There are over 13,000 people stranded at Narita airport, including us. There is no way out. What should have been a 1 hour 20 min journey to Tokyo’s Narita (NRT) International Airport turned into a miserable 7 hour journey just to get to the airport. We finally made it to the airport to a sight my brother and I have never seen. All the restaurants were closed, McDonald’s sold out of food, and 7/11 had a line of close to 1,000 people waiting to purchase what they got. The only way in is a similar journey to us. People are sleeping everywhere, it’s hot, we missed our flight, had to book an expensive new flight, and will be stuck here for the next 19 hours (granted our next flight is on time).

Faxai Typhoon hit Japan yesterday and its damage killed 3 people, had damage across the city, and shut down express railways, trains, metros, and buses, causing a mini blackout. This is one of Japan’s biggest typhoons to ever hit Tokyo, cutting power and transport, forcing thousands to evacuate.
