This place is so amazing. I’ve been a Mario fan for my entire life, and to be able to go to Super Nintendo World Japan was a dream come true. Everything from the design to the merch to the challenges to the food – it was all amazing and incredible and totally unforgettable.
In this video I show you my entire day in Super Nintendo World. I first got a special edition golden Mario power band, then got a Super Star popcorn bucket (which lights up!)
From there we visited Kinopio’s (Toad’s) Cafe and had a blast trying out a variety of Mario themed foods, including the famous Princess Peach’s Cake! It looks like they just ripped it right out of Super Mario 64.
It was such an amazing day full of fun, food, snacks, and Mario themed challenges. What a day, what a trip, what an adventure!

Hey there Tim friends and welcome back to Tim in Japan in this episode we turn dreams into reality Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan let’s warp inside immediately the theming is on point apparently this is what it’s like to travel through a warp pipe wow Mario 64 fans Rejoice we’ve made it
Inside of Peach’s castle complete with the magic paintings and heading just outside we’ve Arrived the architecture the design the quality everything here is truly Next Level it’s like you’ve literally stepped right into Super Mario World first things first got to get a power band oh my God special Edition oh W I had no idea coming in but they were selling these limited edition Mario
Golden Power bands and I had to get one I mean really how could I not yeah Power bands keep track of all of your Park activity from coins to Collectibles to Bowser challenges to Mario Kart ride points it all syncs up in the companion usj app the design of everything is truly
Immaculate as a lifetime Mario fan this was beyond anything I could have imagined every single little detail is perfect even just walking around hearing the ping of the coin blocks taking in the atmosphere it’s like nothing else and being in Japan the birthplace of Mario makes it all the
Better first up we had to grab a popcorn bucket not only is it insanely cool but the perfect accessory got it yaho after walking around a bit taking in the sights we had to check out what kind of special merch they had for sale and they had a
Ton first of all just look at the incredible design of this place spectacular shirts hats plushies snacks Collectibles you name it they got it there’s also these neat little digital kiosks where you can check your progress on your power band and how could I resist having a
Mini Mario fashion show I mean I got to find the best hat right looks like it came out of the blog yeah I loved all of the merch here and wish we had some more luggage space since it was raining though it was a good excuse to pick up this amazing umbrella wow
Walking just outside we got super lucky and I managed to grab a selfie with the Mario Bros sayana next up Yoshi’s snack island or you guessed it a quick snack we ordered Yoshi’s mango lassi and the green shell yakis SOA cheese czone the lassi was sweet and creamy and the Yaki SOA Pond
Oh my God it looked incredible it really looks like a shell yeah and to top it all off it was really Good just strolling around the park is total sensory overload but in the best way possible I love this Place next we made it back for our timed entry to kopio or Toad’s Cafe I love how these power band mini gamess are scattered throughout the park not only are they perfectly on themed but they really capture that sense of Discovery and wonder ever present in the Mario Games I probably sound like a broken record at this point but Toad’s Cafe is truly a Marvel not only is the decor and theming totally on point but the food is actually good and the Ambiance completely unmatched they even have Little Toad Penguins delivering ice to keep your drinks
Cold and we’ve arrived at the main dining room first impression totally jaw-dropping also check out these awesome Mario themed table Trackers while waiting for the food we enjoyed a tasty star themed beverage oh my God it is and the feast has has arrived ah nice wow bye bye based on looks alone 10 out of 10 first dish a cleverly hidden mushroom soup comes with a couple little mushroom
Themed crackers nice and creamy but nothing extraordinary next up the fir flow spaghetti and meat balls cute little parmesan crisp on top and actually quite tasty has that sweetness commonly found in Asian style spaghetti and I got Bowser’s hambagu steak it comes with some greens on top encased in
This cracker-like cage a nice demig glaze sauce ties the whole thing together but honestly the best part is the atmosphere what an amazing thing to be able to eat inside of a giant mushroom with little toad chefs running all around you all of the little touches really add up to this incredible
Experience and the final dish Princess Peach’s cake we could not resist ordering this it looks like they pulled it straight out of Mario 64 the details are spoton the cake itself isn’t bad and I love the little star are topping cookies though they are not kidding when
They say it feeds 3 to four people also this amazing Peach’s note on the cookie unbelievable with lunch out of the way it was finally time to head to Bowser’s Castle for Mario Kart koopa’s challenge I was absolutely stunned at how impressive the castle was made every little detail is simply perfect it genuinely feels like you’ve stepped right into Bowser’s Castle Once inside they set you up with a Mario hat to house your AR glasses the strap is easily adjustable to fit any size Head as usual there is a quick explainer video for how to get on and off the ride by the way the single Rider line can save you a ton of time because of it I actually managed to ride it twice check out the staff dressed like Mario Kart pit crew so
Cool and once you get on make sure to scan your power band to keep track of your score then the magnetic AR glasses will magically snap onto your hat this is honestly the coolest ride I’ve ever been [Applause] on it mixes a live track with an interactive AR overlay creating this
One-of-a-kind interactive gaming ride experience you have a steering wheel with little buttons on it you aim by moving your head and then pressing that button shoots shells at the characters whizzing by the whole thing is insanely fast and chaotic yet so incredibly fun at the end it tells you the winning
Team and shows you some of the high scores of course it empties right into the gift shop which is just as cool as the previous one except this one is specifically Mario Kart Themed has a huge Double Dash fan myself this place hit all the right notes next it was time to try my hand at koopa’s challenges to gain entry to Bowser Jr’s Lair these are a series of interactive mini games with varying obstacles to complete okay so I just did that one
Where you have to touch all the blocks normally it’s up to four people but for me it was just me and one other guy so it was just two of us and at first the guy was like kind of like play all cool but then once it started you know we
Were going like crazy and we won just the two of us we hit all the things we were so excited and I was like high five and I gave this like Japanese guy a huge high five and it was so awesome and on to the next one there are actually six
Challenges in total but I only had time for three which is the minimum you need to get into Bowser Junior’s l thank You there are so many awesome little side activities and Easter eggs baked into this place and this is one of the challenges I didn’t have time to do a Goomba comes racing up the hill while you crank the handle in order to get him to fall back
Down each challenge is housed in its own unique little themed area really adding to the overall experience this interactive touchscreen game gives you a randomly chosen power up and I got to say it felt amazing to be able to shoot Fireballs at Koopa paratroopas in real Life after navigating a really neat little themed tunnel and hitting some giant question mark blocks this challenge was to piece together a puzzle before the B bomb above you explodes even though I was by myself I actually managed to beat it a little feather in my cap
Checking progress through the app and we are in quick note while we’re here you can always check out your current status and standings real time in the app pretty neat and Convenient and this is it Bowser Junior’s Lair scan your power band and these spikes will light up corresponding to the number of challenges you’ve completed as long as you have three you’re in one inside you can see all of the little Easter eggs and Bowser Junior graffiti right out of Mario
Sunshine just like every other inch of this part the theming is next Level so this whole challenge is an AR overlay where you use your body to fight off Bowser’s enemies because I was on the very end it was actually a little bit buggy but it was still a lot of fun whether or not you win actually does depend on everyone’s participation all
That being said though it was a lot of fun and throwing Fireball balls never gets Old and on the way out a little thank you note from Princess Peach herself wrapping things up there was one last thing to do before heading Out ah ending things on a high note excellent way to round out my visit Super Nintendo World Japan wow it was beyond incredible I’ve been playing video games for my entire life and of course Mario and friends constitute a major Cornerstone of my entire gaming catalog visiting
This place was like fulfilling a dream I never knew I even had growing up I couldn’t have imagined that such a place would ever exist let alone that I could actually go there and in Japan of all places it was spectacular overwhelming an incredible experience that was better
Than anything I could have ever expected the design the decor the theming everything was beyond amazing and the staff all seemed to really care about giving you the best experience possible people are dressed up everywhere the challenges are novel fun and interesting and really tie into the whole universe
They’ve done this incredible job matching up the entirety of the mar Mario gaming history with modern technology everything combined culminates into a truly Unforgettable experience I can say without a doubt that I loved my time in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan and I would not hesitate to recommend it to

After visiting both Nintendo Worlds in Japan and Hollywood, I feel that both parks are better in their own ways.
In Japan, there is a lot more different activities to do, with more variety of different foods that are way better than Hollywood's Toadstool Cafe (Except for the Burgers, Hollywood does them better), they also have their own unique headbands which japan's headbands are better, while hollywood's shirts and hats are better. And rides like Mario Kart, compared to Hollywood, takes less time to line up for than in Hollywood. If you are lucky, you can get in to Japan's Nintendo World as early as 7:30am in the morning.
However, unlike Hollywood, there are some days where you MUST book a Timed Entry Ticket (Virtual Line) in order to get to the park, and sometimes you must go to a specialized kiosk to book them. Meeting mascots (except Toad) is much stricter, due to the fact that unlike Hollywood, you are not allowed to have your phone to take pictures with mascots, you must stand in a specific position when you meet mascots, you must pose how the mascot poses for pictures, and you must pay 6000 yen for pictures.
While in Hollywood, it's just you interacting with the mascot, the staff are allowed to use your phone for picture taking, and you are allowed to greet the mascots with how you like to greet them (plushies).
When I met Peach in Japan, the line takes longer compared to Hollywood (30 minutes in Japan). And she would just interact with the staff member every time and only interact with me based on what the staff tells her to do for the first 30 seconds of the meet and greet to fill in that time. When I even tried to greet her with my plushies, she just ignores them.
When I met Peach in Hollywood the line is way shorter (2-15 minutes), and she is even willing to get to know more of my different plushies, and with Toadette being her favourite, she would always be happy to hold her and hug her for the picture-taking. The meet and greet is straight to the point and no nonsense.
this is dope
Truly heaven for Nintendo fans 🍄
