Thank you for watching! Today we’re going from Osaka to Oita on a ferry that debuted in 2023. From Osaka station, we change several times to get to the departure terminal About 20 minutes from the center of Osaka to the nearest station of the terminal

Arrive at Trade Center-mae station where the terminal is located 12-hour trip from Osaka to Beppu by night ferry State-of-the-art ferry that sails 425 km through the Seto Inland Sea Let’s get ready for boarding procedures and other travel preparations. This is my first time on a ferry, so I’m looking forward to it!

The Sunflower is in sight! The ferry is busy preparing for departure We have about 2 hours before departure, so we take our time to look around the terminal. Beppu route has been in operation for more than 100 years Let’s do the boarding procedure. There are restaurants and convenience stores in the terminal.

Let’s buy some drinks and lunch boxes There is a waiting room where you can stay until departure Departure time is approaching, so we head for the boarding gate. The largest ship in the Seto Inland Sea with a gross tonnage of 17,114 tons. Trucks continue to be brought in until just before departure

It’s an exciting moment to board the ship! The lobby is amazingly spacious! The first thing you see is the atrium, where a gorgeous staircase welcomes you The inside of the ship has a Japanese taste. There is a lot of space for relaxing There is a huge screen for projection mapping on the ceiling.

This time we reserved a private room, so we are going to the room. Huge ferry, 199.9m long The room I booked is a single room on the 7th floor Register your QR code and your phone will be your key! The room has a shower and toilet It’s big enough to sleep in.

Let’s check out the room facilities and equipment Shower and toilet together type Water comes out well. You won’t use the shower in your room because it has a large bathroom Mattresses are of high quality and made by a well-established Japanese manufacturer Compact but not too small

Slipper with the sun, the symbol of the ship It has a small table, big enough to eat your lunch Pamphlet with information about ship’s facilities and precautions There are several types of rooms to choose from according to your budget I would like to use Japanese style room! Some rooms are like capsule hotel!

Now that you’ve checked out your room, let’s take a tour of the ship! This is a huge ferry that can accommodate 716 people, and it’s spacious inside! Atrium where projection mapping is held Lounge only available for suite guest rooms

There are sofas everywhere, so you can relax even if you are not in a room There is a dedicated space for pets It is good to be able to travel with pets Captain’s suits and hats are available for rent at the photo spot Let’s go to the observation deck

Beautiful night view of Osaka Bay from the ship! Gongs are sounded 15 minutes before departure. The ferry has departed Osaka on time. Good bye Osaka! I’m back on board because it’s cold Souvenirs are well stocked Original souvenirs only available here There is a touch panel type information board

Maybe it’s not the right way to touch it, it doesn’t respond at all 😢 Massage chair to relieve travel fatigue I was not sure about the dinner buffet, but this time I’ll have a boxed lunch bought at a convenience store. Many relaxing spaces are appreciated I like that it is conscientiously priced ☺️

Lady Borden’s ice cream Some cup noodles I’m hungry, so I heat up a bento I bought at a convenience store for dinner Thank you for dinner We are now full, so we came to the observation deck to see the night view! Over there is the city of Kobe

Finally, we pass under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge The bridge from right below is very impressive. This is one of the biggest suspension bridges in the world! It’s time for the projection mapping to start, so we’ve come to the atrium! We started with the introduction of the ship Then a tour of the ship

Everyone is having fun while lying down on the stairs I haven’t seen a planetarium in a long time It’s time for the long-awaited bath! Warming up and getting ready for bed A bath is essential for travel! Use a hair dryer to dry your hair

I’m tired now, so I’m going to bed, good night. Good morning, I will have breakfast buffet It’s quite inexpensive to eat for 750 yen You need to hurry to eat because the restaurant is only open for one hour Is it certified by Michelin? There are so many different types, it’s hard to tell.

Salads are also available Several kinds of dressings are prepared It is amazing that so many kinds of dressings are available for 750 yen. Satsuma-age with “Sanfurawa” stamped on it Ochazuke is also good Bread is also available Drinks are available at the drink bar, including soda, juice, coffee, etc. Bon appétit!

This is an original container, but the contents are ordinary chopsticks. If you check the curry, you can get a general idea of the level of the buffet. I ate too much in the morning, thanks for the food👍 I must hurry back to my room and get ready to get off…

We should get ready to disembark and then have a leisurely breakfast… It was about 12 hours before I knew it. The sun is coming up soon. The cityscape of Beppu can be seen! Getting ready to land! Slowly, slowly approaching The staff is moving briskly from early in the morning

We arrived at Beppu almost on time. Let’s enjoy the view from the observation deck before getting off! There’s no smoke coming out of the chimney, probably due to the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG)! This was my first ferry trip, and it was more comfortable than I expected!

It is good to be able to make good use of time in the morning since the trip is made in the middle of the night! Thanks for a great trip! I would like to come aboard again if I have a chance.

I feel the power again when I see it after it gets light. Now we are refueling for Osaka with natural gas as fuel Trucks are coming down one after another Civilians can be seen here and there You can take a bus or cab to Beppu station

It was a very satisfying ferry trip, thank you! Rental car is close by, so I’ll walk there. I wonder if there are any tourist attractions open early in the morning… I thought, “Yes, there is! Since I’m here, I’m going to visit all the hells! Steam is coming from every surface!

Steam is rising from cobalt blue ponds More steam than expected You should see this live, the power is different You can use the footbath Just the right temperature This seems to be the fountainhead Stamps are placed in each hell Seven hells are completed! It’s a short walk from Umi-Jigoku to Onishi-Bojin-Jigoku

No tourists here, almost a private place I never get tired of looking at it, I can look at it all the time There’s so much steam, like there’s a fire somewhere. Let’s put a stamp on it. Be careful not to apply too much ink

Early in the morning is recommended because there are fewer tourists Let’s head for the third hell. (3 min. walk from the “Hell Street” to the next hell. This is one of the most popular hells and crowded with many tourists. You can feel the breath of the earth here, too.

There is so much to see in this hell If you buy a paper cup, you can drink hot spring water Cobalt blue pond with steam is fantastic! When wind is blown to the pond, steam rises I get the third stamp! The next hell can also be reached on foot!

A friendly-looking demon greets you This pond is 99.1 degrees Celsius hot, so be careful. It’s dangerous to have a crocodile jump on you. It’s still sleeping, it’s not moving a bit. I wonder if this is a hot spring… I got the 4th stamp!

The “Hell Tour” is more fun than I thought it would be! So far it is within walking distance, so it is easy to tour around It is convenient to have a discount if you have a common ticket. It is indeed a white pond. There was a tropical fish museum next to it.

They look cute, but these are piranhas. Okay, two more to complete. The next hell is a little bit far away, so it’s hard to walk. T-shirts related to hell are sold here The only place in the world where people are not allowed to go to hell is the Pond of Blood Hell!

Red color as if bath salts are added Even the fallen leaves are bright red Let’s take a look from the high ground The view of hell from the high ground is also impressive. Got the sixth stamp! There is a footbath in Blood Pond Hell, too!

Finally, we come to the seventh and last hell. Hot springs suddenly erupt from underground! The hot springs are held in place by rocks, but they are still blowing up to 50 meters high. Last stamp, complete, good night! I’m getting hungry, so I’m going to have an early lunch!

We have lunch at “Toyoken”, one of the most popular restaurants in Beppu. I arrived a little early, so I was guided to the first one. I had “Toriten” when I came here before, so I’ll change it this time. All of them look so delicious, I can’t decide which one to choose!

I choose “Toriten” after much deliberation The origin of “Toriten”, I never get tired of eating it. Dip it in original sauce and enjoy! It’s so delicious! It tastes even better with mustard on it! It is good to eat with rice It was delicious, thank you for the food!

By the time we finished eating, the restaurant was overflowing with customers! I have some more time left, so I’m going sightseeing. Let’s take the ropeway to Tsurumidake It’s only 10 minutes, but enjoy the aerial walk! We are going up to 1,300m altitude at once. Beppu city can be seen in the distance

One of the largest ropeways in Kyushu with capacity for 101 passengers The view from the top of the mountain is wonderful! Tsurumidake summit is about 10 minutes walk from the ropeway station. You can see the ferry “Sunflower” which you were on earlier

We can look down on the city of Beppu and enjoy the spectacular view! The ropeway is always exciting to ride! Arrival in no time Having enjoyed sightseeing enough, we head for “Oita Station” where we will stay today! After buying dinner, we are going to relax at a hotel with a hot spring.

Stay at hotel directly connected to Oita station This hotel has a hot spring on the top floor and is highly recommended! Japanese style taste room, good size Unfortunately, the view from the window was of a parking lot. I never use the shower attached to the room, but let’s see!

Today we will stay in the hotel and enjoy the hot spring and bedrock bath on the 19th floor! I was resting my body without thinking I can read magazines and comics, but not many This is sauna and cool room Dry sauna with room temperature of 60°C Cool room with room temperature of 15°C to cool down the warm body I relax and take a bath in a hot spring.

There are towels in the room, so you don’t need to take them out of the room. I enjoyed the hot spring in the sky, so I’m going to bed, good night. Good morning, I’m heading to Yufuin today. The view from the hot spring on the 19th floor was spectacular!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and you should definitely use this hotel when you come to Oita! Tickets were reserved online, so you can pick them up at the station I board the “Limited Express Yufu No.2” to Yufuin Station. Beautiful red car body

It’s a weekday morning, so there are no seats available From Oita station to Yufuin station is 46 minutes To get there from Oita, it takes a big turn around the mountain From Oita to Hakata, it takes 2 hours by “Limited Express Sonic

Limited Express Yufu” takes 3 hours to Hakata, but the scenery is wonderful as it runs through the mountains. Wide seat space and enough table space After passing Oita city, the scenery soon becomes mountainous It’s hard to see the scenery due to fog, but it’s nice and tasteful.

Diesel car, so there are no power lines. Arrive at destination, Yufuin station There is a footbath on the station platform It’s warm The sound peculiar to diesel cars is good Many tourists were getting on the train from Yufuin station We are now at Yunotsubo Kaido, the center of Yufuin

There are many restaurants and souvenir shops. Ghibli lovers are here at “Floral Village”! You feel immersed in the world of Ghibli. All kinds of Ghibli goods are sold Most of Ghibli goods can be bought here. A small village in England is the image of a fairy tale. You can feed the goats.

Heading for Kinrin-ko, one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Yufuin. Walking along the river, you can feel the atmosphere. We arrived at Kinrin-ko in about 10 minutes on foot I thought I could see the famous morning mist, but it was too late I haven’t had breakfast, so let’s enjoy gourmet food!

I made fried yuzu kosho Delicious! Croquettes you must eat when you come to Yufuin This is my first time to eat croquette with cheese, but it is so delicious! I enjoyed Beppu, Oita and Yufuin so much that I am going back to Tokyo. The bus fare is 2,000 yen for one way.

So far it was clear and we were enjoying the scenery, After a short drive, the scenery was almost obscured by fog! Fog on the highway is dangerous. By the time we approached the airport, the fog had lifted Arriving later than scheduled due to fog

No matter where you go in Oita, you will never be short of hot springs! Soaking in a footbath before departure is also a good idea. When I come to Oita, I decide to buy souvenirs here! Starting from the ferry trip, I enjoyed Oita to the fullest!
