Oh my word that’s the triple that’s what we’ve been talking about this whole time aumo harano just changed the competition landscape for halfpipe Snowboarding there’s always a fine line between if you progress too much you’re going to get hurt if you don’t progress enough you’re going to be stale nobody’s going to want to watch I look at what’s being done in halfpipe what I’ve done in the past and where do I want to go what

Tricks do I want to do what really isn’t being done and can I do that that’s an individual decision is how much do I want to push and how far do I want to Go I’m a strong believer that this is far more of an art than a sport it’s my craft it’s my artwork I like to show it off to the world this is just a creative Outlet I love being outside I love movement I love just jumping off things it’s not

Only about the result it’s about how it looks how the style is in the air there is the athletic side and the artistic side I just want to showcase what I’m capable of doing and I want to represent skiing in a stylish way and hopefully catch some people that don’t see skiing

Often you really truly ski your best when you’re having a good time and that’s where that flow and that creativity happens that is what our sport is all About what I think it really comes down to is doing it for yourself look at what’s being done what I’ve done in the past and where do I want to Go yes there it is been waiting for the greatest show onete Long Beach is on the line for Simon Dumont Shan white is Jamie Anderson she is the best SL style competitor of the world Danny Davis the Grand Master of style one dip two dips three dips m

Welcome dour Copper Mountain H Clark has those incredible runs where you’re just like wow getting that around my gosh alexer getting things going real big thank you D skating with ferocity style flow power oh my word Hamel Roa in the top spot oh that right there massive 540

That’s the energy of skateboarding you know so I just love it oh oh my God di on right takes the top spot Chloe Kim started this progression Revolution there he goes everyone’s going to for the first time they saw the triple in a competition it started off with an

Exclamation point and then ended with one as well what a way to finish wow still no hes again I think they C the pr get away I’ll save you PR for another day snow fans welcome to a beautiful Bluebird Saturday morning here in Copper Mountain Colorado the perfect time and

Place to celebrate the Legacy that is due tour we’re going to kick off today with men ski superpipe and who better to talk us through the action than two goats of the sport two of the best to ever do it and now two of the best to

Talk about doing it Tom wallish Tanner Hall let’s go and in the gate right now the current leader 9.75 Tanner Hall he has been bringing a 1260 on the first hit huge amplitude he’s got the big switch spins as well he just really has had it all look at that

There’s another look at the 1260 the right side 900 here he is the left side n so clean there’s the alley flat spin 360 he invented that trick and here he is the switch 720 and there’s a good look at the 1260 there grabbing the his tail

Right at the end of the ski that’s definitely what judges like to see there’s the alley flat spin Three what up Mom what up dad Tom wallish right now is in fourth place definite Contender for the overall Duke cup title and already an improvement on run number one came off that rail a little bit early in his first run there’s the cor n switch right side 1080 very clean for Tom

Wall double Rodeo 1080 Japan like we saw in the first run very good there when you have Landings like this like and have a look at this double Rodeo 1080 94.75% tour wins of hours in the past those are years and years ago but this event has been a jump start for all of our careers and so fun to compete in and so happy to be back here at Copper Mountain for winter du tour 2024 we got

Men’s ski super pipe today but first we got to take a look and talk a little bit about the action that went down last night at ski street style finals it was all time it definitely was all time I didn’t know if we were going to go right into

It but yeah you were right like last night was amazing uh kind of had whoa we got the snowboarders the snowboarders right here me and Brooks oh women’s snowboard action we watched before we came on air and I mean was it even a was it even a competition Mia Brooks was D

Mia Mia is just I don’t know her she is really solid on a snowboard and she looks very strong and like compared to the other girls every girl was shredding but when Mia drops in it’s just kind of obvious that she’s like she’s really a lot better than a lot of people right

Now and then we kick things up we had shipwreck play so concert for all those here in Copper to enjoy some music and then straight in to the ski street style finobe Kobe’s Kobe he won last year in 2023 could we have expected anything different no Colby Stevenson dominating

Again Alex Hall and Tucker Fitz Simon on the podium as well so an amazing event last night as we take a look at the schedule for today we’ve got tons of action we got men in the men’s skiers in the super pipe this morning then the women’s snowboard event in the super

Pipe then back to the street style course tonight Under The Lights more music more crowds more good times with women’s ski street style and men’s Snowboard Street style a lot of action here on this beautiful Saturday and we’ve got super pipe action on a bluebird perfectly warm awesome day here

In Copper Mountain the team has this super pipe looking amazing take a look at this thing from the Drone angle you’ve spent a lot of time in the superpipe Tanner tell me about the 22 foter what’s it like in there oh man it’s uh it’s really intense from right

When you drop in it’s you know whether it’s four five or six hits it it’s it’s really intense it comes at you really fast uh you know kind of one little screw up you know could mean like your whole run so if you land flat and you

Lose some speed and you don’t have enough for the next trick your run’s over so you got to be really on it and uh all right looking at the start list first to drop Tristan fineberg little Taz I think coming out of Aspen dude

This kid is a young buck that is has a really bright future kid has some amazing style and then coming up with Nick gerer right after dude was killing it dude was killing it in slope style and to see his transition into pipe was you know he’s been killing it all year

John Salen in from Finland it’s always good to see the Finish gear up in there Hunter Hess you know a boss dude got the trick that into the wall Misty flip yeah I you I like to call it a MC twist but Misty flip as well you know but it’s

Yeah check out his last hit and then we got Alex Ferrara just Aspen local and just I mean he’s a monster right now he has not lost this seon and this could be a perfect if he does this if he wins today it could be the perfect season so

Big up and uh good luck today to Alex and then uh coming in Aaron blun is out of the contest today due to not feeling uh all that well so he just looking out for his health and making the right choice so he is being replaced by Andrew

Lino who is from Calgary Alberta 21 years old so young buck coming in trying his luck against all the big boys this his opportunity yes sir and uh after that we got David Wise I mean what can you say three Olympic gold medals so pretty much self-explanatory and he is

From verdy Nevada skiing out of Tahoe and then and then last guy Brenda McKay from Calgary Alberta coached by Tren and pner yeah take a look at our format here for meny superpipe we’ve got eight athletes in the field they’re going to get three runs the best run only will count scored

Out of 100 so they’ll get a score every single time but it’s overall impression on that full run so you need to put a full run down where every hit is really good and the best run wins after all those attempts and on a sunny day like

Today and having this type of format where the all the athletes know they get three runs and the best one counts that’s the best thing for a person’s confidence I know all the athletes are stoked cuz like this was kind of more of the criteria when I was competing back

In the day and I really feel like you know it gives you three chances so even if you crash this the you know the first two you really feel that pressure for the Third Run and if you feed off a pressure it’s kind of a nice position to

Be in you know and let’s reminisce a little bit in the first year the winter du tour happened there were three stops you got first third and first so you never left the podium first at two of them take us back to that inaugural year of winter dutour that like that was an

Amazing year actually it was really cool to have the dude who were come in with three stops and uh Not only was it three stops after the third stop they crowned the overall winner too so that was kind of a nice you walked away with the cup

Exactly and uh and not only walked away with the cup I think I went from Northstar and then did that contest got the cup went to the went to Reno stayed in a hotel and then flew right up to Alaska the next day so that was a really

Cool year for me but I yeah I mean every stop from Breen Ridge to Mount Snow to uh Northstar was just it was amazing and it was the first year so to be to be able to be the inaugural winner for the first ever du tour feels good to be here

Being announcing in 2024 and I think we’ve always talked about it in superpipe there’s always an an emphasis on height so this year we’ve got the US Air Force height meter was there always a big pillar or something in your day what height is so important in getting

Back in my day when Simon Doom was just going yeah for sure but Dumont we were putting up that height of meter for him let’s be real that kid was on I that kid had rocket boosters in his feet back in the day so but I mean it’s always nice

To have that that that height of meter just so you can kind of see and get a get a get a judge because when the pipe’s 22 feet tall and you see somebody like I’m going to make a snowboard reference but cashu you know when you

See him do that huge backside air not a lot of people realize that he had to travel 22t up to get 25 ft out so he’s pretty much 50 F feet above dead flat ice yeah and that’s it’s pretty amazing when you really think about it so I’m

I’m really excited to see these uh I’m really excited to see the skiers cuz right now I know all of them have been shredding all year they’re on fire and I’m really excited for the first kid Taz to drop in cuz again young upand Comer

With that type of style that we all love to watch and we’re about to get it going and we’re moments away from the men’s ski superpipe final but for now we’ll take a quick break and take a look at some of the highlights of ski superpipe over the years

Welcome everyone we’ve got mid SK fight final we going to be flying up here you ready for this let’s do it oh the 1620 to the right 1620 to the left Alex feric real big right off the bat I’m a little dizzy let’s go blun David Wise he’s the

Oldest guy out there okay now the double Court party is going Aon blun he is money R the cave wow heat is just going huge means a lot I’ve never won doour so uh very stoked to add it to my Repertoire refresh your senses with a kick of citrus flavor do the do hey there it’s me food whenever you need me can I just F I’m ready for you you sound especially when you’re busy and you’re always busy so awesome but no matter what we find time for

This so go ahead and enjoy the moment cuz there’s plenty to go around keep it easy my friends sincerely food sincerely Safeway it’s me America’s sweetheart and I just love having a blast a mountain de Baja Blast kids party having a blast stuck in an elevator having a blast winning losing

Having a probe me already blast I can have a blast anytime anywhere and with anyone Mountain deww Baja Blast in stores everywhere I too am having a blast looking for what comes next for that moment when everything Finally 1 Minute whichever path you choose it starts here Get ready to unleash their inner athlete from their first turns to that first drop first air to the first time they leave you in the dust copper has the terrain to grow their skills build their confidence and turn them into lifelong shredders challenge accepted copper the athletes Mountain Rockstar Energy for when the session needs that extra Fire yo what’s up guys Tom wallish Tanner Hall here at winter dour 2024 about to check out the superpipe GoPro course preview let’s go let’s get It that was a fun run that typ is sick it’s really good huh J SI I can’t believe how fun that Is really fun that pipe so well cut we got a chance to get out there yesterday what’ you think of it Tanner I mean it’s scary to be back in there I never competed in pipes so I was intimidated by the whole thing Tom Wallace the pipe

Rider don’t give me that dog you were throwing fives before I was yesterday yeah but you got the nine in there and we’re we’re going to get to see you Tanner Hall in the half pipe tomorrow for the 20th anniversary Jam s back in the bib dog catch me in the start gate

I’ve been out there can’t wait can’t wait as we look at this super pipe from above 22t walls really really long lot of hits a lot of opportunities let’s get this party started with the men’s ski super pipe finals and this is who we’re talking about little Taz this is your

Pick this is my guy right here trist fber fber Aspen Colorado this kid is just you know you know some young kids they just get it yeah they you know they just get it this kid is one of those kids and I’m stoked to see what he does

Right here he’s got flavor he’s got amplitude you see that the goggles underneath the helmet I know you I know you I know that you I know you that uh I’m pretty old for it but still do it I heard you I heard you at ala early

Season talking about like I just can’t do the goggle straps over the helmet Bo first Rider out the gates already pleasing Tom wallish that’s what I like to see Tristan had a rough start to the season coming off uh a pretty gnarly head injury early in the year at a

Training camp but just working his way back in slowly and steady and out here to play finally happy healthy and just a guy that loves to go big add some flavor to the Run that’s switch drop in got a watching up cap racking up that right dub

12 right into the left up 12 back to back 12 come on c not those Are dud I heard that did you hear the guy I heard somebody talking say come on Taz don’t pop and yeah as you can tell that shaded wall looks a little oververt as the athletes have been Landing a little bit low so but nonetheless great run sounded like Mike riddle maybe in

The background on the mic the US team coach hoping he doesn’t pop on that one but that do work 126 just misses the grab misses that gra let’s talk about the judging a little bit I mean what’s so important obviously the doubles are big but like me and you are big fans of

The grabs it’s the style that makes the sport what it is 100 and you don’t want to have you you don’t want to just be touching the ski and you want to be whatever you grab you’re going for you want to grab the exact part of that ski

Cuz the judges now are very aware of where the hand is on the ski and it’s I mean it can be the deciding factor of some points you know what I mean so Y and that’s a 50 so Tristan’s going to look for one of the next two

Runs and we are looking at this Nick gper who is a three-time Olympic medalist in slope style not in halfpipe so he is recently retired Amer Coes right here with these cowboy hats on I mean fit Nick VI cuz what’s he got on jeans he’s got on jeans that’s the

Indiana roots for Nick eer trying to make skiing and showcase skiing on this stage that it’s accessible like Bruce Springstein Vibe up there like Born in the USA type of vibe you know does exactly and love to see Nick I mean his air awareness is so good but the

Transition from jumps to halfpipe is hard the halfpipe is so technical that I’m curious this is Nick’s first season competing in superpipe he’s got some results but could be could this be the first time he gets win so I mean he put up a new trick on his Instagram

Yesterday so let’s see if he can put it all together switch up 10 starting up strong wow right 12 right 12 into the left 12 all right the right 10 and here we go this is the new trick that we saw the bone air to switch wow that run

Was probably the best run I’ve ever seen Nick gper pull I really think it was maybe lacking a little height in the middle there but the tricks I mean three dubs and then the bone air and the grabs I mean like you said dude it was all very put

Together gets all the way out of the tail I like how he landed High [ __ ] on that wall too right there on that right 12 High mute right there and then the setup trick for the switch the right 10 I mean just solid and then this right

Here I think the first person to do that was Justin Dory right correct and Justin dory’s nickname was always bone so that became called the bone air after Justin Dory so shout out to him for always pushing the limits of new rotations in the pipe run one 8766 so that’s

Definitely up in first place it’s a huge score it’s 87 but you got to Imagine by the end of three runs we’re going to see scores in the ’90s so we will definitely see the nine Club come into play okay back to the Top This is John Salin from

Helsinki Finland so big up whoever his coach is cuz that kit is better than any of our kids put together it’s nice that’s be like lav naski at the top gusta used to compete a lot of times in this and a New Zealand native who’s coaching uh John up there and just fun

To see that’s a good kit that is a great great kid and I again dude I always love seeing the Finish skiers come into play antie Olia one of my favorite skiers in the world but this is John S dropping in switch oh switched up 10 he had the

Japan it looked like on that one oh dub Japan on the right 12 right left 10 switch right s what do he got left 12 bed off wow John sa with the full pull that’s a good run as we take a look you can see on the height meter

Over there from the US Air Force you got five hits 117 is the highest average of 99 so judges see all that stuff the height adds in they’re looking for amplitude but also all the technicalities so spinning both ways double Forks as well as grab style the

Execution so a lot of overall impression criteria to take into account I’d say the hit right after this is switch right s that was the only one that kind of I mean it’s amazing hit but it just seemed like that was a little lost a little steam maybe compared to

The whole run but that was still an amazing full pole and first run in due tour 2024 for John sanon big up bro feels good to lay it down yeah what a way to start it off it’s a 8133 so judges maybe being a bit harsh on the

Amplitude or some of those grabs puts them into second place but we’ll talk about it again a lot of these events we’ll see the scores in the ’90s that end up on the podium so just getting things started though we’re in run one of three go hun H man this kid has one

Of the coolest tricks is his last hit get ready people cuz it’s one of the scarier looking tricks for a skier to do but amazing cuz the kid can go really high in the air and do it perfectly every time it seems like so let’s go Hunter and the movies this guy makes

With a-all the magma movies like The they’re they’re not normal yeah he’s not just a halfpipe skier Hunter films in the back country building natural jumps films in the street environment he build natural jumps huh that’s that’s pretty building I guess jumps on natural train

Rather than a snow I got you I got you brother this get just all around a a monster like that hit right there like what what is that I think it’s a switch five but it’s cor it’s Unique yeah with that over tweak safety wow

That oh oh maybe a Miss Q on the yeah I don’t know I don’t know what happened there but that’s a good thing about having the three runs you know what I mean maybe he just had uh he was just feeling a little the cobwebs you know

What I mean dust them off and run two let’s go yeah that first hit though I want to see more pipe skiing like that yeah slower rotation but it’s not always about the double Cork and the 1260 and the 1620 like those slower rot ations and those smaller ones can be

Really difficult when they’re done like that like even Nico this year like at X Games watching that switch straight air first hit I mean that there’s no there’s not much to it but it’s one of the hardest tricks you can do there’s no movement really to it but it’s so hard

To do it smooth and in control it’s a 43 so that’s going to most likely be a throwaway run for Hunter but again that’s the format here three runs is a lot of opportunities and only your best run will count okay okay we got the boss coming into the gate Alex

Ferrera in the midst of an undefeated season he’s got too many du tours to count too many results from every single event Olympic medals X Games dour wins Grand PR everything and he is currently undefeated on the season can he maintain that today here we go and his ski tech got to

Give a shout out to Taylor Sean keeping him going about as fast as he can possibly go all day long and there’s that wow right dub 16 oh my gosh is the left 10 wow Swit right 10 into the left 16 okay two 1620s from Alex Perera those 1620s

Look like it’s as easy as a 900 for him I it might be I that I’m speechless when cuz it really does look like it’s easier than his 900 that last one he just did didn’t even really look like he went as high as he wanted to but it looked like

It was the easiest trick for him it’s amazing how good these kids are getting at half pipe scheme I’m really like theet that Landing right there that Landing I like how he’s Landing up high maintaining speed maintaining speed like on a trick like that to not pop it’s got

To just be a scary commitment so two 1620s one to the left and the right it’s lame to say but spinning both directions that much is truly like doing something it’s so unnatural to both ways see to see that left side 1080 followed up to switch right side 1080 but not

Dubs like I’m a big fan of that yeah you know look how low he lands on that final hit and then obviously you see him swinging that pole that is his signature move it’s an old Mogul thing to swing the pole around and oh 66 wow and let’s check in with Chris

Cot who’s got Alex Ferrero just put up a 9266 Alex that’s exactly how you want to start your morning already up into the ’90s how you feeling so far after your first run I feel absolutely fantastic thank you so much copper thank you dor let’s have a great contest yeah what’s

The plan from here on out step it up right let’s get it step it up Alex your new leader let’s go W I feel like Alex drinks a lot of coffee he’s always fired up he’s fired up fired up Ferrera is what his friends call him he is yeah he likes the

Espressos it seems like he’s been drinking B last here we go this is Aaron blun replacement Andrew Lino from Calgary so you know Calgary the Olympic Park there they’ve got an amazing 22t super pipe they’ve got a Tren and painter yeah they’ve got one of the best coaches in the game so Aaron

Had to step out but this is a huge opportunity here for Andrew to take advantage oh oh my gosh that ladies and gentlemen that I don’t know if you know how he almost just died right there but he came close to death that was an edge catch going switch and he held it

Together I don’t know how he did that first switch seven and oh my gosh all right Andrew 1260 with no pipe left we see you just calm it down a bit Bud holy smokes dude that Dro let’s see yeah let’s take a look at the top here

What went wrong I I I think he started going real fast and right there that all it’s that bump yeah little bit of a bump in the bottom of that transition so the ski gets offline and my gosh dude I cannot believe he was able

To do that c up and into a right side double Court yeah what holy smokes Andrew well I mean his his runs has the making of just looks like going switch is a little bit funky in there maybe for him today but that could just be run one

Jitters you know he didn’t even know that he was competing until what 5 minutes before the comp yeah so way to throw it together you can hear me he cannot believe and that’s a 6433 so judges a little harsh there but they got to be he’s got more runs get the first run

Jitters out of the way two more runs to go for Andrew to put up a big [Applause] score yep and here we go David Wise I think he’s won this dour three times I think he’s got three Olympic gold medals I think he’s got multiple X Games gold

Medals he’s got all the results he’s got all the results he competed in the first winter dour event ever contested in the pipe and is still competing today so that’s 16 years of competing in this event I mean one of the longest careers in superpipe skiing

Wow and another switch drop in that’s a really nice angle that drone angle shows that switch dropping very well switch nine switch S here we go right d 12 mute lost a little speed it looked like right there yeah seems to be going a little lower than we’re used to seeing David

He’s he’s a strong bigger guy usually can pump through those Transitions and really get some amplitude but just maybe Landing a bit low how important is it Tanner to land at the top of this transition take us through like the physics of the super pip well you definitely want to be landing High

Because that obviously that gives you more pipe to pump and get more speed so you can keep the amplitude going up but when you land a little low and as you saw right there he landed low and facing straight down the pipe so if you land like 90° facing straight down the pipe

And a little bit low and you and you scrape a little bit I mean that’s the speed’s gone your runs done so this is it halfpipes a very intense like you pick your line from right when you drop in and you want to hold that edge you

Don’t want to scrub speed and you want to stay stay on it from start to finish yep and back to the Top This is Brenan McCay from Canada another Calgary boy and last year’s du tour winner in 2023 that’s why he is last to drop final

Athlete of the first runs of men’s ski superpipe finals and all these Canadian kids get a ride with NOA Bowman a lot so it’s uh these kids are really lucky to ride with uh one of the best you know Edge Carver pipe riders in the entire world so let’s see what Brandon’s

Got oh Yes oh yes okay Brandon we see you talk to him all double cor run all right not a bad full pole for Brandon McCay wow last year’s winner coming through that was a lit run you can see on the side there five hits wow and he did four double corks so four

Different double rotations five Flip or yeah five counting the last hit where it was just a single cork but I mean that is so many flips and spins in one run and that first hit that switch alyu dub N9 is just such a cool trick there’s another look at it at the

Top grabing critical right into that 6 of 10 wow the right side 12 that left side 12 wow this is a good run looked like that last hit he might have wanted something more but I think uh still a nice right wi really smooth I mean four double cor

Spinning a lot of different directions see what the judges think how’s that stack up here we go 90 it’s a 90 so that puts Brendan McKay into second place just behind Alex Ferrera and first Nick gerer in third so we’ve got some Podium spots we’ve got some 90

Point scores but that’s only the end of run one we’ve got two more runs in the super pipe here as we take a look at Alex Ferrera currently sitting on top the podium with a 9266 and we’ll be back for more of run two and run three where the best run

Counts and it is dor super pipe final [Applause] W Refresh your senses with a wave of tropical lime flavor Mountain do Baja Blast in stores Now Rockstar Energy to help me take it to the next Level is this it this is It I’m a strong believer that this is far more of an art than a sport it’s my craft it’s my artwork I like to show it off to the world this is just a creative Outlet I love being outside I love movement I love just jumping off things it’s not

Only about the result it’s about how it looks how the style is in the Earth there is the athletic side and the artistic side I just want to showcase what I’m capable of doing and I want to represent skiing in a stylish way and hopefully catch some people that don’t see skiing

Often you really truly ski your best when you’re having a good time and that’s when that flow and that creativity happens that is what our sport is all About what I think it really comes down to is doing it for yourself look at what’s being done what I’ve done in the past and where do I want to Go yeah we really are having a great time out here at due tour the celebration continues we’ve been doing this 20 amazing years and so far this year has been the best yet I’m sitting out here watching performance art in front of us the skiing has been next

Level ready and that was only round one I can’t wait to see what happens in round two and three I got one of the best seats in the house especially if you like to get sprayed in the face by the world’s best skiers they’ll be dropping in any minute look this place

Is popping the rails P up there the paddocks full it’s a party already it does look like a party thanks Chris so fun down there skiing really is an art form same with all these Action Sports the beauty of it the grabs the style just so fun fun to watch as we get

Back into the Super pipe for run two of the men’s ski superpipe finals we’re back to the starting order all these athletes will get another two runs at it as Alex Ferrera sits in that top spot with the 9266 yeah Taz we coming back we back up

To the top little man had a little trouble on the first run but he ready to clean it up he got the tune in his ears you can hear him you can hear him mouth in the music bro he’s feeling the vibe the sun’s out he’s giving pounds that’s

What it’s about he’s pounding all of us out there go let’s get it Taz I I kind of like this I kind of like the style where he just kind of you know he’s doing his thing right here he doesn’t feel no pressure there’s no I

Got to drop in right away he’s on Taz time right now get to your spot I mean there’s something to be said about dropping from the same spot going in with as much speed as you want but not too much to handle the compression of

That wall so get get to your spot wait for that song lyric to kick in or whatever and uh and go for it from there and looking like it’s about that time here we go Tristan fineberg dropping in for run number [Applause] two wow right 12 to the top of the TR

Followed up with left 12 going into that right nine and then that’s where had trouble stomped it still went low but that’s where he had trouble and he put it to his feet so right on Tristan Tristan fineberg huge popping out take a look at the US Air Force height meter on the

Right there collecting all the data for us so we can see the average height the max height that’s what really matters that amplitude is a huge factor in the super pipe as we look back at all this run had to offer that was one of the

Best right 12s of the day so high trans that was that was a textbook and it’s so nice to see him landing at the top of the chain and then down here at the bottom you talked about it he fell on that first hit what it like Landing this

Low oh my God it’s not fun cuz you you see it you know you’re going down to the bottom and all you can really do is tell yourself that this is going to suck but be strong and make it through it he did he did exactly that so has he been doing

The leg press what’s he been doing those are strong I mean that’s a hard Landing as we take a look at the score it’s a 766 so he bumps up a bit but I think if he uh you know just doesn’t pop as much on that bottom and can land a little

Higher and uh maybe add a little something to one of those switch sevens or right nines and he’s in the money yeah as we go back to the Top This is Nick gerer out of Indiana Perfect North boy slope style for the last 12 to 15

Years but now into the Super pipe after retiring from slop St competition and this is first season competing he already sitting on an 8766 and great score to start on now looking to improve see if he can get up into the 90s take over one of those

First or second spots looks like he’s going to school instead of like dropping into a pipe run right now it’s pretty awesome Style just got back from bailing hay out there on the farm with his Indiana friends here we go switch right 10 to start her

Off right dub 12 wow geer’s Landing up high on that wall too and that Geer backto back dub 12’s that right 10 and here’s that switch bone air anded a little low but I mean that’s a new trick for him and he is grabbing it and doing it very well and yeah Nick

I can’t believe my eyes every time he drops in I mean just so impressive to make the change from one discipline to the other and be so proficient so quickly those two double cork 1260s to the right and left those Landings right there both of them just at the top he’s

Got to have an advantage he must have done 1 million of those in the slopy course over his years of training but also the halfpipe is a different breed of Beast to be able to ride that transition and here’s this new trick oh wow that’s yeah Nick Justin

Dory would be proud the bone air I mean it’s making Dory proud making those boys proud right there as well coaches are stoked let’s see if it’s an improvement on the 8666 for Nick gerer it is1 wow okay let’s go down to Chris cot’s got Nick gerer in his jeans at the

Bottom that’s right Nick New Tricks Old Faithful blue jeans what was the decision with the fit check this morning oh dude at the beginning of the season I was like I’m wearing jeans no matter what it’s for the people had a crazy morning there was a car wreck on the

Highway and I had to hitchhike here I got a ride in the back of the cop car so shout out to Colorado State Patrol today’s already sounding like the beginning of a great documentary so from here on out what are your goals oh man I want to I want to win baby just

Win I’m I’m honestly having the most fun I’ve ever had ski it’s such a pleasure to be here with all these boys they’re so amazing and I’m like the highest amount of grateful I’ve ever been so hey we’re grateful The crowd’s Grateful they got your back I think blue jeans are

Coming back in boys blue jeans are back that is an incredible story hitchhiking with the Colorado State Police but it got him here in time to do this perfect run for a 91 moving up into second place just a point or two behind Alex Ferrera I think well deserved too I mean that

Was I’m so impressed by gard’s transition into the half pipe so awesome oh fit check up top best dressed goes to the coach and here we go with John Salin the finished Crusher he had a full pole first run he did sitting on 8133 so great place off the podium right

Now but so much to build on I think you clean up a couple grabs maybe a bit more on the amplitude and all of a sudden you find yourself on the podium yep switch du 10 like a boss wow that right dub 12 with the dub Japan hang on see oh

Wow wow yo that D 12 at the bottom really good holy smokes it almost looked like two different tricks he like did a cork s stalled it and then was like no I’m going to dip this that was pretty sick good on the average height there

Above 10 ft take a look at this again in slowmo let’s take a look at the switch double just a couple low Landings T I mean I feel like this right 12 is good some of them are a bit low I think right here that low Landing the low Landing he

Had on this uh left 10 but look at that grab the grab was insane but this low Landing now watch what it did to this hit small you know y That’s the big part of this run that’s switch right seven that’s a little lower but this finishing

Hit look at that’s like a cork seven and he almost like opens up took like looked at the crowd for a second and then was like oh see you see if he locks in the grab judges particular like that wow that I mean he did just clean that up John

Please yeah look at that Coach Pete look at that what is that what kind of North Face is that is that just North Face is that a Gucci North Face that’s something special I mean Pete it’s the only one repping it what do you think tenner where’s that slide him in oh 88

So big impr yep he’s still in fourth place a big Improvement but but I think he’s got a little bit more in the tank and I know he can go a little bit bigger on that switch right seven do a little bit better on that last hit so a little

Bit better on the grabs and amplitude and that 88 could easily be a 90 plus I mean the runs there it’s just all about the execution rather than like the technical difficulty and here we go if this kid puts it down this kid’s a definite Podium Contender underes has one of the funner

Runs to watch right now had a little trouble in the first run putting it down but I know this kid and I know his contest head and I know his head and he’s about to lay it down Hunters had quite the year I mean been competing for

A long time but recently this year been able to put a bunch of runs down found his style his run that works and he’s been on lots of podiums this season kind of for the first time because he finally stuck to something he does best and that’s tricks like this first

Hit wow switch five over tweak safety switch right 10 Into the left 12 come on Hunter into the right 12 does he oh yeah it’s a it’s a game of not popping today you know you really want to just be aggressive on that takeoff instead of like using your using your legs to force yourself into a pop you

Kind of just want to get to the top and just suck your knees up in a way so the you know the the the easier you are on the pop and we always called it just being more aggressive don’t pop just be aggressive so if H stable stable through

That wall and just hold ex just stay stable and trust that that wall is built perfectly that it’s going to put you right back in it’s tough when you’re losing speed I got to imagine your instinct to get the trick around is to pop but you got to just be strong is

What you’re saying exactly okay so a little low on that final Landing Hunter is probably going to be looking for the next round we still want to see that final hit we need to see that final hit all right Alex verier back in the start gate run number two this kid’s on the

Top leaders like top of the leader board right now like always I this is a generally comfortable position and I’ll tell you what you you saw his first run we know that he can land a little higher and cleaning up a little bit better so just watch This started off [Applause] there it is that’s a cleaner 10 already come on Switched up oh my gosh that was that was definitely better 100% that’s going to be a higher score you can even see it that he’s feeling it wow height meter I mean he was like a

Higher average than last time more amplitude his his left side 10 into that switch right side dub how he he just landed more solid he kind his first run he kind of had a little kind of a funky spin out of that left 10 and this run

Was just perfect and that right du 16 is just ridiculous so think about this for a second no one else in this final has done a 1620 butt Alex and he is doing both 1620s and look at this see how he comes around right here he was so stable

To come in for this hit right there cuz I think he only did switch right seven last run so so to do switch right dub right there and then into this I mean it’s it’s near Perfection that dude landed like he didn’t even take off might as well be sleeping right there in

The air hands at the side Perfect Landing no bobles look at Taylor seating up there you got Taylor and Elana team fiara Taylor’s one of the illst to ever do it so I feel like Alex is lucky guy to have Taylor up in his Corner making

His skis and just getting in the head and they’re really good friend and 9433 Alex Ferrera still on top with a two-point higher score a big Improvement sitting comfortably in first place wow team Alex and Taylor good on you boys back to the top up next we have Andrew longino from

Calgary Alberta so replacing Aaron Blanc had a little misc on that first one dropping in so it’s going to be this drop in that really matters yeah hopefully he he handled that edge catch like nobody’s business way better than I would I would just face Grandpa Hall

Season Ender that could have been a career Ender so dropping in for run two let’s see how he handles it already better the right up 12 O left s all right there we go definitely cleaned it up definely cleaned it up two double Cork 1260s and two switch sevens both

Ways so spinning all four directions and definitely cleaner through the flat bottom at the top of that yeah 100% his that switch seven up top is textbook and even landed High train dude that P get out of here a bad thing oh yeah he really did plant it candid thrx would be

Very stoked to see that I think he candid might just be like go calm it down like a little bit though maybe it was too aggressive yeah you don’t need to put a hole in the wall so switch sevens both directions this final hit double cor 1260 gets that safety grab

This is a full pull should be an improvement on the 6433 that he’s sitting on let’s see how much it is all right 72 moves up a bit Andrew up into six place there 72 yeah andreww Lino first time at the do tour we got Brandon McKay up next

Brendan McKay we got David Wise first then Brandon oh I’m reading the screen wrong Tom that’s totally fine what do you think David’s going to do here do you think his all uh Wild game meat diet is the big Factor he’s on a car he’s on the carnivore diet it’s all

Wild game that he has HT in shot kill D see I will I will back that right there I will back that that my issue is where’s the camo you should be wearing camo okay I will back that Too Switch n switch S 812 Just Landing a little low oh Landing really low I don’t know looks like the speed just giving Dave just a little bit of problems today but i’ we’ve seen this in the past where he’s kind of struggled on a couple runs

And then run three comes out and wins so exactly I mean David Wise is a powerful skier I feel like the pipe the way it’s cut like you’re saying you want to be aggressive but not pop but he is like a powerful athlete who trains for this

Maybe he’s just too popping too hard on every head he seems to be landing low losing amplitude and makes it really hard to get through all these technical tricks yeah sometimes when you put those tricks on a pedestal bro it’s like you know it’s kind of kind like that girl

That you want to you know ask out on a date and you’re putting it on a pedestal and that’s why it never happen so you just got to let it flow got to let it flow and this is Brendan McCay last year’s dour winner started things off

With a 90 and one run so a solid run currently sitting in third place Brendon at the top for the final run of run number two let’s see if Brendon McKay can improve on that 90 point score to get back potentially in the lead or at

Least move up a position or two his run his first run was amazing so let’s hopefully he can build on it and uh jump up a couple spots drop switch alley you dub some amplitude on that one he definitely went bigger but he also landed lower so that switched up 10 was

A little bit smaller but then boom we right back at it oh come on buddy wow come on oh Brandon McKay that 1260 to the left that he did with the tail grab was mint he is throwing that like he is doing a 900 yeah that is the slowest setting up 12

I’ve ever seen in a pipe this was also a loud run I feel like Landing low on a lot of these you could hear the slams but dude that hit traveling so far down the pipe on that double well that’s how you can actually you know compensate to get some more

Speed if you land low and you angle down the pipe a little bit you’re going downhill more downhill you’re going faster so so gaining speed by going further downhill you might not get the amplitude out of but you with just going downhill that hit you’re going to land

And come up and you’ll get back on your line true so there is ways to salvage but nobody likes to salvage you don’t always need to land high but you got to get going down the pipe if you do have a low land that’s great to

Know let’s see what the score is for brenon McKay has a 90 will it be an improvement just slight Pi up Josh Jones down there 93 yeah PT PT of the Year down there so brenon McKay will settle for third place at the end of run number two

But again this is a three-run final only the best round counts so every one of these eight athletes in the field still has a chance to put down a full run and take over the top spot we’ve got one run to go we’re oh yeah we’re going to take

A look and go down to Chris cot Now with Alex Ferrera our current leader in this men ski super pipe final well Alex the equation work go bigger go faster scores go up that’s exactly right just do it for the people right I’d love to see it

And you know beyond the points beyond the prize money and all that stuff can you put into words the joy that you felt riding out of that pipe after you nailed that second run there’s no other feeling like it it’s Priceless it’s just pure Jubilation Euphoria and to be able to do

This as my job I feel like the luckiest person in the world thank you to everyone who helps me and supports me that’s what makes it happen well you get to do it again and we get to watch you good luck in the final and this is a little look back at

Alex ferrera’s leading run 9433 1620s in both directions some perfect grabs he’s in the midst of an undefeated super pipe season will this be the final cap off to the perfect year for Alex Ferrera we’ll be back with run number three in the super pipe finals when we Return get ready to push your limits hell yeah we’re trying that’s fun it is fun expand getting into that stuff with you like I mean I kind Unleash Your Inner athlete Three Peaks four bows eight Mountain parks and the most diverse Terrain in Colorado challenge accepted copper the athletes Mountain Rockstar Energy for when the session needs that extra fire the Earth is 70% water and 30% land but the entire Sky belongs to us copy that aim high refresh your senses with a kick of citrus flavor do the Do itn’t me it doesn’t me Time to Go scan now and use code dour for 30% off cter Roy’s bean bag Chairs Here at du tour over the years but always in in the spirit of snowboarding and fun come on up come on up this way to the Fun Zone this is kind of special special access right here but we’re going to give you guys a little sneak peek all right bean bags get comfortable

On the bean bags dude don’t be scared to just hop into a bean bag okay or you could sit right here and have a little drink we got a DJ set up over here don’t touch this is what we’re here for folks all right guys come on come on

Come on one thing you got to do do tour her is get yourself some Mountain Dew swag not only Crush Dew but you want to wear everything do what’s up you got to give as many nucks as you can out to people yeah what up dog can I get picture heck yeah let’s

Do it yeah got a little peace part 10 here hey how are you you know I come to copper and they’ve got a great Snowboard Park good peace Park here and really when I show up to Copper I haven’t been on my pipe boards very much so it’s nice

For me to get out in the park and just like carve around on these fresh boards okay come on over here they let me park my rig here which is pretty sick it’s kind of the main do zones come come check it out come on come on spin it up

I don’t know what it’s for but it’s cool this is for jibbing come up here backside tail slide come get your photos taken and this beautiful art backdrop this stud here uh he’s going to be around you guys are going to see him a lot this week come

Quickly quickly this week it’s going to be popping there’s going to be music on this stage people jibbing in the street style course halfpipe contests we’re not your basic contest we’ve gotten to have fun and change up the format a bit change it up to a modified super pipe

Take out slope style and add a street style Jam come on out come hang with us I’m going to go to practice 20 years a do tour folks and we’re back at the dour the crowd’s coming out it’s a beautiful Bluebird day here at Copper Mountain Colorado and we’ve got the third and

Final round of the men’s ski superpipe competition about set to go we’ve had so much action already and we’ve got so much more this weekend as you take a look from above you can see the super pipe the street style setup and the massive activation we’ve got down here

At the base area having fun checking out all the tents the booths seeing some live music and of course high flying Ski and Snowboard action as we check out the standings Alex Ferrera sitting in first with a 9433 Nick gper the slope Style guy in second place with a 91 and Brennan McKay

Last year’s dour winner in third but anything could change here in the third and final run cuz its best run counts all that matters is this run right now for all eight of these athletes little Tristan fineberg little Tristan fineberg coming back at you AKA Taz little Aspen

Local and I really like watching this kid Style no matter if it’s in the pipe on Rails jumps just as a young kid like I said some young kids just get it and he’s never really saying anything corny and he’s just not just trying to have

All the attention on him he’s just a good levelheaded kid that has some of the best style and I’m stoked to see this uh Third Run third and final run what’s he got to do to improve on that 76 T you know I think Taz like you said

He might just be easing back in cuz like if you have a serious head injury you know the brain is like the most special part of the the body the brain and the heart so I think if Taz just you know keeps it on edge and tries to land

Higher just to keep that speed up oh and he go 16 he go 16 I did not see that coming he go 16 I didn’t see a 1620 coming there even even that he didn’t write that out just to see him actually you know go for it third and final run

That’s what this is about bro like you’re not going to get any better if you don’t try these tricks in a contest setting you can do them outside of a contest setting all you want but to actually see him commit to that 16 that’s and that was not a fall that was

Just a bobble on the landing I mean he basically puts this down he’s inches away from it being perfect oh yeah Taz wow it almost bums you out that he didn’t try it second second run but you know what he tried it Third Run he put

It to his feet and like you said he didn’t fall no that’s close it’s so close that’s going to just be good for your confidence to go into the next contest so I hope Taz don’t don’t hang your head at all G you skiing like a

Champ bro and that’s all going to come together one day here real soon so big up yourself he’s got the goggle sagged pretty low too I apprciate Tom I’m telling you you watch more of that kid skiing you’re going to be hyped okay and next in the gate Nick gapper in the

Jeans with the flame helmet I was going to say that’s a flaming hel that’s a flaming helmet I think is on fire his head is on fire uh he’s currently sitting on a 91 put two really clean runs down a big Improvement on run two and now he’s only 3.33 points away from

Alex Ferrera but we got to say Alex is run it’s going to be almost it’s going to almost be impossible to beat today but I’m going to tell you Nick is the MVP Rider of halfpipe right now in my mind especially coming at you with that

Bottom trick and that’s a new trick and it just seems like every time he’s getting in the pipe he’s coming up with something new and trying to just make his run more and more polished and now it’s looking like he’s been riding halfpipe his whole Life there it is that switched up 10 starting things off oh right now opted so a little bit different of a run I think are we seeing an easy run cuz Nick knows that second run was maybe as good as he can do it oh

No Nick wow I don’t know I I think maybe Nick just yeah I think Nick I think Nick was smart right there I think him not him knowing that he doesn’t have 26s and it could have been that first hit I’m going to need to see

The replay but I think he maybe let go of that grab or didn’t get that grab and knew this isn’t going to be better but then my run number two why do all those crazy doubles yeah you’re right yeah you’re totally right so this is just a a professional competitor he’s been

Competing for 15 years he knows it’s only your best run that counts and if you miss up one trick you can’t come back and make up those points it doesn’t work like that it’s got to be a full pull top to bottom so he just went out

And had fun good on you Nick it’s really cool to see you in the halfpipe and actually not just doing it but I think I could do that right side 360 that might be a trick I could do but none of the rest of it you don’t think you got the

Boner I don’t think so as we go down to an absolute Hammer Third Run kind of cruising but I I think it’s official you’re currently the people’s Champion ni hey I appreciate it like I said before man I’m just grateful to be here and rocking the

Jeans the jeans for the win on the day all right well sitting in second place now you get to be a fan like the rest of us who do you think’s got the top spot man you know ferrer’s hot right now it’s going to be hard to be Ferrera but I

Mean I got I got faith in all these boys on a day like this I mean come on this is why we come let’s hear a predict [Applause] great to see Nick skiing so well grew up there are no halfpipes in Indiana I can tell you that much so he had to wait

Till he moved away from Indiana to be able to to get good at this but such a good skier as we go back to the top all right John Salin Salin I don’t even know how to say his last name he’s from salonin he’s from Finland he’s lit

Uh ketos if we’re saying it wrong yeah Kos bro but we’re coming in third and final run sitting on an 88 so just needs a few extra points on this final run oh and he go switch up 10 already starting to change it up switch to up 10 right to

Up 12 O just landed a little ah he was going for it he was going for it and that’s that’s so nice to see on third and final runs that just not keep it safe I love seeing people not keep it safe exactly we’ve been told to keep it

Safe and be safe for the last 3 years way too much dude I’m ready to be dangerous okay he’s ready to be dangerous see there’s two trains of thought there you either not keep it safe but you try to improve the run you did but I love the attitude of going for

The bigger better tricks cuz that is how on the third and final run you can really wow the judges doing it really well is one thing but bringing something new makes them think oh wow we got to put that higher especially on the third and final run now this is a guy who

Hasn’t put one down hasn’t gotten to that final hit which is the hit we’ve been dreaming about it is not a 1620 it’s not a double cork it’s a single flip unique rotation that if he makes it to that bottom hit this could be a

Podium run yes it could be and I just really hope that he makes it to that bottom hit cuz the people need to see this this is probably the coolest trick in halfpipe skiing right now Hunter has currently sitting on a 46 as his highest

Score but it is third and final run this is the only run that matters needs a full pull here to get up Hunter’s good with pressure too you know what I mean like I think people like Hunter thrive on a on a on a moment

Like this so let’s just hope he makes it to that last hit on this third and final run love that first hit come on come on come on gets it around here it is yes yes that was the sickest I wao that looked like he almost didn’t

Like throw enough into it yeah in a way something looked funky up at top but that added to the illness it was so unque wow Hunter H bro I’m going to call it a m twist mute call me out if you want that’s my name for it you call it

Whatever you want as we take another look at this run on the third and final run Hunter puts down a full pull gets the op grab on that one real fun to see and then here’s the 1260s we got to watch these grabs and The Landings on the 1260s cuz that’s where

The points could get docked if any of these Landings or any of these grabs are a little bit suspect and here we go he that right there ladies and gentle that is like a front flip takeoff on a 90° wall and does the 180 mute I MC twist I

Misty that is the coolest trick in my mind in halfpipe skiing right now really unique only athlete in the field doing that particular rotation Hunter has on the third and final run is here we’re going to take one more look at the full drone angle my favorite

Angle thank you Mr drone man so good to see it from above you can really see all the rotations and The Landings holy smokes and then here we go it’s it’s it’s so good it’s laughable wow look at that now what do the judges have to say Tanner what do you think the

Judges will make of that run it’s a 9033 or above to move up onto the podium I’d say it’s Podium I I don’t think it’s taking over Alex but I in my brain if I was a judge I’d put that in the podium it’s an 8733 for Hunter H and

He’ll have to settle for fifth place and that’s why I’m not a judge right there Tom we’re going to go down to Chris and get the feedback what do you call it Hunter Hass well not quite the result you wanted but Tanner Hall just said that that’s his new favorite trick in

All of skin tell us about the last trick you did on that wall um I just wanted to switch it up I feel like I just kept doing the exact same stuff year in and year out and I was pretty over it but I was happy people liked it it’s cool

Thanks Tanner appreciate means a lot it’s a misty Tom we can’t jack snowboarding it’s not make twist it’s none of that it’s Misty I love it but doesn’t isn’t there a m come up with a good name for it you guys can work together together on that one yeah yeah

Yeah Tanner call me all right I got you okay well we could come up with something for it Misty is a ski term MC twist comes from snowboarding well skateboarding I’m pretty sure snowboarders were doing misties before we were either way we could call it a

Barrel roll we could call it a a chicken pot sticker we could keep making things up but I’ll take Hunter’s word for it we’ll let’s just go front flip 180 mute let’s call it what it is and back to the top the leader of the board the kid

That’s probably going to win today he has been on fire all day the consistency is ridiculous what do you think he currently has the two highest scores of the day would be leading with his first or second run in his third and final run

Does he does he go bigger do you take a Victory lap just have fun his second run was can you do it better it was nearly Perfection Alex Ferrera in the superpipe current leader I don’t think he’s going to take it Melo no he’s not W see this 10 H the switch

Up that was a better switch up really good switch double oh Alex ferrira the first 18 first ever double cork 18 in the pipe at a event what are you Alex yes that’s what we’re talking about fired up kid five full rotations on that one 1,800 on the

Bottom hit so he was thinking you know what I got more I might be the only guy Landing the 16s but why don’t I do an 18 that right 16 is just perfect and I love this the grab on that 10 and then the hands at the side as he twists

Around and this switch dub switch right dub this run was better than last run too Japan had it better if he had a little bit more amplitude on this final hit I think he could have landed oh wow the first dub 18 in P maybe he’s

Done it before but I’ve never seen that in an event oh and he it was there it was there he got robbed that is so much spinning oh my gosh Alex wow okay so that is not going to be Improvement on his 9433 he gets a 37 for

That run with the fall at the end but sitting in first place we got to ask him about that final hit Alex Alex it’s 11:45 a.m. man and you’re trying never been done in the contest so close right there but right now you’re doing an amazing job this

Morning you’re on top of the leaderboard tell us about that last trick will we see that in competition soon yeah thank you kindly I mean you would have seen it 30 seconds ago I’m I’m a little upset that I didn’t land it but that’s okay a

Lot of motivation to go for next year and you’re definitely going to see a lot more 18s I think in the next two years leading up to the Olympics so might as well start getting them out of the way now right that’s right a man with the

Plan all right sitting at the top of the leaderboard couple Riders left to go what’s going through your mind I’m nervous super nervous we got some real heaters coming up and uh only two more guys or three more guys standing in the way of me in a perfect season so fingers

Crossed right now all right get in the zone we’ll be right here ready to jump on you see what happens next Alex verer doing never been DS 1800 he just attempted but comfortably in first and as iberg would say there is no off switch to that kid’s sicko meter

Today I just had to throw that in for Iber I like it as we go back to the Top This is Andrew longino from Canada sitting on a 72 needs a 9467 for first or a 9.33 and above for for the podium this kid is almost the MVP of saves today

Though if you saw his first run right about there he had the scariest Edge catch ever and just handled it so there’s a big Improvement the Swit got to love the pole PL coming into that right du 12 even pull PL at that as well does he

Pull PL on the switch hits no final hit left up stomped Andrew what we like to see that’s a big Improvement just did the switch seven in the first two runs does the switch double cork at the top there in run number three big final run for Andrew in his first dour final

Here yeah Andrew that pole plant is so aggressive on that right 12 I love it into the you know semi quas aggressive pole plant kind of like the S to s in mid run you know what I mean it kind of slows it down a bit and then he kind of cranks it

Right back up for dub 12 to end the Run just cranked it solid landing on that hands at the side Andrew waiting for the judges score now sitting on a 72 it is an improvement yeah Andrew 7466 for Andrew as he stays in that Seventh Place position but an improvement on the score and a lot to come from the

Youngster all right back up to the top with David Wise third and final run Olympic champ X Games champ due toour champ everything champ pretty much an everything champ and OG the oldest guy in the field at 33 and he’s been doing this a long time but he is no stranger

To the third and final run and winning on the third and final [Applause] Run that switch nine that switched up 10 and just have troubles with landing gear you know some with halfpipe skiing sometimes it’s just your day and sometimes it’s not you know David’s an amazing halfpipe Rider and I’m sure he’ll have more days to come and today it’s just you know sometimes it doesn’t

Go your way yeah it just depends on the day he’s just popping a lot landing a bit low every run there’s one hit where he lands low enough that it kind of ruins the speed for the rest of the run for him and with that it’s a throwaway

Run for David he’s going to stay where he’s at and we’ve got the final athlete to drop last year’s winner currently sitting with a 9.33 Ben McKay is on the podium he’s the final athlete to go but he won last year and I think he would like to do it again this

Year so he’s going to be walking away with a Podium spot what color will that medal be what color will the result be he’s going to have to show us on this third and final run and I think he’s ready he’s he he’s ready he’s about to show up go let’s go

Brandon oh yes yes right at the top you could just tell his takeoff was so much more patient Amazing that right dub 12 compensates get that left 12 good no right nine at the end on that one there wasn’t and I think is cuz he kind of compensated he landed a little low he pushed down the pipe to get the speed back up and in doing that maybe

Ran out of some pipe but amazing skiing all three runs from Brandon today yeah he’s really got a lot of scores he’s got 90 and an improvement that he just put those skis at the very top of the wall cuz you just on his takeoff you he was

Patient and that was about as good as it gets for takeoffs on that switch alley and then this is where the lower Landings kind of start like you’re saying he was going down the pipe a lot right here though oh he held that until the very end wow that wow so only

Four hits not five hits see what the judges have to say but for me I don’t think that improves on his 90. 33 no and that means our results are final Alex Ferrera perfect perfect season perfect season Nick keer walking away with his best super pipe result ever with second

Place and Brendan McCay in third as we check in with Alex Ferrera Chris has him down there oh what an event I can feel the energy and emotion we had dudes in jeans we had nbds and we have now the perfect season Alex come on I can’t believe it

Thank you thank you dor thank you coer thank you guys I mean that’s the moment right there Alex he rides with a lot of joy of course friends family so where did this season start and how did it finish for you it started with a dub and it ended

With a dub I can’t believe it perfect season I’m in awe I’m just so so grateful and thankful and wow just wow well Alex you earned yourself a hell of a vacation congratulations our dutour champion Alex rera oh big round of applause Alex Ferrera I don’t think that’s ever been

Done a perfect season so many great results and he is just a league above the rest of this field with the 216s attempting that 18 Alex Ferrera Unstoppable for the 23 24 season in the superpipe another great victory yeah it was it was going to be almost impossible

To beat him all year with where his head was at consistently mental health everything came all into play and that kid is on top of the world right now and it’s just good to see see he’s a good kid you know so I’m just couldn’t be happier for him so right on congrats

Alex and Nick gerer boom bomb connect dog MVP of the day as we take another look back Alex Ferrera two scores in the 90s two of his runs each of them would have won the contest today take us through this winning run got switch left side 10 tail up top

Second hit right 16 insane then we got the left side 1080 there it is that’s a cleaner 10 right side dub into this left side dub 16 and that land I mean it just doesn’t get better that was like it’s hard to do that run better you can even see it that he’s

Feeling amazing run the grabs the execution the technical difficulty I mean a league above Alex Ferrer walking away with that top spot Nick gerer in the jeans in second and Brenan McKay in third I mean what do you got to say Tanner what do you think about this state of ski

Superpipe compared to your days in the super pipe I mean it’s amazing it’s amazing how far it’s like pretty much progressed and I feel like there was a couple years of just like having it very scary where like when all these dubs started coming into play and whatnot it

Looked like almost more scary to go compete than it was fun and nowy exactly and now these kids have just gotten to a point and their comfort is so ridiculous I mean to be able to do right and left dub 16s and with switch dub 10s both

Ways and a misty flip mute like all the tricks now are so hard to even comprent and the style the style is definitely very important these days which is you know that was the natural progression of where we were in our era and just for how many years that I’ve surpassed to

See the style just come into fruition and everybody be so on point it just makes me happy to be a skier this day and age it’s awesome I mean the variety of grabs you see Hunter with the unique rotations you see the big spins but like

I still think the best part of Alex’s run is that 10 where he gets the tail perfect like that’s what the judges love just as much as the technical diffic difficulty so it really is style execution everything as we uh let’s take it over to D DC down there with our top

Three finishers for the awards yeah thank you very much Tom and Tanner and real quick big round of applause for all the guys throwing down out here this morning congratulations to all the athletes out there incredible performance and before we introduce your Podium to you I’d like to introduce our

Take a look at the highlights from our top three finishers today here at Copper Mountain brenon McKay there Nick Geer with the double cork a lot of good grabs good double cork rotations but at the end of the day yeah it was the Ferrari Alex Ferrera with 2 1620s

And another top spot to his perfect season Alex Ferrera walking away as the winter dour ski super pipe Champion let’s throw it down to Chris cot down there in the bottom hey thanks guys well it’s only fitting that the Air Force is out here after we watch skiing like that

All done in the air so chief Master Sergeant Luc Casey how thank you so much the Air Force has been part of dour for a long time now why is it important for you guys to come out here and support these athletes uh you know you take a

World class athletes that can fly like that and I mean what a better partnership than a world class Airmen that can fly the way we do so it’s it’s just a a partnership made in heaven I think no doubt and we see down on the street of course you got the Air Force

Wings for people to fly through there and I know that for you guys in the Air Force you know technicality doing things the right way very important so I think a lot goes the same thing for the athletes riding to get those big scores absolutely attention to detail uh

Striving for Perfection things that that we all have in common up here on this mountain for sure right on well thank you so much for being part of dour and thank you for your service and uh hey what’s going on in the booth you guys you guys still raging in there after

That incredible ski event we’re still losing our mind in here and we I loved all the data the US Air Force hype meter there collecting all that data so we had the averages the max height I mean definitely want to say thank you for your service like exact all the service

Members and Military members Big up everybody’s self and what a day there’s Alex Ferrera another look a great Podium Alex Ferrera un unbeatable Unstoppable this season this this was an amazing day for halfpipe skiing and to see Alex you know attempt that 18 and pretty much

Almost right it away where you know next contest he’s there’s going to be 1800s added to the list yeah he threw it to he said I’m I’m might as well start doing it now if we’re going to do them eventually so Alex Ferrera walk walking way with another one that’s it for all

Moment when everything finally 1 Minute whichever path you choose it starts Here hey there it’s me food whenever you need me can I get that I’m ready for you especially when you’re busy and you’re always busy so awesome but no matter what we find time for this so go ahead and enjoy the moment cuz there’s plenty to go around

Keep it easy my friends sincerely food sincerely Safeway it’s time to go not yet Check check Charlie Charlie changle I’m Chris cotay and this is Todd Richards one of the greatest snowboarders of all time and we’re going to talk D tour history two dudes doing do for over two decades winter dour has enjoyed a long strong Legacy in the history of snowboarding Todd you are

Actually at one of the first ever du tours as an announcer so let’s go back in the time machine 20 years ago everything has changed in huge ways Scotty James is tapped into the power this was the beginning of it where the pipes jumped up in size we began to you

Know see the rise of Legends D with those big names obviously big tricks are going to happen due to tour over the past 20 years really introduced the world to some of the tricks that changed the sport of snowboarding one trick in particular is the double what was it like when the double

Came into the game at dour the thing was all a sudden the pipes jumped up to 22 ft it doesn’t seem like much but it was a giant game changer for how high people could go out of the half pipe and here we are in 2024 where people are doing

Back-to-back triple Corps I mean it’s just insane to think that that is where the sport has gone and a lot of it was debuted at the dour holy cow it feels like this was an ERA where things escalated quickly a trick progression started to happen that began to curb a

Lot of the talent when all of a sudden the doubles showed up and then the back-to-back doubles and then you know all of these crazy combinations of the switch backside tricks next thing you know there’s a lot of people being like check please I’m a coach now defending champ

I think the other thing that became so noticed was people were going so huge I mean you talk about Shawn White arguably doing the biggest air that’s ever been done in competition up until very recently there’s a 25t high air in Breen Ridge on the first hit that was unheard

Of record-breaking at that time and it was during one of his runs it was just it didn’t compute is so when Shawn and some of the others most notably the Japanese Riders started going or more hyp than the walls were high things changed physics changed here we go

Tatsuka gigantic as soon as the tricks got that gnarly where as soon as you leave the lip you’re literally putting your life on the line people were stared going to the gym they started stretching they started stretching Shawn White four time dour Champion all of a sudden coaches started appearing everywhere we

Didn’t have coaches to be a legitimate Contender to win a dour you had to step it up or you had to step out so 20 years later where are we now super pip snowboarding things changed in 2021 all of a sudden right before the Olympic Games in Beijing aumo harano drops the

Triple cork in a pipe run at dour everyone’s going to remember the first time they saw the triple in a competition and he would go on and use the triple cork to win the gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Winter Games in 2022 due tour is one the first real

Major events helping to create some of the biggest stars in our sport that are still stars to this day so who are some of those names that came up through dour in the last 10 20 years when dour first really started you know the big names

Were like JJ Thomas and Danny Davis and you know Louis veto was very competitive Scotty Lego they were inspiring young snowboard athletes to have something to shoot for like I want to be in the D new Tor I want to compete on that level and they were Shawn White created aumo

Harano because aumu saw what he did and wanted to be like Shawn White Khloe Kim idolized Kelly Clark that is why we have Khloe Kim now the dour has brought these athletes to the Forefront and created you know inspirational targets for these kids to come up and be just like their

Heroes all right so 2024 what gamechanging tricks are we going to see and who will be on that Podium well there’s only a couple people on the planet that can pull the triple cork out of their bag but Scotty James is bringing incredible technical runs into

The hot pipe doing tricks that that no one is even stepping to but aumu is a very driven young man and he can do back to back triples it’s it’s not uncommon to see multiple Japanese sweeps of the Podium it just depends on that given day who’s going huge and who’s Landing the

Cleanest so I’m looking for this to be a an incredible finale to what dour started back in 2008 20 years of due tour it’s pretty uh makes me feel extra old when I hear that knowing that I was at some of the first du tours it’s changed over time there’s

Been lots of different Riders In and Out lots of different eras of riders in and out of this time du tour has been a full evolving competition throughout the years always fun and uh I’m always looking forward to it this is Danny DAV massive we knew we

Were going to have a good fun event at the beginning of the year uh with du tour you know we started in bre now we’re here at Copper yeah it’s always a bit of a family reunion especially when you’re me and you take a break from the snowboarding circuit and then this is

The one contest you always show up at boy you know du tour has always been fun for me when it was 18t pipes it was fun then we went to 22t pipes it was fun we did some modified pipes we kept kind of the fun evolving with this

Competition you know the modified super pipe was one of my favorites um and now we have kind of the street style stuff so that’s fun to watch to have a nighttime event and see the crowd kind of really gather around and have some drinks and and enjoy snowboarding uh in

The nighttime atmosphere that’s a really fun one to go watch you know I I don’t know if there’s anybody who’s been doing dour as long as I have on the snowboard side at this point I don’t like to claim the title of Ambassador doour but I’m always Here yeah hey everybody guess what we are this is called the in between show where we’re in between the events and we go and we snag a couple people that used to be relevant in snow I mean are still relevant in snowboarding I’m sorry I’m sorry my guests today are Danny Davis

Scotty Lego you guys have been in the game for a minute okay and I think the subject matter that we’re going to cover here today is kind of just progression Danny you won the very first du Tour 20 years ago was it the first one the first

Dour the first one I don’t first win D was 20 years ago ago yeah isn’t that crazy good for a long that’s not true but it is like some time ago yeah fun dud we have facts and figures we have facts and figures and I won you won it

That’s great yeah isn’t it good was it one of those years though where like it was the 22t pipe for Olympic qualifiers and we were 18 foot pipe still semantics I don’t know just take the win Dan those were the years man half the field I

Guess like what I want to get into is like okay so you guys are both Forefront of pipe you know back when it was like okay we came out of the 2022 Olympics 2026 it happened and now we’re moving into or yeah 2002 it happened then we

Moved into 2006 now we’re moving into 2010 where the tricks have kind of exploded right the doubles come onto the scene you guys are like at the Forefront of progression so I want give me a little bit of insight on how that was then trying to like all a sudden keep up

With what was happening well I mean the the first of all the halfpipe was changing I mean like when you were an Olympic competitor it was probably it was 16 16 and then the DU tour started as an 18 foot pipe like all the contests were so not only were the

Tricks changing quickly but uh the pipe then changed as well and uh there was even a year where some contests were 22 somewhere 18 and then the airbag was like you know that was kind of like where it started to really Chang I didn’t notice like it wasn’t like trying

To keep up in 2010 it was more like just trying to put your rundown and you know the tricks that you that you had I think years later it was like all right you know every Olympic year you see a huge leap and progression absolutely and uh

So after like 2010 you know everyone’s like hitting the ground super hard um learning new tricks and then it was like all right I’m kind of you know either I have to learn from stuff or um or you know you fall fall behind MH um so and

And and like I think there was a couple writers like Kevin and Sean who were sort of like really pushing that almost like those two kind of competing and then I felt like me and Riders like me Scotty mace we got to kind of like learn those tricks after they did and then

Like so they they were the guinea pigs yeah and then and then we could put our tweak on it and we almost get like love for being like more stylish but we just like almost didn’t have to like learn it how they did and also kind of about like

Right around that same time like the Dual threat kind of like ended cuz we would all do slop sty and pip in one weekend and then it would started to be like okay we can’t like we’re not keep keev was one of the last I was listening

To Scotty’s bomb hole and that was like Sean P2 Kev myself Kevin um who else yeah I mean it’s It’s just tough to do yeah Charles Reed was a good slope and pipe right I mean yeah so for a while there we were really like kind of um kind

Of trying to progress the sport but also trying to like keep it chill because right it was moving really fast and tricks were starting to get kind of kind of cooky right no I hear you and I think I think that’s like one of the coolest things about snowboarding right like

I’ve always loved both of your Styles and I think the reason that I love both of your Styles is like not not only cuz when I look at a hot pipe run or like what what is style to me in a snowboarder it’s also what happens between the walls because you can you

Can fly off the wall and do 1620s in the halfpipe or 2160s but if you look like a wet cardboard box in between it’s not good and it seems It’s just good fundamentals you know and I think that one of the big things was is that you

Guys kept it real if you were just doing a front side air in the run it was like okay cool like that looks that looks good looks proper not like you just learned how to do you know the really important ones to get the points well and I feel like for

A while their kids were like okay I got my 900 time to move on to 1080 right and like maybe the grab was held for like 180 or 360 of that spin um you know so as like not style is one thing but also like doing tricks with like purpose and

Poking and hanging onto that grab and like watch Scotty’s like cab 10 back in the day like that melon was like you know he got into it at like 90° and held it all the way around yeah Scott put you used to put English on they were like

Like you said there was exclamation points in the middle of your tricks like ha like there was like some real heat coming in there yeah I think a show is like control you know when you’re able like mid trick you’re able to like poke out something you know um and for me it

Wasn’t really about like what you could do it was really how you would do it you know and yeah great example a lot of writers out there Dan Cass like the way he used to do stuff was you know him and Sean were both doing 1080s before like we were

Necessarily but they like Dan’s were different than Sean’s and really his own way and good mid mid flap bottom style too yeah sleeping in the flat bottom and like what happens lip to lip in my opinion is like so important now back when we were riding you could be pretty

Sketchy flat bottom and ditch some speed and still get out of the pipe and now everyone’s going yesterday I I dropped into the the the 22 I don’t ride 22s okay like I’m not I’m not the biggest fan but like the amount of speed that you need to

Carry Now versus when we were competing in 16 or eight even 18 that extra speed that you need to conquer the extra fouret of wall it’s crazy dude and these guys are like riding race boards yeah it’s it’s pretty insane minimal side cut like they’re almost riding I mean like

Some of them are kind of more like a border cross board like a free ride board you know closer to that because once you get them on edge and you need that perfection you like a 22 can’t be bumpy yeah lot of these are firm and icy

So you need as much ed hold as you can get you know when you’re moving as fast as like a aumu or a kishu or you know yeah go definitely gets a little bit dicer if the pipe’s not perfect yeah 20 things change I was talking to Malto

Last night he’s like I want to get to the lip and I’m like hell yeah I’m like saying that was me yesterday yeah to let’s let’s talk a little bit about okay so the Friends crew you guys were kind of like the original almost like the original content creators within

Snowboarding like you know pre Instagram you know all that kind of stuff it was so fun I bet and talk to me a little bit about like how that was I mean there weren’t I mean there were Crews kind of but you guys were the first crew that

Really was like a branded thing like you guys were pretty smart about how you put it out there and we weren’t like in my memory anyway we you know nowadays like you start a crew you probably got some like social media you got like a purpose

We like didn’t know start a it was cool and we jack would always have the camera out and there was really no purpose behind it at first and then it kind of grew into more of a brand but in the early days like the friends Vision days

And stuff like that it was I don’t know how many edits we made just nonstop and there they were so fun to make and they were so speak I look back now and I’m like oh my God there’s a lot that didn’t make it to the YouTube you know that

Were really but there was I mean some of the stuff that the stuff that stands out to me is like when and like you guys were acting oh yeah that’s the best stuff like I don’t know if you guys know these these two clowns are real good

Like they are real good want make a script Jack love to like put the effort into like okay how let’s make this thing hilarious and sometimes you get like halfway through the SK you be like I’m so over this Jack’s just like still pushing it and you got to commit to the

Character you do you do and like I remember one time Jack we did a whole skit in New Zealand and I don’t know we had too much fun with it and never made the light of day because Jack somehow lost all the footage it was just always

Kind of loose like that you know like there was you’re dumb and dumber skit oh the legendary made it it was like an X Games thing that we were doing and then they didn’t even end up using it and so you guys did like there was like

More to it than what the the chopped up edited version was yeah it was supposed to be um but yeah like it there’s a whole lot of footage of that like maybe three or four different scenes from that movie wow that’s pretty sick that was awesome all right so let’s bring this to

Where we are now okay so the current state of halfpipe in 2024 I want to hear both your takes on this cuz I mean Scotty you’re like just shooting stuff in the woods these days I don’t know how how down you are with the sickness but Danny you’re you’re kind of still have

An upfront seat so I want to hear like your your take on like what’s happening and and basically the like the youth that’s coming up you know well what do you think Scott I’d like to hear your take I’m just so stoked that I’m not competing

Anymore yeah I mean like I think you can agree with me you know what I mean because the level is unbelievable you know like watching like you know Scot looks danger going to war yeah used to impressive it never used to look dangerous to me and sometimes now I’m

Like oh that looks dangerous you know well I mean that’s and you think about that and like okay we’re all aging and snowboarding is a different thing now like I mean look I’m 54 years old and if you when I was like 16 17 18 and my

Version of what like 50 4y old or like a father you know like what what does that mean in action sports no it not like you were just like no you were just like some old person put out to pasture in shop you know but I thought I was like

When I was turning 18 I was like dude I’m getting old like I can’t believe I’m still professionally snowboarding you know I I think it’s so cool cuz it’s different now you guys are both dads I’m a dad and it’s like Danny your your legacy I feel like the stamp that you’re

Going to leave on snowboarding besides the great riding is is kind of like the peace Park stuff and like features for everyone that likes someone that’s been riding competitively for 30 years can get in there and have a really good time yeah like and my my dad can go in there

You can go in there mik I saw Mike this morning he was getting some fresh cord real early absolutely but like that’s the purpose of those Parks but like what’s going on out there has to be there too I think for our sport to continue to flourish and grow and do

What it can uh we need that stuff going on out there the gnarly stuff because I can take pow turns all day and ride really mellow groomers and I’m going to enjoy myself but like I think to continue to grow the sport this stuff is really important and to see what those

Guys are doing and have a upfront seat uh at the like being able to go into practice with them I mean Scotty yesterday we’re saying like it’s kind of nice that it’s snowy and stuff cuz we feel like we fit in nobody was chucking doubles it was kind of a mellow day I’m

Going to get into that a second we’re going to take a little break and be right back and I’m going to hit these guys up because I need a serious ego boost to get in that thing tomorrow me Too refresh your senses with a kick of citrus flavor do the do hey there it’s me food whenever you need me can I just I’m ready for you especially when you’re busy and you’re always busy so awesome but no matter what we find time for this so go ahead and enjoy the moment

Cuz there’s plenty to go around keep it easy my friends sincerely food sincerely Safeway it’s me America’s sweetheart and I just love having a blast a Mountain do Baja Blast kids party having a blast stuck in an elevator having a blast winning losing having a probe me already blast I can

Have a blast anytime anywhere and with anyone Mountain Dew Baja Blast in stores everywhere I too I’m having a blast looking for what comes next for that moment when everything Finally 1 Minute whichever path you choose it starts Here get ready to unleash their beginner athlete from their first turns to that first drop first air to the first time they leave you in the dust copper has the terrain to grow their skills build their confidence and turn them into lifelong shredders challenge accepted copper the athletes Mountain Rockstar Energy for when the session needs that extra fire half pipes have changed a lot in the last 20 years I remember when I was quite a bit younger and double quirks kind of came onto the scene and that was a really big part of halfpipe riding

Kind of taking this explosion to the next level that’s what I love about snowboarding right now it just keeps progressing I definitely think going big is the most fun thing that you can do in a half pipe gigantic this is the Run we’ve been waiting to

See to think where we are right now in terms of what is possible it is insane and I think that’s why the halfpipe is such a rad venue to get on the podium right now it’s probably the hardest it’s ever been when you’re seeing these tricks they’re going to be different because

The sport it did a Quantum leave when I look at the pipe today and I think of where it came from to where it is now the thing that doesn’t change is whoever is going the biggest is the winner there he goes ladies and gentlemen okay I’m back with uh two of

The Legends of halfpipe I’m here of course with Danny Davis and one of my favorite shredders of all time Scotty wgo and uh we’re here and we’re just kind of talking we’re reminiscing about you know where where it came from where we are now and so we got this Legends

Jam coming up uh tomorrow looming it’s more it’s more looming for me than it’s coming up um looming it’s really no pressure to dating see I was talking to Danny Cass earlier this morning and I I think I was just talking to you in the green room over here I’m just like look

Dude my brain still wants to eat it like when I when I strap into the top of the pipe my brain my body’s like you’re out of your element here now like you need to you need to back it up but I guess like you know coming into this you know tomorrow

What is what does it mean for you guys to be part of like uh something being invited to like a legacy Jam you know to to kind of just celebrate how how many years dour has been going I haven’t ritten halfpipe all year and um and just was doing an interview earlier and

They’re like are you still like excited to get out there in the half pipe and just like you I get up to the top and I’m like oh I’m going to mob and blast the backside air and when you haven’t ridden it in a while it does take a

Little like getting to but it’s very much like riding a bike and I’m I’m I’m psyched to like get in there and try to get some tricks in today practice and yeah I’m kind of curious to just you know given the good pipe and given the good situation tomorrow like what am I

Going to do thinking about is just doing straight Bing out some straights but I also want to challenge myself and push myself you know I’m like wonder what I’m actually going to do out there like if you get ey the tiger midun like what are we going to see yeah yeah exactly like

Big nose grab nine mistake you the energy up there kaishu will be going 28 feet out and like you’ll all of a sudden be like Andy Finch all of a sudden and just go Blaster I’m sure it’ll be fine maybe I’m very much expecting that but it’s cool like you

Know you tour has been I’ve said this a few times this week but like it’s always been the contest we get to like experiment with and have fun it’s not like a Grand Prix it’s not like X Games where these formats need to stay the same and

Be you know a regulated event like we get to have fun here so yeah and like last year we did this cash for tricks which was really cool you know and it was dumping out and they were just giving away money but I mean there were some there were some crazy stuff that

Went down mainly uh by aumu just doing like 19t High yeah it was oh that was pretty awesome you always like half pipe you know um yeah we get to have fun out here at the D tour we get do events like this even when it’s puking and hard to make it to

The lip for most of us somehow aumu goes 28 ft out um wild and and you know Patty’s out there we get it’s fun for me when we get to have people that aren’t in the snowboard circuit in the halfpipe cuz their Stoke is so like get Nick ba

Out there on Sunday give me stacks in the PIP I think those guys Stacks Ba’s like a really good pipe rer super good he Chomps too Stacks totally got it Brandon Davis has got some really good pipe skills I’d love to see all Danny C

Is gonna do I want I’m excited to see Dan how we get a cab 10 like switch tail from Dan just like you know that old school like better sleeping in the tail grab well like I was thinking about it the other day like Okay so Danny like

You it’s not like you forget but like you kind of forget how many US opens in a row he won and like how many he had like two or three like undefeated Seasons or at least one I know that back to back tens like he was the first one

To really bring that out into snowboarding and like his legacy is always been like he’s asleep at the wheel like he’s doing tricks and you’re just like somebody wake Danny up you know and it was just it’s so fun to see these people here you know they’re all

Here i’ I was always drawn to Dan style he was like one of the like my you I think everyone is I think everyone that was a big big one for me when I was getting into like snowboarding seriously okay so this as we wrap this thing up I

Want to hear from both of you guys what is a piece of advice that you can give to someone that wants to ride super pip but that is maybe intimidated by how big it is um start small ride the mini pipes Step It Up find if you can find an 18t

Pipe and a bachelor does a good 18 and just work your way up like a jump too I wouldn’t recommend just going and hitting a 40ft kicker if you’re not hitting kickers yeah I don’t know I think people at Big Bear would argue that they just send it Scott what do you

Got what’s what’s your tips and tricks for this I know I mean just you know the fundamentals as long as you have the fundamentals you know that can carry you through everything so just working on your your edge control and keeping an edge you know like you can drop in and

You can look back up the pipe and look at your line like and it looks perfectly clean then you’re doing you know then you’re doing it right you’re ready y well you know I just realized is that we’re three Olympic halfpipe team members we’ve all been to the Olympics

For halfpipe tight Scot’s the only one that got to medal oh only one that get sent home to which is also amazing by the way like not a lot of people can claim that it’s great uh boys always a pleasure hey thanks for having us and we

Will be uh we’ll be watching awesome and judging we’ll be out there with you yes yep all right we’re going to check in with DC right now we got some more pipe action coming with the women’s snowboard final coming up soon all right on thank you very much Todd Richards very fired

Up to see you in the pipe buddy I know you’re saying you’re you’re not you know that excited yet about getting the 22-footer but uh you’re someone that I grew up admiring and a big reason why bre just stole my home why I moved there

That guy was one of my heroes so really hyped to see him in the pipe and another one of my heroes right now just because of what you’ve pulled off this season we got Nick gerer in the house hello everybody DC here we’re up here in the

VIP tent and we are located on the patio at Jax having a good time going to turn down my monitor here I’m doing some DJing up here and also doing a little light MC work as well but Nick Geer really stok to catch up with you buddy

Oh thank you so much DC uh there’s no one I’d rather be with right now on this sunny afternoon thank you so much yeah speaking of sunny afternoon I like uh rocking just the bib there did you got sunscreen on those guns there no actually uh this was just for the awards

Ceremony so I’m not going to um I’m not going to flex him too hard but I’m going straight in after this going to take out my boots kick back relax and uh man it was it was a great day um Second Place best result ever in

Halfpipe and uh to do it here at the dour in Copper is uh just so fun heck yeah I think we’re going to check out some highlights here of your run including I’m really excited about your bone air variation shout out Justin Dory if he’s tuning in and of course Cassie Sharp new

Parents yeah this one the the wall was a little bit oververt right there so I had to kind of be soft with it and then this the right 10 and uh yeah the bone air the uh the 540 at the end not too much spinning but trying to add a little

Creativity and man it’s just so fun to do a new trick in a contest that you’ve been working on it’s like it’s like you’re in a lab cooking up some sort of uh concoction and to just see it do work work is the coolest thing ever how

Excited were you when you saw the weather for today man I was so excited yesterday we had a little bit of snow but man when when the sun comes out in Colorado it really comes out and it shines bright and the clouds stay away

And uh I love it all right now I really want to talk to you about in your interview with Chris cotay up there you would mentioned you had kind of a crazy morning there was a car accident and you got a ride here you hitched a ride in the back of a Colorado

State Trooper vehicle that’s right so I’m staying up in Leadville never stayed there before about 30 minutes away and on Highway 24 on the way here this morning there’s this car accident and luckily I gave myself some time so I’m like all right 20 minutes goes by and if

Nothing’s happened I’m I’m hitchhiking so 20 minutes goes by then I I leave my truck on the side of the road I get my skis and I literally start running down the highway and the car accident was was kind of a bad scene you know thoughts and prayers out to whoever was involved

And I’m I’m literally walking through it um trying not trying to stay out of the way of the of the emergency personnel and uh one of the one of the policemen was like uh excuse me sir excuse me uh and that’s why I turned around and was

Like oh no I’m in trouble um and he’s like hey if you just if you just wait down by my car I can give you a ride in 2 minutes and I’m like oh okay he must I was wearing my dour Jersey cuz I thought maybe that would help people understand

So um so I get to the cop car and he comes over and he tells me he’s from Indiana and he knows who I am and he’s like a fan and he’s like just hop in the back buddy I’ll take you to dour no way that is incredible all right so you

Weren’t involved in the accident no I was not involved um but you know they the crews were there right away the the state highway patrol emergency I mean they cleaned it up real quick and I got to get my truck hopefully they didn’t tow it well thoughts going out to those

Involved but that’s incredible that the state trooper recognized you and he’s from Indiana as well also hey you don’t have to be from big mountains to be successful Nick gber from Indiana I mean that that’s an incredible story in itself there’s so many incredible stories that surround you but thank you

For sharing that uh this morning it sounds like we’re going to look at some street style stuff from last night so we’re going to okay change gears a little bit here I think we’re going to get your reaction you being a well-rounded athlete of course so successful in slope style know a thing

Or two also with your backyard setup that you had in Indiana Oh yeah know a thing or two about some street style and some Urban setups for sure we du tour bringing in the creativity with with the formats and the setups with the street

Style and uh yeah I Manan I I’ve been a rail Warrior for my whole life that’s all I did skiing in Indiana and to see these kind of high level rail events are so cool because they’re accessible to anybody who’s got a hill and some snow

Just throw a piece of steel or a piece of PVC pipe and you can have fun for hours so big shouts to Colby and Tucker and a ahall for uh um an amazing ski last night it was fun to watch yeah that was definitely those guys were throwing down there was great
