Today our exciting journey begins at Osaka Castle This Castle is one of Japan’s most famous landmarks Original construction completed in the year 1586, the castle has been destroyed 4 times The current castle completed in 1931 is definitely worth visiting Next we visit the bright lights of Dotonbori
Here you can take a 20-minute cruise along the Dotonbori canal This area is a tourist hotspot and there are lots of great restaurants along this canal Such a cool atmosphere and great for people watching The comedic tour guide was very entertaining while pointing out all of the interesting sights along the way
You will pass under many different styles of bridges along the way I think this canal cruise is best to do in the evening to see the full effect of the area’s bright lights The Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel, what an unusual Ferris Wheel right! Very cool lighting under this bridge
The famous Glico running man sign This canal cruise is a must do when visiting Osaka’s Namba district Next we visit the Umeda Sky Building Observatory to see a 360 degree view of the city Northwest view towards the Yodo River West view towards Osaka Bay Panoramic view towards the South of Osaka’s superb cityscape
The observation deck is located on the 40th floor and is definitely worth visiting Next we travel on the Uemachi Streetcar via Nankai Main Line from Tennoji to visit the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine Located in Southern Osaka this famous Shinto shrine is only a few steps from Sumiyoshi Taisha Station
Predating Buddhism in Japan the Sumiyoshi Taisha is believed to have been founded in the third century The Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine is the head shrine out of approximately 2300 Sumiyoshi shrines located in Japan This shine is authentic history with beautiful structures including picturesque gardens and grounds
Check out the amazing reflection of the Sumiyoshi Taisha Sorihashi Bridge on the water This truly is an amazing place to visit The Sumiyoshi Taisha Library Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine’s Shinto banners I really loved these lanterns in the Nankun-sha Shrine Next we are visiting the 103-metre tall Tsutenkaku Tower in the Shinsekai district
The towers observation deck has a height of 91-metres Offering spectacular panoramic views of the areas below This unusual eight-sided structure was opened in 1956 Lastly, we ride the Hep Five Ferris Wheel Located on the roof of the Hep Five Shopping Centre you board from the 7th floor
