A Day With Super Charming Japanese Artists
now I’m recording is that okay? I am getting a massage by him who he is professional ballet dancer in the show he is very different unbeatable in the main Production… in the show it’s very difficult to beat him… yeah in the show is quite aggressive but now is very kind
Very young still 20sh let me do it properly My name is Tashiro Daigo hosting this KABUKI no EN show (director) thank you for today would you please tell more about this performance? the KABUKI no EN show that I am doing I work with many artists /players from different performance genres
For example ballet, martial arts, also myself NIHONBUYO artists from all this genre gathered so all are unified all-in-one Style Japanese Wado I made this show by mixing all this shape of Art the storyline is based on Romeo and Juliet and we shaped a kabuki style of that
The show doesn’t have dialog and is only based on Dance so the show is only dance, based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet excuse me may I take a few minutes of your time? yes sorry for bothering in your busy time no no… thank you
I was wondering if you can tell a little about your role in this performance how long have you been doing performance? I started ballet at the age of 4 and I keep training until the age of 19 so today you play Juliet? yes for the first time I am playing Juliet
Oh that’s great how is it? …it’s challenging how long have you been rehearsing for this? in terms of rehearsal so we started from November so we did on December and then there was a month holiday then this time As a complete version we continued with seven new members before we were seven
So with seven new members we completed the show so for Juliet role from November and we continued from January up until now I also studied in The Prix de Lausanne international Ballet dance Entering Switzerland and after holding that course
For doing some classic … I went to Lisbon in Portugal also did some in Germany also after that I did some in Russia oh wonderful thank you may I know your names? My name is honeka My name Taizen Hamamoto nice to meet you
Would you please explain about your job? Now I am working as a dancer at Tokyo City Ballet Company I joined the group exactly 7 years ago at age of 20 now I am 27 so I work within the company also outside of company like this show
Inside the company with other people doing Ballet practicing with other people and doing many Ballet performances but this time is different ,many style are mixed in this specific show based on one storyline we shaped this new style performance so it’s very fun for me
Same here working as a dancer at Tokyo City Ballet Company I also joined the company at the age of 20 and it’s been a 6 years basically I’ve been doing ballet dances but collaborating with other performances like this production which doesn’t happen so often so I’m really enjoying it
So beside performance and dancing do you do any other things? beside these I usually teach ballet I started ballet at the age of 4 From around high school time, I went Germany for some ballet courses so after I came back to Japan I joined this company
So there’s another Juliet character in the show that part is quite challenging yes performing the emotion in that scene … Triple Building the name of our next performance in On March 10th where is the location ? Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Large Hall it was supposed to be performed on 2020
So it got postponed supposed to be on January again postponed so it’s on March Sayaka Shinomiya Dancer thank you thank you I started ballad at the age of seven I’m doing it now for 23 years doing it as a job
So I have been doing off and on for a long time so this is the only that you do it as a job? oh I am also teaching it this is my next performance the performance name is CARMEN in this show so ballet and Jazz dance are mixed when is it?
July 8th and 9th Nihonbashi Auditorium, Nihonbashi Community Center because they are young and easy to become friend She is Shiori also performing in Romeo and Juliet doing for five years how did you start? for example did you study in school? I started with Japanese traditional dance (long time)
But as a job 5 years ago so this is your full-time job? yes so there’s no dialogue , only dance and projecting emotion with dance and facial ..its fun but this time different as in this we have to protect a lot of emotions thank you for the other time
As you may seen in the other video of asakusa furisode I am Shiho Takekoshi In terms of Nihon buyo (Japanese theater dance) not very long so three years ago I get to know Daigo san the director because I was really interested in this I joined a group
So generally I started with Daigo san and another person that time when I saw them performing i thought it was very cool So I( contacted Daigo san I said I am really interested to perform So they teach me … So you want to do this for ever ?
It is really fun I will do if possible My name is Ryoma I’m in charge of violin for this show (Ryoma Quartet expresses Japanese-Western eclectic fusion of the traditional Japanese instruments and violin. They held many live shows in the world.) I am shamisen player..my name is Masakatsu
It’s my job is music doing all sort of …playing …writing also producing for different events so also for this performance I made this songs and arranging them as well then practicing and doing rehearsal to match with the show so I started that at the age of 5,now it’s been 32 years
So all these years only violin? yes violin only in japan or ? basically in Japan but also I did some in Austria I started a bit late at the age of 22 no it’s been about 15 years it was 19 years basically I’m doing my own original songs
Also we are doing at the same band so it doing music performance in Japan also International doing music for movies sometimes I use guitar and other equipment too So because our style of music has no language barrier and not feeling of the Countries border.. we can connect people around the world
Going America ,Thailand, Malaysia and other countries very exciting please be noticed. I have to change some of the music in the show cuz of copyright

Great video, great performance, privileged to be able to view it
Did you need a reservation to go into the bar, in your previous video? Please walk me through the process that it took for you to become acquainted with the place.
Please do more videos with 'Shihi Takekoshi'
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most 'human' stories that the Bard ever told! Such a unique and beautiful portrayal. Thank you for sharing this! 💖
Ever since the previous video at the Mokubatei theater I have been looking forward to this video.
This adaptation of the play "The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet", by English playwright William Skakespeare, is simply spectacular! The mixture of elements of theater, ballet, modern dance, music, impeccable costumes and the excellent work of the director and the actors. Good detail to present the interviews behind the scenes… that gives the viewer an idea of the hard work that it means to put on a play. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful performance! Thank you!
25:56–26:04 at the left side of screen. Lol
Cool performance tho!
Thanks for this vid. Aside from the beautiful Kabukicho Romeo & Juliet, you showed another aspect of Japanese culture, mind-set. As you must have discerned from their backgrounds, they started performing arts from a young age. They are a little different from the usual study hard for university exams, then, job-hunting become "sarari-man" group. The biggest surprise for me is Takakesho Shiho! From Furisode to performing arts ex. Romeo & Juliet! Wow! What a versatile talented lady. Interesting differences from Hori-chan, who will be a lawyer soon. Misa chan, manager and power promoter of all things Asakusa. Yuka & Tera chan. Kobo chan. The lady boxer & tough jinriksha driver. The triumvirate of Emi, Lemi & Yuka. Vlogger Yukina. Nina & Tomoni chan singers. Paki & the other ladies covered by JE.
Wow that was a pretty incredible performance. Enjoyed it very much. It had me hooked in. Very nice video.
Outstanding video JE San! ❤🔥
hello from germany. i love your channel and i love japanese people!
Yōroppa no bigaku to dentō-tekina nihonjin no sugureta tōgō. Kono `romiotojurietto' no kaishaku wa hijō ni inshō-tekide mirikitekidesu. Arigatō.
Nice!!
They are all so nice and soft spoken 👍
Really great video, I am in the entertainment business and work with play performances and ballet companies often and love seeing the behind the scenes of other places.
