Interesting. This Tokyo Shitamachi adult entertainment zone near Ueno has relatively high concentration of Vietnam/Philippine/Thailand-themed establishments.
Whoa! I feel scared for JE walking down narrow, dark streets with some yakuza hanging about but JE always finds a way out 😮. Interesting walk. I wonder what the girls holding signs and what they say.

what do you mean by "red light zone"?
What we need is more lights on this building and a flashing sign stuck in road and a sleazy looking pimp and some drugged up looking poster girls. If that doesn't bring in one or two drunken lonely men every night we can always try pumping some crap music out.
And they are so proud of the wonderful achievement they bow their heads in shame. Oh no please don't let me be seen here or it's s nothing to do with me I just happen to be standing here in the centre of the road staring into the abyss
Of course to be fair not all establishments follow this great recipe some of them have tinted glass and highly groomed men in suits giving off the look of we wouldn't let hour type in here we are superior pimps.
But as usual it is all saved by the sheer grace beauty and style of the average Japanese girl who passes serenely through it all with a charming smile in her eyes and cheerful voice enjoying life such that she lights up the night and outshines brightest Tokyo building and leaves me feeling like I'm richer for having seen her and poorer that she passed through my life in 5 seconds of your nightly observations.
You can tell that is a very bad neighborhood. There was litter on the ground. (O_O)
Because of more bright lights and activity, I hardly recognized Yushima. Naturally, this was an interesting walk. I am very pleased that you took us into the subway (Ginza line???). The subway system still accounts for the greatest Tokyo mystery.
One thing that I find interesting in these videos in that you don't see many people smoking in public. Is that frowned upon there? In my experience, a lot of Asians are smokers, but you wouldn't think so from watching these videos.
