Savdav waterfalls is a monsoon wonder. It is a popular picnic spot during the monsoons. Hundreds of visitors can be seen enjoying the beautiful waterfalls. Here the monsoon stream plunges down about 40 feets over rocks. Milky streams of waterfall roaring is a sight to watch. Reportedly safe to stand below the waterfall and experience the plunging water. Further down the stream does not seem to be deep, as several people could be seen swimming, diving and relishing the moments.
Savdav waterfalls is about 10 km’s from Kankavali town. About 6 km’s detour from NH 66 (formerly NH 17) road between Goa to Mumbai, that runs along the western ghats on the Konkan. The detour is a single road that passes through villages. Drive slowly on this stretch. There is signage board on NH 66. Public transport is not adequate, plan your visit accordingly.
Being a popular picnic spot there are basic snacks stalls that cater to the visitors.
There is a tower next to the waterfalls. Do climb the staircase to get an aerial view of this monsoon wonder and the nearby lush green landscape.
Best season to visit Savdav falls is after the onset of monsoon, say later half of July to September. It is definitely worth a visit during the season if you are in Konkan region of Maharashtra. Do take necessary precautions whenever you visit waterfalls, as it could be slippery and hard to predict water force.
