa okay that’s a a good question

And also a question that I’ve only very recently sort of got some indication there’s never been any clear like um indication to how that would work until very recently thanks to the new nomadic um nomadic um digital Nomad Visa this seems to be more like clearer clear are

Guidelines um and it seems that you’re allowed 180 days in 365 um days which means that if you were to spend you know do do um 90 days leave the country and then return shortly after and do another 90 days you wouldn’t be able to return back to Japan

For for a for a whole year basically you’re very welcome CL has day trips from nagoa um sure well I I’ll actually put the CL link there’s my CL affiliate link by the way um don’t forget that on the pinned comment or the pinned chat thingy

There’s a link to my website and all the links are there it’s far easier to go to www. ninjan ninjas sad.com or ninjam monkey. org and click on the link than probably the QR code great advice awesome I’m glad I have some great helpers also is it possible to book training sh

Can tickets online when you have the J pass if yes which website do you recommend okay this is a it depends this one’s a difficult one it depends on where you got your Jr pass from basically because if you got your Jr pass from the official um Jr pass um

Website then you will be able to um you will there’s a website on their website there’s a link on the website where you can book everything if not then the answer is no as far as I’m aware anyway yes Cross by you end of the day gives you another ex another excuse to

Return to Japan 30 minutes says Jad ja Chen Can it can be very very fast it can be thanks jji question what are the non tourist places spots you would recommend from Kyoto and Tokyo I saw your video of ashikaga so that’s now on my list for me awesome

Nice one um there’s loads of places some of them are a little bit off the beaten path that’s the thing I do have a a playlist which is like like less visited um Japan and less visited Tok Les’s visited Japan but if you really want to like dive

Deep into locations that um people don’t necessarily go to then go into my backlog of catalog of of backlog of um of videos from like 2016 2015 16 17 those three years specifically I traveled a lot very very like like of the beaten path destinations when it comes to

Koto I mean are you talking about day trips or are you talking about um like staying overnight because that’s that that can make a big difference if it’s day trips then I’ve already mentioned San kinoi onen um can be a little bit touristy UI can be a little bit touristy

Kobe um HEI um then if if you’re talking about like like overnight stays or staying somewhere nearby onomi is really nice um like kurashiki kurashiki is really really nice also and suano this is so Many question if my prescriptions aren’t on the bad meds list will I still need a print out showing my prescription does this mean I need to keep them all in the bottles instead of just what I need um I’m very relaxant to answering specific medical needs what the only thing that I

Can do and I think that um that Japan Japan ban has put the direct information about the um specific policy my understanding is that everything needs to be in the original boxes with the original like um bottles or whatever that’s as far as the the information

That that you know that’s um included in their website so best G in Japan the best G in Japan I would say is one in kazawa kruin um or kendro coin is pretty pretty pretty good I went to in shikaku what is it called takamatsu

No I I did went go go to a garden ah Ritu ritsurin garden ritsurin garden was pretty pretty darn incredible um then when it comes to Tokyo I actually think to that um um ham ham hamaru hamaru ham hamaru how was it H H rocku Garden yeah hamaru hamaru Gardens

In um Tokyo is one of my favorites just because it’s got a beautiful pond with a tea house in the Middle with a nice um the the skyscrapers in the background which you know is really interesting South Mo I think that Japan Japan Japan will be able to to answer

That question better than me cuz he’s the king of the limousine bus kokuin is pretty cool it’s pretty pretty beautiful yay would you suggest traveling to raido outside of winter season um I’ve never been to Hokkaido during winter season I’ve only been during the summer and I

Would 100% recommend going to H in the summer I absolutely adored it loved it it’s like uh the season of flowers and flowy fields and cheese and farms and ice cream beer and lamb sounds magical toada how you doing hamaru is a pretty special special um Garden I actually think that the the

Little one like the little garden that’s like part of the um of the castle or used to be part of the castle um that one’s even nicer in a way do most supporters and fans purchase football and baseball match tickets in advance or can you purchase a day of the

Event I think in general everything the thing is I mik every single time that I’ve been to a match I went to an American football match I was trying to I I am attempting to put together a vlog for happy gin Channel but let’s just say that um that I have

Um do you know uh anyway there’s there’s another YouTube in it and he’s so such an interesting character TQ Sam you know him tiam is’s a awesome guy but he’s he’s a he’s an incredible incredibly in character swears a lot he’s a little bit controversial in

Things that he says and I’m finding it very hard to put together a vlog as a result I might have to beep out quite a lot of it but um baseball game I didn’t buy the tickets subscriber bought it for me um I went to American football game

TKO Sam got me the tickets um I think like everything generally try to purchase everything in advance okay hamu was destroyed in the Pacific War but it was rebuilt and Beautiful from Google Map it looked like to me like Tokyo Landfield but I was wrong ah it is incredibly incredibly beautiful

Like one of those places where you you stop every 10 steps to admire the The View you know um I learned something that that hamaru there are different types of gardens in in in Japan and hamaru garden is a is a viewing um Garden so the whole idea is that you

Walk around and you you ex you see different angles and different different things um within within the garden there are some Gardens of Japan that are not like that so hey be infested to be honest I I have to say that whenever I go to Hokkaido I’m a little bit worried

Too did I ever visit Okinawa if yes did one site stand out to you as under the radar but still in myi I haven’t and I will be going to Okinawa in July and I’m really looking forward to It and M go visit Hokkaido Hokkaido is a pretty Dar pretty darn cool place I really really like it although the places that I went to in Hokkaido M I don’t think I’d see any bears because they were like Fields you know like um or if there was a bear you’d see

You’d spot it from far away I’m planning to go in April the first week I need to purchase a train ticket was thinking of using the Jr pass website and get Tokyo and Osaka 7-Day pass can I use that around Tokyo and Osaka Tokyo and Osaka 7-Day pass I I’m

Not very sure what you mean Tokyo and Osaka 7day pass I mean you can get the Jr pass the the national pass for seven days but I think I don’t think it’ll be worth it if you’re going to just go to to Osaka return hak in Hokkaido is really

Beautiful but the way they serve squid is really cruel I hate this oh yeah the squid in in um in um hak is interesting question are you planning visiting a specific Sakura spots in Tokyo um am I that’s a good question I think I would I I’m not necessarily planning on on putting

Together a Sakura video I’m going to be totally honest I don’t think I’m going to be putting together a Sakura video um I’m want to go to meuro I have lots of footage from previous trips um of some of the main spots I wouldn’t mind maybe

Going back to eneno um just because I like heno and I know it’s a great place for Sakura um but generally there is two places that I went that I need to go back and and research where they were which were incred incred incredible Sakura spots um

That I would wouldn’t mind checking out game in fact I think I sent you the list of Sakura spots um like the Google Google Maps list that I that I sent you in the past when you went last year um but I honestly think that the whole

Sakura thing is over it’s very very oversaturated on YouTube I don’t think if I was to put together like a sakuda sports video I don’t think he would perform very well there just too much competition um but I will be filming a lot of Boll um so that when I do mention

Like Sakura I mentioned um cherry blossoms or whatever I have some Boll but you never know maybe some shorts or something but um overall I’m just going to with a going to go with a flow when it comes to to Sakura and just check out

Some of the like two or three of the spots that I’ve been thinking of um yeah it’s a bandal Jr pass for Tokyo and Osaka I’m you’re going to have have to explain this to me because I’ve never ever heard of that um is it a separate pass

For Tokyo and a separate pass for Osaka please let me know recommendations of places to visit outside of Tokyo load ly loads loads loads um like Nico and and outside of Tokyo really easy Kamakura and ooshima super easy um yes you can go to to um hakone if you wanted

To you could also visit um kaiko for for the Mount Fuji um go a bit further further a field you know like um leave Tokyo completely go to Kyoto Osaka kazawa um I love Hiroshima one of my favorite places is onomichi I mentioned this quite a few times go up further

North you get to um moroka Sendai loads aakam Matsu would you ever consider buying a home in Japan in a remote town since you travel there so much if I had the money I would consider it but since I don’t have the money I’m not going to even consider it I guess

Are you going back in July 2024 when were you there last I pretty much I’m pretty much in Japan every two to three months to be honest at this rate um I was there for New Year’s and I’ll be there a week after like I’ll be there in

10 days time I’ll be there and then I’ll be back there for for the summer pretty much July and August shinuk is very beautiful also I agree I’m not very I’m not feeding the Tokyo banana today I might not have it I might have it for breakfast pass is together I need to

Know what this pass is because I’ve I don’t know what this pass is does do you know um Japan Japan what the pass he’s talking about is Tokyo Osaka pass Tokyo Osaka pass no idea unless you’re talking about the the okuru arch pass no idea Jonah welcome let’s see

Has anybody watched um the new Shogun so freaking good you thought about getting an AA and renovating it instead of uh of a home directly or would you that be too expensive still I I literally spent all my money on playe tickets and hotels for Japan so that’s where I’m at right now

And food um just I to be honest just um have a look at both and see which one which one works out cheaper for you I give you my affiliate links you can help the channel but I I honestly don’t want anybody out of pocket you know I want people to to

Get the best deal and to go for whatever works best for them um I’m completely honest here like some people are like hey you know like it’s $2 more $3 more I I’ll support you you know some people are like no it’s it’s completely up to

You hey Jim Ross are you still around are you still listening have you falling falling asleep oh the S day Jr pass okay so all right that’s what I was saying before that’s what I was thinking maybe the hok Hoku AR pass I don’t know hey how you doing cose

New shun is incredible I can’t wait I’m I’m fully up to date and I love it okay the Osaka Tokyo Hoku hokiku the hokiku pass okay I understand so then yes if that’s the case and you can pretty much use use the the pass in Osaka and Tokyo on the Jr

Lines coming to Japan for the very first time this summer if if I have at international plan will I really need to still get a eim or pocket Wi-Fi thanks um it all depends I don’t know what it’s like when you’re roaming with with um some of these some of these providers so

I I can’t really give you an answer for that um maybe somebody who’s done it in the past um is okay I know that some people that have done it with I think vone from the UK over there they found that they that they were very very like

The the the speeds were very slow um I don’t know it would be the same for you yes confusing with the arch pass you can’t go straight from Osaka you have to go via kazawa yes and um at the moment I’m not very sure if it’s something that I would

Do anymore unless I’m specifically saying in kazawa which I highly recommend that you do ooh really cool Shogun is my favorite novel and way it is I can’t what I can’t watch you can’t watch it why not I love it I’m really really enjoying it it’s really really cool

I know that if I start I won’t be able to wait for the whole series I’m pretending it doesn’t exist well it’s um episode 4 um on Tuesday is episode 5 and I think it’s going to be a total of 10 and each episode is an hour long so maybe by

Episode 6 might be a good a good time to start I don’t know any tips on how to deal with the summer heat yeah sure um take plenty of of um deodorant that works for you that’s preferably lightly centered or not centered at all number one number two do

More laundry than than usual because you’re going to need to um but overall I think um drinking staying hydrated um using the the shade and staying indoors um the typical stuff really I think the quicker and the the quicker that you all come to realize that

There’s nothing that you can do with the summer and the humidity and you just embrace it and accept it the better it’s going to go hey super pow thanks I’m glad that you’re enjoying the the Stream never use your mobile data order pocket Wi-Fi from sakur mobile ninja monkey has

An affiliate link with them I found pocket Wi-Fi extremely helpful there you go thank you so much in fact I can actually even put the Sakura Tada Tada Tada if you’re interested in my Sakura mobile um affiliate link you get it basically same price no additional cost

Um you’re just helping the channel I get a little bit of a cap which is pretty cool so I got to Jim you’ll be able to watch it when you get back to to Canada right so what am I required when I arrive in Narita Airport since things are changing

For tourists to visit um saying nothing’s really changed to be honest um nothing’s really changed you can use uh visit Japan web to fill it up in advance and you get Q code or you can just fill up the paperwork in the on the airport airplane basically

So oh yeah Body Fresh wipes hand towels yeah that is very true that is so so true um definitely definitely helps I’ll wait until the full season out for streaming too many streaming accounts for me need to drop one to pick up one for Shogun I understand

You did the thing but there was no code found H strange I guess just a quick reminder everyone that I have put out an update video If you haven’t watched that one please go back um I have the last few videos I know that everybody likes

The update videos but you could help the channel out by for example watching the Q&A um video some some of those um questions are the most popular questions that I put out last week the week before it was like mistakes um so um yeah it’s always worth checking out some of the

Less you know known things guys I am going to start ending the stream just giving you a heads up so any more questions don’t forget to at ninja monkey guy or right question to get my attention any recommendations for the national parks in hokido and planning to visit

Five or six not the one on the island um did I do any national parks when I was there I’m not very sure if I did actually I went to be is that one of the one of the national parks I did go to the um Blue pond which was incredible

And I rented a a a bike and actually it was perfect because I rented a I I booked a bike tour um of ba and they took me to the to the um Blue pond and some of the fields and Farms Etc but um I was the only person on the tours it

Was just me and the tour guide it was awesome hey thank you so much thank you for your help on my questioning you’re very welcome South Maui roller Robert Rob Robert I’m going to put Ro roller Robert here roller Robert thank you so much roll Robert question can you give me some

Advice on taxfree due to free shopping I want to buy some musical instruments yeah basically first of all um when you spend more than 8,000 Yen and you go to pay you need to ask to see they do tax free most places will and you need to

Make sure that you have your passport they will simply deduct the the tax from the from the final payment so it’s very very easy to Do thank thank you for your help on my questioning will the Jr Center be open to get my my rail pass by the time I’m done with Customs probably not probably not question one more what are some of the etiquette mistakes foreigners make that we should be aware of don’t want to

Offend anyone because we didn’t know the unwritten rules um check out some of my mistake videos first of all but um generally I think that as a tourist you do have like a tourist pass uh a tourist card so don’t worry too much don’t stress too much um I think some of some

Of the the bigger mistakes are little things like specifically body language um the nod or the yes hi sometimes doesn’t necessarily mean yes it means oh I get I I I’m listening to I I hear what you’re saying um so that could be a little bit confusing um I

Think eating um like etiquette is quite important with chopsticks and making sure that you don’t pass from Chopstick to Chopstick or poking the Chopstick in rice um specifically um check out some of my mistake videos is what I would say I have like I have like three different

Mistake videos out there to help you out Pokémon centers my favorite one is actually still the one in sunshine City in kabakura by the way can you store luggage for 3 weeks I’m planning on hiking for some time um I’m not very sure what the maximum storage

Is I know Yamato you can send they will keep your luggage for up to 6 days um sometimes this is the tip that I’m going to say JP and that is that if you book your hotel and then you book 3 weeks later the same Hotel a lot of the time

They’ll be very happy to keep your bage for 3 weeks if they know that you’re returning to the hotel it’s I’ve I’ve done that before you can reserve your your seats when you arri of course what’s TW Saying doesn’t matter um what exactly you want to buy when it comes to taxfree shopping does it only apply to clothes souvenirs it’s basically anything that’s not consumable so um anything that basically things that you eat are different they you kind of get tax free you’re very

Welcome no one else in Japan can understand how mod people speaking their dialect follow-up question so I won’t have to pay any kind of tax when I land in my country right sorry if I sound stupid I would have to pay around 8,000 in taxes and when it comes to entering your

Country that’s a whole other d a whole other thing because you’d have to check with your country what the rules are and um that’s basically it I can tell you what the rules are in Japan I could tell you the rules in my country but I

Wouldn’t be able to tell you the rules in your specific country I’ve got the QR code after doing the V Japan um thing online but should I still do the paper form too in case you um there’s an issue with the QR code I wouldn’t bother um I would take the

Paper and keep it with me just in case and if if that’s the case when you get to the passport control and there’s an issue you could just fill it up there if you wanted to I mean apart from that it is a freaking long flight probably so

You do have time to to fill it up if you wanted to hey why would you get a DAT to sim when you can basically use use my Sakura mobile link affiliate link and um you’ll be able to get your your sim or eim or whatever um sent to you or to your

Hotel T you’re very welcome you’re very welcome guys any last questions I will be ending the stream very very soon um just um want to say a big thank thank you to everyone who’s been watching supporting and um some really good questions today as always and um one more time before I end

The stream just a big shout out to my friend Drew um check out his channel send support his way um and um Japan Jaan can put his channel there say ninja monkey Sent send you he he’s out of the hospital right now and he’ll hopefully be able to do a live

Stream soon so you could say hey ninja monkey sent me sending all the support etc etc etc so yeah would you ever attend a performance of um takur ra zuka is my dream place to go but my family doesn’t like it too much I would I would attend a

Performance if you came to me came with me to to the performance I learned that it’s important not to be offended if people do not sit by you in the Subway or stare at you as you are not Japanese see it as C curiosity not rudess actually I don’t

Even see it as a a foreigner thing I think people misunderstand and Mis misunderstand the whole not sitting next to you um you know if I’m on the subway and there’s two people next to me and some people get out opposite me and the

Seat is empty I will get up and I will move to give myself more space and that’s basically what happens with the Japanese people too is it true that ganam factory in y k shut down for good um yeah that is the the that is a truth it will be shutting

Down at the end of this month and they’re doing like like um shutdown special events and everything there are rumors um but I don’t know if it’s just wish wishful thinking but there are rumors that they are going to renovate it and improve it and they’re going to

Bring it back um in the near future so we can only hope as you know I will be um letting you know and informing you informing you if that um if that’s the case so right everyone I think we’ve hit the one and a half hour mark which is Time to

Say Goodbye and also time to say a big thank you to all of you who have um been supported don’t forget that um we do stream on Happy gun every Wednesday and um check out my content and I’m going to end it there by saying you know somewhere around here maybe in the

Future if you’re watching a replay there will be a recommended video that YouTube thinks you should watch because you’re GNA like it so check it out see you everyone stay positive be happy gyen bye

  1. yes there is other JR passes apart from the 3 day, (yes still available at the moment within Japan) 5 7 14 and 21 day ones, there is also other ones apart from the specific regions. They have themed passes and the latest one covers some tourist specific areas so basically a cheaper pass with destination limitations to cover the tourist spots, my viewer last night told me about another new pass as well just for the summer season…

Another new one is 18800yen or with hokkaido included 26630yen or just hokkaido 17400yen and is a 5 day pass covering from tokyo all the way up north, so a northern pass.

So as I keep banging on to you about JR pass is great value if you know what pass what use what you want it to do eg hotels etc and its the cheapest and best way for tourists.

  2. Do you know how the KLook pass Kansai works? Does it allow you to go all 30 attractions for free or at a discount?

  3. Hi Nathan. Hope you are well. Looking forward to another great stream! Kind wishes. Joan Nagase, Manchester.

  4. Ah I missed it, wanted to ask how the temperature is in Kyushu during December, do I need to pack light clothes still?

  5. Hi Nathan, here is Victor. I missed last Sunday’s stream. I am the guy asked you for a recommendation for a beer similar to Bud Light 😂. Anyway, I just found out that the app for Suica tops at 20K Yen and can’t put more money there in the iPhone. Did you know about this? Heading out to Tokyo in May and I wanted to have a good balance in my app. Anyway, I guess I can spend some and then add more. Thanks! I will try to make it to the next stream as I will be traveling to my home town, Cancun Mexico on Sunday! Gracias!

  6. Hey, nice video. Just offering some possibly helpful advice for the 15:58 person's question. They asked, "If you booked a shinkansen unreserved ticket but missed the train…"

The short answer is, yes, you can just take the next train.

The more in depth answer is: First, you didn't book anything, you bought a ticket. What that ticket allows you to do is enter the gate at the station you specified, and exit at the station you specified. You can take any train to get there. The ticket is basically like a gate key, for that station. And it's only good for the day purchased, which is the only limitation.

However, 'unreserved' is the key word here. The unreserved ticket is good for any unreserved seat on any train, not just the next/last one. You are only allowed to sit in seats IF the train has unreserved seats (usually cars 1-3, 1-4, or 1-5). But you are not tied to a particular train, IF your ticket is 'unreserved'. If you have an unreserved ticket, but there is no unreserved train, they usually don't mind if you stand by the doors on the Tohoku/Akita shinkansen. And your ticket will let you out of the gate at the destination. And it's fine. But, if you sit in a reserved seat, they have seat checkers with electronic seat maps that will ask you for your ticket, so probably don't do that.

I've noticed lately that more and more trains from JR East are 'reserved only', and that JR Hokkaido and whichever one operates in Kanazawa are also reserved only pretty much all the time. So, it's something to pay attention to. In my town, Ichinoseki, it almost seems arbitrary which trains are 'reserved only' or not, and I think there's some price gouging happening.

If you have a 'reserved' seat and you miss the train, you are not allowed to sit in the unreserved cars if you miss the train (but I read it a few times, and the question was about having 'unreserved'). Just in case that was mis typed, or it comes up. If you make a mistake (I mean, hell, how do you think I learned this stuff?) the train staff is usually very kind, and will generally try to help you. Once I got on the completely wrong train and told a lady she was in my seat, politely of course, and she explained to me that I was on the wrong train. The conductor kindly booked me a different seat for no additional charge so I could get off at the next station and go back.

If you had a reserved seat and you missed the train, it's best to talk to the staff in theory. But if you're someplace like Omiya, and there's a 45 minute line for the ticket counter know that you can probably get on the next train, stand by the doors, and that your ticket still serves the same function. It's just a gate key. The gate has no idea how you got there or how long you were in the station. As long as it's the same day.

Some shinkansen areas are nice. Spend some time there, maybe.

  7. Sorry, one more as I watch on. And I'm just trying to be helpful for those that are coming to Japan.

"Ikura desu ka" is a useful phrase, I agree. One thing I will say is that if you go to a store, at the register they will ask you questions. They will ask you if you have a point card, they will ask you if you want a bag (in one of 2 ways), if you would like a napkin, and so on. And there are better ways to answer, but if you say, "daijobu desu" and wave your right hand back and forth a few times, it communicates the message without being rude and ignoring the question. And while you might not have understood the question, it just means 'it's fine'. 'It's okay'.

And if they ask you if you want something, like if they offer you chopsticks or sauce or something, don't say 'yes', say, "onegaishimasu". If you say yes, it will confuse them. If you say no, it will confuse them. In my experience. If you don't want it, say "onegaishimasu" and take it anyway. "Ja nai" is not good Japanese for those situations, but it's the 'no' that works for me in those situations if you need it. My Japanese is not good. But I have lived here awhile, and am learning to adapt. A little.

I rarely have trouble finding a restroom. Japan is very good about having them, and making it very obvious where they are. I rarely need to ask 'where'. "Kore" is good, especially if you're buying something. 'This'. I want this. If you can learn "hitotsu", that can be useful too. 'One' of those things I'm asking for. Every morning, I walk into 7-11 and say, "Hitotsu karaagebo onegaishimasu". Now that I've learned that. Before, I used to say, "Kore, ichi. Chikin" and point. Hitotsu karaagebo onegaishimasu. May I have one fried chicken stick please? It goes over a LOT better. But Kore, ichi, and chikin are functional. All words that Japanese people can understand. Pointing and body language are useful at that point too.
