Mimuroto-dera Temple is located in Uji, south of Kyoto, about an hour by train from Kyoto Station. It is one of the tenth Kannon Sacred Sites in the pilgrimage to the 33 sacred places in the western part of Japan, and is famous as a temple of flowers such as hydrangea and azalea.
In 2022, a weeping plum garden was opened on the slopes of the mountain, offering a wonderful view of 250 gorgeously blooming red and white weeping plum trees. Enjoy Mimuroto-ji Temple in spring when the weeping plum trees are in full bloom.
