As an ALT, I think it’s important to let others know of your hobbies and interests. Coming from one of the largest ski resorts in the world, Whistler Blackcomb, I was keen to either ski or snowboard as soon as winter rolled around. Having skied most of my life, I chose to snowboard as it gave me an opportunity to learn and improve. I have been fortunate to have met many amazing people and explored different mountains across Miyagi prefecture and beyond with connections through my love of snowboarding.

With Sendai as my current home, we are lucky to be surrounded by a variety of wonderful mountain ranges and winters with deep powder. I hope that this video inspires you to chase your passions and perhaps go snowboarding while you are here in Japan.

See you on the slopes!
