Hello everyone! Today, I’m going to introduce you to a recommended hotel in Kobe, “Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel”. This hotel is my favorite in Kobe. I’ll introduce you to its charms without leaving anything out, including rooms with balconies and a complimentary afternoon tea at the Executive Lounge. Let’s go right away!

First off, the location. “Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel” is located in Meriken Park in the center of Kobe City. It’s an outstanding location for sightseeing in Kobe. Its exterior, modeled after a luxury cruise ship, is a landmark of Kobe. Surrounded by the sea, it looks as if it’s floating on the water.

All rooms have balconies, offering different views depending on their orientation. Now, let’s go inside the hotel. We visited by car this time. Parking costs 1,800 yen per night. There’s also a complimentary shuttle bus from Sannomiya Station, so access by train is good.

The lobby has a fountain and palm trees, giving it a resort-like atmosphere. It’s a quiet and luxurious lobby. The top floor is open, creating a sense of openness. We’ve checked in, so let’s go to the room. This time, we’ve booked a slightly nicer room called “Executive Corner Twin”.

If you stay in an Executive Room or above, you can use the exclusive check-in counter and the Executive Lounge, which I’ll introduce later, for free. The front desk was busy right at the start of check-in at 15:00, but we were able to check in without waiting thanks to the exclusive counter.

“Room 910” is our room. I’m excited to see what kind of room it is. Oh…! The Executive Room was renovated in 2022, it seems, and it’s a wonderful room with a sense of newness and luxury.

It also comes with a walk-in closet, so no worries even if you have a lot of luggage or clothes. The living space is also spacious, so you can relax in the room. The washroom is spacious as well. The bathtub is adequately sized. There’s also a separate shower booth. And of course, the toilet…

Comes with a bidet. And my favorite point about this hotel is this balcony. The view varies with the direction, but this room is a corner twin, so it has two balconies facing south and east. The view from the south-facing balcony looks like this. It’s very open, being all sea.

This is the view from the east-facing balcony. You can see Meriken Park and Mt. Rokko. At night, it looks like this, with the lit-up Port Tower and, The moored ferries visible. This time we stayed in a southeast corner room, but my recommendation is a room facing west.

I only have photos, but the night view of the illuminated Ferris wheel and Mosaic is incredibly beautiful. Now, let’s head to the much-awaited Executive Lounge. If you stay in an Executive Room or above, you can use it for free. Afternoon tea is available from 15:00, and evening cocktails from 17:30.

Afternoon tea is served like this, with sweets and sandwiches, among other things. Quite a variety, isn’t it? Soft drinks are available, as well as wine and champagne. I had sweets and champagne, but the quality was unbelievable for being complimentary… This is the evening cocktail.

Snacks, light meals, and alcoholic drinks like beer are provided in a buffet style. Though they are light meals, there are many authentic dishes, and I was quite full. The view from the window is also wonderful. This time, I introduced “Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel”.
