Premium Traveler Presents Trip report of Shinkansen Nozomi Green Car Osaka to Tokyo Fast as lightning Welcome to Osaka! We are getting ready to fly… hum to take a train to Tokyo! We are at Shin-Osaka station A place that can be intimidating for foreigners…

Not that Japanese are scary, they are amazing! But they move fast, with precision and foreigners can feel lost I have to say The booking process is MUCH easier than it looks No matter how intimidating you may think it is Trust the process, it is well done!

It is like anything else in life One step at the time and you’ll get there So let’s trust the process, let’s do it! And along the way very nice people will assist you Ok… Am I lost already? That was fast…

Yep, I am not sure of my track number I can’t find it. Let’s ask! Very nice people are there to assist! Track 27 it is, everything is fine! There are many types of Shinkansen On the line between Shin-Osaka and Tokyo there are at least three

Nozomi, Hikari and Kodama Ranked by number of stops along the way, from least to most In this Nozomi on Tōkaidō line There are two types of cars: Ordinary and Green Ordinary is similar to Economy And Green is Business or First Class in other services

Seat configurations Is 2 x 3 for Ordinary and 2 x 2 for Green, all seats facing forward Wooaa!! Look at this! There’s some action around here! What a beauty! Here it is! Japanese Shinkansen in all of it’s greatness! Safe travel everyone! It is 8:30AM And the departure is schedule at 9:08AM

Our ride today from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo Will last about 2 hours and 30 minutes I purchased my ticket online The link is in the description (not a sponsor of this video) Once on the website, create a profile And follow the instructions for the purchase

If you are looking for Green Car ticket Good to know: there is a discount if purchased 72h in advance After the purchase you will receive a QR code This QR code can be used at the station to get the actual ticket

The process is well done One step at the time and you’ll get there! Careful if you want to use a JR Pass I believe there is a supplement for Nozomi trains Amazing to see the drill of a departure Everything is so precise! Checklist in hand Verifications are made

And transfers of staff Is done in a very ordered fashion So much rituals and traditions Beautiful to witness Almost 9AM Let’s move to a position to be ready for our train Here is our cabin! Number 8, Green Car Very slick! The seat is all the way in the back

And here is the seat! Perfect for a 2.5 hours ride Wide window And good personal space Wait, what! We are leaving already? Be ready! Shinkansen are leaving on time First impression on the seat It is wide and comfortable

The back of the tray table has information In Japanese and English: Safety instructions, Free Wifi and QR codes There are few passengers this morning Maybe more will join in our stops in Kyoto and Nagoya With departures every few minutes Many seats are available for this quick ride to Tokyo

The wide window Gives us a view on the Japanese landscape At speeds up to 300 km/h (185 mph) Everything moves faster than it appears Privacy is ok Having an empty seat next to me helps First stop: Kyoto We will stop for a very short time, no need to disembark the train

I tested the wifi and it was ok In line with an expected usage on a train ride The cabin is neat, clean, quiet and well lit All seats are facing forward The baggage storage over the windows Was sufficient but I wonder when the cabin is full…

I am surprised to see as much vegetation Japan is not only made of big cities after all! With such a beautiful clear and blue sky I hope we will have a nice view on Mount Fuji Oh what is this? A staff went through the cabin and distributed this

It is a wet towel! Always appreciated As for the service, it is minimal Snacks and drinks are offered on request They provide a card with instructions We can order by scanning the QR code Our second stop: Nagoya Another quick 2 minutes stop! Well well!! Look who is here! The famous Mount Fuji!

This landmark is a legend And for good cause! It is beautiful And holds a dear place in Japanese culture I could not have wished better! The weather is amazing, we can see it clearly Majestic, imperial! Just like time Buildings flies while Mount Fuji stand still

To give an idea of how fast we are going Less than 5 minutes happened since we had Mount Fuji in sight The ride is really smooth Very quiet and without excessive vibration How much did I paid for this one way ticket? All in all I paid 15,940 Yens

I booked more than 72h in advance So I took advantage of a discount We are approaching Tokyo This was fast! So how do I feel about this ride? After all, traveling is more than just moving around! Super experience! Quick, easy, clean, at a good price, everything to make me happy!

If you are traveling to Japan It is an experience that I recommend Thanks for watching! Goodbye, and see you soon
