This is Fox Village heaven for anyone who loves fluffy and playful furry friends there are over 100 foxes living here and eight different kinds we mostly saw silver foxes a few Platinum foxes and the classic red fox it’s located in zoo in Miyagi prefecture to get there

From Tokyo Station you will want to take the to hokushin Consin to shiroishi Zao train station from there you can take a bus or taxi which takes about 20 minutes it costs 1,500 Yen for adults and their open hours are roughly 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

But they change every year so make sure to check their website in advance I’d also recommend calling in advance if you can just in case as it’s a long way to go and you’d hate to make it all the way there only to find it closed My so cute oh my Gosh he asked so nicely too like please food please at the Village you can purchase some Fox treats to give to the foxes in the designated areas many of the foxes come to greet you either asking for treats or looking to eat your shoelaces they are often chatting amongst

Themselves about the pesky visitors in their Village or more likely just asserting their dominance you can visit any time of the year we visited in Winter during the New Year holiday so it was a bit crowded it was also very warm for this time of year so many of the

Foxes were resting to keep cool in the spring the adorable baby foxes are born the summer is when the weather is hot and the foxes shed their winter coats and in the fall you can see the beautiful Autumn Leaves matching well with the red fox coats so this is kit Village kit it’s

Called kitura in Japanese uh so I came here like when I was in university at the time was like basically like pretty similar to this but like they were really active like they were like running around and like many many like like I guess yeah the quite same numbers

But the thing is like you could just pet like everywhere it was not it was allowed you could pet them time yeah oh my gosh yeah I remember I did did they bite you uh I mean like you are not going to like as soon as you don’t go aggressive but

At the time it was not like there’s not quite like strict rule yeah so there’s nothing like kind of AO like just be careful you know foxes in ancient Japanese folklore are said to be tricksters and Messengers to Greater Gods such as the anari God if You’ visited the Fushimi anari Shrine or

Thousand gate Shrine in Kyoto you’ve seen many statues depicting these mischievous beings the fox God is said to bring good luck and prosperity to business and agriculture it’s little apartments one LDK where we going now uh we can hold the fox P there’s a like kind of experience oh oh no he likes your shoes a lot oh my gosh okay okay okay later we were able to hold a fox it was an additional fee

Of 700 Yen and the only times to do so are 11:00 a.m. and 2: p.m. The Village staff takes extra precaution to prevent parasites within the facility all foxes are born and raised in the village and there are annual checks and deworming treatments but just in case they made

Sure we wore jackets to protect our clothing and sprayed our hands with alcohol afterwards a how do they feel Soet yeah I want one yeah yeah better than a dog is it soft he’s quite soft actually really this fur is so nice thank you is he sleeping no no he’s awake uh-huh so chill Man compared to the other foxes he must be quite warm you’re right it was

So cool getting to hold of fox it was so soft and gentle and I seriously wanted to take one home with me overall I would highly recommend visiting Fox Village it was such a unique experience and we had a great time also if you’re able to rent

A car and stay the night Zhao is a really peaceful and beautiful part of the Japanese Countryside you can visit one of the many amazing on sense there see the snow monster tree Z is famous for go snowboarding take a pottery class or eat amazing soba there’s so much to

Do and it’s a relaxing change from the Tokyo City Life thanks for watching and I hope you get a chance to visit sometime
