Hamamatsu is famous for its craftsmanship. In fact, if you’ve ever bought a Japanese car, motorcycle, piano, or keyboard instrument, chances are it was manufactured right here in Hamamatsu. Hamamatsu considers itself the town of music. Hamamatsu Castle was once the headquarters for Tokugawa Ieyasu and played an important role in the unification of Japan. One of the best flower parks I’ve visited is also located here. The wisteria were in bloom and the views were stunning. If you like player pianos and fotoplayers, you will want to visit the Hamanako Orgel Museum in the ropeway station atop Mt. Kanzanji.
