Takayama is a beautiful historical town in the mountainous region of Japan. In my last two videos we explored the food, the shopping, and sights of the city. In this video we experience one of the most important days for Takayama in their annual spring festival. Arriving now at the hotel in agoya we just booked a hotel here by the Central Station oh cute oh nice look at this view let me see so we are literally in the top of nya as you can see from the window our hotel room it’s a rainy day here in

Agoya very cloudy we can actually see the Nagoya Castle there on the background a little bit we are going to go there there is a Yoko Cho which is a shopping streets then we are going to go to that part of the city but before that

We’re going to go all the way down to get some breakfast we only have half a day here in agoya because our train leaves to Tokyo at 6:00 in the evening that was also a reason why I booked this specific Hotel because it’s literally in the

Train station of Nagoya so you’re on the top of the station on the top of the city and uh it’s very convenient because then when we need to go we can just come back here pick our luggage and go take the train to to oh it’s raining quite a lot they have

This practice for breakfast here in agoya where you order a drink coffee or tea and then you get some uh food on the side for free we want to try that for sure okay so this is supposed to make your umbrella dry ah okay so you just best cool

This so this past is a specialty of the cafe this place oh they have one in yu flavor as well yeah and this is the breakfast selection we are already a little too late for that but if you come early you can just order your coffee and

Then on the side you can choose the round breads the low breads you can choose an item such as hard Bo egg egg salads auki bean paste and you can also have some butter and strawberry gam and this whole thing is for free included with a

Coffee so this is a Japanese version of a Danish Pastry and it’s a fluffier with twice as many layers as the normal Danish past a usually these areas around castles always have some sort of beautiful Park designed in traditional Japanese style of course Japanese vending machines are the best

You can find Rose green tea milk Cafe soda water oh look at the water diversity of thing we like that nice so it was built in 1615 and then it’s burnt down in 1945 during the second world war and then it was restored only in 2009 and then

Reopened to the public in 2013 so 10 years ago so right at the entrance you’re supposed to take your shoes off this paintings are so beautiful yeah right we should get a cartoon with those patterns that’s the vibe I want in the corridor each part of the palace has a different

Theme and now we see depiction of life back in the day so you can see there are the boats here life in the city in the little village I love looking to these ones that show a little bit of the life uh how it was back in the day you can

Get a glimpse into the past you also find lots of golden beautiful details built into the structure wow so this used to be the kitchen oh this one Sparkles wow this moru on the top oh and now here at the end we have a aabana exhibition which are traditional Japanese flower

Arrangements this room smells really really nice it smells delicious here after absorbing all the traditional culture now it’s time to come to nagoya’s main shopping streets there’s a little bit of everything here from okay shops Electronics anime Goods cafes it’s quite busy here right now actually so

This area is way bigger than I expected I thought it would be one big shopping street but it’s actually a whole shopping district look in this shop you can take your luck can get some lucky pendants like a charm braet or something yeah like a lucky charm so this kind of

Like a temple or what like a shopping Temple I told you guys I’m obsessed with the Japanese banding machines and local refunds an entire machine from City Chacha City Racha Serena Chacha Serena Chacha anything you can imagine they sell here if you’re into K-pop and Korean culture

You’re at luck here because there is lots of stands selling Korean food Korean cosmetics and k-pod articles and there is even a maid Cafe if you’re into it it’s never going to fit two kinds of miso and sauce so two different miso sauces and we have two

Other here at the entrance already each region of Japan specializes in certain types of foods and the region of Nago specializes in the famous miso katsu so they serve a tonkatsu but then uh with miso sauce on top we order a special type with h two different types of uh

Misokatsu and the same plates so we are now at the most popular place for misokatsu first thing they do when you arrive is that they serve you a little green tea much needed and we ordered our classic highballs it’s Nik whiskey niik whiskey oh we like it wow this looks so good there

More nice am wow this is a whole meal a whole Feast actually excited mhm yeah M delicious the pork itself is already super nice and very flavorful really nice bite and then the sauce is really delicious it feels like it has a little bit of all flavors like some sweetness

Some sourness some saltiness really really good I don’t know about you but but I love this suono it’s like a usually pickled veggies this is a daon with some mushroom Shake mushroom very juicy oh yeah the second M has a much stronger taste this misle soap is also

Especially good because it has a lot of spring onion so The Taste is quite different than the usual music soup you can find somewhere else so he actually came to a German restaurant in Japan to have a drink it does have an amazing view it does have

An amazing view that’s the main reason that we’re here yes and it’s right here up on the top of the station of ngoya which is very convenient cuz our train goes in 1 hour so we can just take the elevator to the hotel grab our stuff and go cheers bye come

Bye nice and they brought us some complimentary salami steaks woo quite strong spicy

  1. You need more subscribers, well done!
It's not in my budget to go to Japan but I really enjoy your videos.
    Keep on the "good" work!

  2. 10:01 Pink pickles is shiba zuke I guess. Simmered daikon dish is called kiriboshi daikon.Miso of Nagoya is bean based one and made without rice koji. The sweet miso sauce over pork cutlet is like a vegan gravy sauce👍! Kishimen(flat noodle), tenmusu(shrimp tempura rice ball🍤🍙) ,fried chicken wing(tebasaki),hitsu mabushi(eel bowl) and uirou are representative Nagoya foods💯🥢😋!!
