On the road again we’re leaving the island of kushu today have you gotten used to driving on the left side uh yes as you can see it’s very smooth in a car it’s quite quite quiet actually because the kids are playing all the time or listening to music So where are we going today we’re going to Hiroshima uh on our way we want to visit the oh I forgot the name again itsu Kashima Shrine I believe something like that um then we head on to our next accommodation for the the next 3 days

And we have to bring the car back to the rental service because we thought as long as we are in hirosima we don’t need the car uh and like 3 days later we pick up a new a bigger one because this one here has been quite yeah too less space not not enough

Space for all our luggage it’s always um how can I say this quite cozy too cozy actually um to really sit comfortably for a longer time so yeah we’ll see the weather looks a little bit cloudy today but it’s much warmer than it has been um on the last past days

Yeah see you in see you Inima What Al this ship Opat I need you we are here on the island of mija Jima um and behind me over there you can see this so-called itsu katsu Shrine I think it’s called ituk katsu no ituk Kashima I’m sorry ituk Kashima one of the most famous sites in Japan and we just took the

Ferry over here like a 10-minute uh ride and we’re greeted by some nice deer and tons of tourists from all over the world um and we found a more quiet path now right at the beach here and we are just walking towards the iima shrine Now I’m So guys let’s be honest is the hassle of taking a ferry out to the ituk Kashima Shrine worth it no matter what day or hour you go you will be greeted by many many many other tourists and they all try to take the same photos for the

Instagram page or whatever and you might have to line up to get a shot without many other faces and even though the temple is quite cute to look at we were a little shocked first about the mass tum around this place we didn’t have much time that day but actually would

Have love to stay a little longer on the island because there are quite a lot of cute shops cafes and restaurants which all looked very inviting and then you also have a chance to go on a hike up the mountain I would have loved to do

That so our recommendation go for it but take your time and don’t rush It good morning from Hiroshima kicha K we are on our way to the peace Park yes Hiroshima Peace park I think we don’t have to explain what hir rosimar is known for we’ve already seen the a bumb dome last night um but we were there quite late so it was dark and

We really want to look around the park that is surrounding the Dome um and there’s supposed to be a museum with some artifacts from the happenings from 1945 and yeah we really want to see that maybe get the kids more educated on topics like this um they are not just in

The past but right now with all the political things happening those are topics I think that are very important to learn about not just for us adults but especially for the Next Generation so yeah the weather is quite nice it’s not Sunny anymore it was this morning when I did some

Laundry uh but it’s still warm enough um I can actually take off the jacket just feel more cozy this way yeah and then we also plan to eat what’s typical for Hiroshima and that’s ok Miaki it’s a local dish well I think they have it in Osaka as well but um

Osaka and her rushima style are different they say and from everything that I heard so far it was like you have to eat it in hirosima it’s even better here so I think we’ll go and find out what the hype is all about see you What’s Up He so we visited hiroshima’s peace Memorial Museum together with a lot of Japanese students and while they had to collect facts and figures for a school assignment we learned about the devastating events and tragic consequences of August 1945 by audio guide believe me when I say many stories

Are extremely depressing to hear but as long as there are still people and countries in this world that are ready to use nuclear weapons these stories need to be told I guess it’s just disgusting What’s your impression after visiting the museum easy to watch not easy to watch no no cider lemon cider lemon Cider so to lighten the mood we took a little walk after the history lesson and then had something to eat the local delicacy of okonomiyaki a very special pancake but look for yourself See This Spe Got [Applause] Hey Noty I Am that one For This Che yeah Chee Spe I This There So alai and me enjoyed the okonomiyaki dishes very much the kids tried some but preferred the dessert afterwards though and then we simply strolled through some stores to get a few essentials because these three kids walls through their growth these days not just mentally but also physically and luckily they are

Still very happy when they see playgrounds though big or small sh sh sh yeah yeah yeah [Applause] after three interesting days in Hiroshima we picked up a new bigger rental car and made our way East to okunoshima Island which is also known as Rabbit Island one Tabbit Island From tanim there is a ferry that will transport you to the island of okushima you can get tickets for only a few Yen at a vending machine inside a cute Cafe and souvenir store don’t forget to buy some rabbit food either in a nice bag at

This menion store or when you when you return the empty bag later you can exchange them for a postcard or there’s also a little kiosk right across near the restrooms and the lady there sells the rabbit food for I think almost half the price in a plastic bag though

Anyways the ferry ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes be sure to check the ferry schedule in advance as it may vary seasonally once on the island you can enjoy interacting with a friendly wild rabbits that inhabit the Area Put Shut off shut off kich from Rabbit Island Rabbit Island Rabbit Island Okun oh I really wanted to hello from okima Rabbit Island we are not that far away from Hiroshima actually on our way to Osaka good uh but we stopped for a little trip took a ferry like 10-minute Ferry out to

Okishima Island which was an Island used in the second world war for um I think the production of like poisonous gas and stuff like that and they had a few what we would call Pets you know like rabbits things like that animals um just to do some experiments on on them

And after the war people were told to kill them but instead of killing the rabbits they released them into the wild and now centuries later this island has tons of rabbits the kids love it so much it’s like a petting zoo for them um yeah so

We bought some snacks for them and uh we actually plan to take a walk around the island which is supposed to take like 2 hours maybe but I don’t know how long we’ve been here probably an hour and a half already and we made maybe 500 M so

Far because the kids are always just stopping to see the rabbits to feed them to pet them very cute so Cute Hello come on than You I know that’s So it’s now November here in Japan so the weather is a bit cold today 5Β° actually but over there there’s a little Beach area and over there there’s a camping area and I can imagine that during summer it’s a really nice place to come here and uh go swimming and um do some Camping [Applause] See On Rabbit Island you also find the hotel which is supposed to have a nice restaurant and even a pool we’ve only seen the outo facilities and to be honest well they looked like they had seen better days My got this C oh Oh We spent an entire afternoon on Rabbit Island so much that we actually missed the last Ferry during daylight luckily there was another one good 90 minutes later but every second was worth it the fresh air felt vitalizing nature was simply beautiful and then with all these rabbits well the kids are still raving

About them hello you made it bank and did you take a rabbit with you no but the kids would have liked to yeah but to they want to eat pizza rabbit that was our time in Hiroshima and then on Rabbit Island for the night we stayed

At a cute Guest House another 45 minute ride away further east especially EMT liked that accommodation a lot because of the capsule design but this was just a short stop on our way to the next adventure in Osaka if you are interested in that tune in again next Sunday
