Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East – Room Review

A video review of the twin room at the Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East in Japan. Located within Sendai’s JR Station, this hotel is extremely convenient if you are arriving in to Sendai by the Shinkansen Bullet Train. We really enjoyed our stay here and it will be high on our list when we visit Sendai again.

A video review of the hotel metropolitan Sendai East in Sendai Japan I’m Chris this is Topher we are yellow productions we do travel guides that are fun informative and entertaining and in this video this is gonna be an abbreviated review we’re basically just gonna show you inside of this room we’re gonna

Sleep in it tonight we’re gonna tell you what we think about it tomorrow it won’t be a full review because we’re always staying here one night so we’re not gonna be walking all around the property even though it’s not a big one but just to start with this hotel located and son

Died really great because it’s right next to the train station actually it’s not next to the train station it’s directly connected to the JR Sendai station which is where the Shinkansen comes in we came in here off the Shinkansen from Fukushima Prefecture from the train to the hotel was probably

A five minute walk or less which is pretty good in Japanese standards all connected and inside and this is one of the newer hotels at the station it was built just a few years ago there’s two metropolitan hotels in the station the East hotel this one is the newer one and

Now let me show you around this room the twin room this is room 1265 a twin room on the 12th floor the room rate we paid for this room was approximately a hundred and sixty US dollars for our state it has two twin beds that are pushed right together

Topher’s and joined the bed there’s a couple of nice fancy Japanese pajamas that have been laid out on this bed maybe I’ll change into this later interesting kind of green lush headboard here with lights that come out the back by the way I like just right now the

Feel of these sheets they’re nice and soft and I like that it comes with two pillows lots of Japanese hotel it only come with one and then my head ends up being too low the clock interestingly enough it’s a it’s a manual clock here

In kind of a wood case and on the head boards they’ve got complimentary bottles of water there’s two of them on either side I love that this doesn’t cost you know five dollars over here is the desk in the room and come over here because there’s something some really neat that

I want to show you on this desk and it’s this thing it’s called handy and it says take me out I am travel buddy and and what really neat about this thing this is in the room it’s an Android device that has free internet access calls you can use like

Web browsing you can even go on YouTube and you can take this around with you during your stay and you can you know the whole time you’re here you can look up some yellow productions videos if you can type yellow productions and see if we get an autocorrect and watch yellow productions

Videos on you’re out and you don’t have to worry about a data plan so I think that is pretty neat there’s also some information here about like massages if you want to get those there is a coffee machine here there’s some Kleenex in the interesting box when we got in these

Desk drawers we got some hotel cinema guides I don’t think we’ll be watching any movies in here is the kind of tea set mmm coffee set but look I love these little like coffee cups I mean these are some creative coffee cups and even these glasses are really interesting glasses

There’s orange and blue and then down here if you want to make tea then they’ve got one of these hot water pots for tea just in here there’s a refrigerator you probably know what refrigerators look like I’m sure you’ve seen at least one in your life and then

Over here there’s this little chair in the corner that was set up just like this when we got in with this table so that you can sit here and look out the window in the daytime and the nighttime you can admire the trains going by it’s

A really great place to stay if you like trains because the trains just kind of come and go right out here which is cool there is a flat panel television placed creatively here in the corner and there is an air filter which you can use to filter and purify the air which color

Wise I’ll point out matches Oh see grills Rimowa suitcase let’s go ahead and come this way this was back the front of the room this is the closet in room it’s not a super deep closet we’ve got about three jackets that are in there and that pretty much fills it up

And an iron usual closet things in there alright so now I want to bring you into the bathroom and to show you the bathroom I’ll show you the toilet and then I’ll show you the other side so the toilet it’s one of these fancy toilet oh my gosh that toilet seat just opened

Did you see that coming you have to come closer and look at this control panel for this toilet this is one of these really fancy toilets that you can have like a bidet in this net and it has three kinds of flush there’s a Eco flush which is a small flush

There’s a light flush and there’s a big flush and then if you want to close the lid you just push this button here look at that toilet over there and I’ll just push this button and hate the lid lifts up and you push the button again and the

Lid goes now wow that’s amazing so now let’s go ahead and take a look at the sink we’ll come down here there’s no amenities on the sink where did they hide them well there’s a drawer underneath the sink that has all the amenities come in here you find this

Amazing selection of things toothbrushes shower caps combs razors hair things even some milky bath things right you can take a bath this room has a big bath area and the entire thing is glassed-in with this door up here there’s a big rain head here there’s a big shower head

There’s even three jets right here big shampoo I’m looking forward to using this and there’s actually like I guess it’s so complicated take a look at this there’s a whole thing here about how to use the handle and the overhead shower so that’s nice that they tell you how to

Do it because often I get in rooms and you can’t figure how to do that and then the final part of this room is this bathtub and I sat in it to show you that this is a large soaking bathtub so you can sit in this bathtub and really

Really get up to your neck because Japanese love to love to soak in hot things I know a lot of hotels you end up with a bath that maybe you can only get like half of you in but not in this bathroom is you can get all the way up

In it and I forgot to mention these because they were in the corner but there’s a little stool that you can sit on and there’s a little bucket on it the Japanese when they wash their hair they like to fill this up and put the

Water out of their head this way so you can sit and there’s a traditional Japanese bucket this room this is uh this is pretty nice for Japanese bathroom most Japanese bathrooms usually aren’t wide enough for me to to stretch my arms out and the last one I was in in

Tokyo the ceiling was about right here so I’ve got quite a bit to go on this one okay Topher do you know what time it is it’s Tovar view time we’re gonna do this one pretty quick so Topher how many Topher’s does this hotel room get four

And a half Topher so we’ll really quickly talk about the pros and the cons and tell you why you should consider staying at this hotel since it’s four and a half two overs the pro great location right at Sendai stations Sendai is very well connected to this whole

Region to the north of Tokyo so it’s really great to use this as a base for day trips particularly staying at the station because if you’re getting on the Shinkansen the bullet train is really just to get to your room to the station you don’t have to get on other trains or

Connect or walk out in the weather so that is really nice the other pro hotel nice and new everything’s great we really love the bathroom this showers the best shower we’ve taken in the last five days here in Japan the beds were soft enough to sleep in the comforters

And sheets were good heating and air conditioning that works all year round was just really nice we really enjoyed this hotel with a caveat to say that we did not eat the breakfast so we don’t know what that’s like we did not use the gym and we also got a pretty good room

Rate a hundred and sixty dollars so if you can find a rate here for $160 that’s what gets the four and a half Topher rating cons I mean what no swimming pool I actually the room could be bigger they have bigger rooms they cost more money

Why wasn’t it five stars I like the Tokyo Station hotel is one that we gave five stars because it has an amazing feel to it this one’s just it’s slightly below me it’s like it’s good it’s good but it’s not like oh the heavens have parted so anyway if you want something
