The Borough Market is one of London’s most iconic  markets with a market on the site dating back   to at least the 12th century. It’s renowned for  its diverse range of high quality fresh produce,   specialty and artisanal food products. Alongside  that the market also features a vibrant street

Food scene and in this video we are sharing  some of our best vegetarian and vegan street   food discoveries at this historic marketplace.  If you’re new here, Welcome! We are Sakshi,   DJ and little Pixie. We share our travel and  vegetarian food explorations from London, the

UK and around the world, hoping you’ll find your  next food or travel inspiration here. Hi folks and   thanks for tuning in. So I wanted to begin this  video by saying that this is our fifth visit to

Borough Market in the last 10 months and we have  not run out of vegetarian and vegan food options   to try. This is our second video on Borough Market  and we had also done a part one. If you haven’t

Checked it out you can do so, I’ll include the  link in the description box below. So on that note   let’s get into it, excited to dig in. Let’s begin  with what we tried in our previous visit here and

Then we’ll come back to the present day. Tacos  Padre is a Mexican taqueria with several tacos   options and a few specials. The menu includes two  vegan tacos varieties – the cauliflower and the   crispy potato. We sampled both of these and were  blown away. The vegetables were nicely charred,

The sauce added a punch and a dash of fresh  cilantro was so refreshing. It was a great   start to the foodie exploration that day. We  enjoyed two mains that day – the first one was   from an Indian food vendor called Gujarati Rasoi  which offers not only street food options like

Samosa and chat but also stuffed paratha and  thali options. We went with the Triple Thali,   which includes basmati rice along with two  seasonal dry curries and a daal. This is   essentially vegan except the raita which you can  request to be excluded. This was served piping

Hot and was just brilliant. It was a burst of  flavors and a well balanced meal rolled into one. Our next main dish was from a Japanese  vendor called Oroshi. They offer Bento boxes,   Ramen and Barbecue items as well and do offer a  few vegetarian and vegan options in their menu.

We went with an Organic Tofu Ramen which  came with the spicy miso broth, seaweed,   spring onions and mushrooms. It was wholesome  and comforting with light and mild flavors,   a nice contrast from what we had tried earlier  that day. Now back to the present day. Our food

Exploration started at La Tua Pasta, celebrated  for the fresh handmade pasta varieties. So I’m   ready to dig into my first dish, these are  potato truffle croquettes which we got from   the pasta place – and it looks really amazing  because these are slightly different than what

We used we are used to in form of croquettes.  You can’t see like a deep brown coating outside,   so let me try it and let you know how it is.  These are really different croquettes because   you can see here, on the potatoes they got a  filling inside with ricotta cheese and truffles

And I think they coat it with something and  fry it and serve with some parmesan cheese   so everything goes so well and it’s just  like soft, warm, melting moments in your mouth. So I’m ready to dig it into my next dish  which is Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli. And all of

The pasta are handmade and the way you order the  pasta is you choose the pasta which you want and   you choose the sauce which you want and then they  will ask you if you would like to add some cheese

On top of it. So the sauce which we chose is  the pesto sauce as you can see – pesto with the   ravioli. It looks amazing and one good thing about  this is the portion sizes are small so that you

Can eat a lot more variety of foods in Borough  Market. So now I’m ready to dig in so let’s go. The Filling inside is so generously filled,  usually in lot of places you don’t find filling   inside like too much filling. As you can  imagine for handmade pasta – soft, chewy,

Smooth and with the pesto sauce and cheese  – you can’t go wrong with this flavor,   so it’s it was amazing. If you’re looking for  kid-friendly options then La Tua is a good   one. We also got some pasta with red sauce which  was a mild, non-spicy sauce and was just right

For our little one. For dessert we couldn’t  resist stopping by at Humble Crumble to try   their fruit crumble yet again. The crumbles are  customizable and they have a vegan version too   just so you know. So last but not least we had  to have dessert today and from the very popular

Humble Crumble. It’s present in all the popular  markets in London so there’s one at Borough at Old   Spitalfields and Camden. And if you’ve seen  our video from the Old Spitalfields Market,   we did go to Humble Crumble but we tried the  cold custard there and this time we thought

Why not try the hot option. So I went with plums  and blackberries cooked in orange sauce with mixed   berries, vanilla hot custard and topped with  hazel nuts and rose petals. So time to dig in. The hot custard option is even better in my  opinion, the cold custard was very good too but

This one is so feel good, smooth, warm, comforting  on a winter day in London. And again like I shared   in the other video it’s not too sweet and the  overall combination of different ingredients is

Just amazing, and I think it’s worth the hype it’s  not just a viral trend, it’s really good. We had   a second dessert that day when we chanced upon  a vendor called Hook & Son which specializes in   organic dairy products. We sampled the creme  fraiche flavored gelato ice cream which was

Quite nice and the ice cream lovers in our family  enjoyed it immensely. So in conclusion I wanted   to say that whatever we have shared in part one  and in this video and on Borough Market hopefully   gives you an idea of the kind of vegetarian  and vegan options that are available here. But

This is not it there are many more options that  you can try here, we have shortlisted even more   options ike at a Greek place, a Japanese place,  a Malay place and we haven’t gotten around to

Try it yet but we will at some point. But for  now this is it. If you enjoyed this video do   hit like and share it with your friends and  family. If you have any questions leave them   in the comments and do consider subscribing if  you haven’t already. Until next time take care. go
