Hi everyone, welcome to the Travelplanify YouTube channel 😉 Currently, we are in the Kamakura area of Tokyo In Kamakura, we are currently exploring the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shinto shrine. It is one of the most important Shinto shrines in Kamakura. It has two museums inside and many cultural festivals take place here only.

Currently, it is just a Shinto shrine. But 700 years ago, it was also a Buddhist Temple In front of the shrine, there is a 1.8 km straight street. We will cover that street in our next video. There are three giant Torii gates on that street.

During the New Year holidays, it registers around 2 million visitors. In mid-April and September, horseback archery is performed here. There are two ponds here in the shrine complex. One pond is on the right side, while the other one is on the left side.

This one is Genji Pond. There is the Hataage Benzaiten Shrine in the center of the pond. There was a large ginkgo tree until 2010 in this shrine. Every autumn, that tree turned into a beautiful golden color. However, it got uprooted in the Winter storms of 2010.

In the next video, we will be covering another spot in Kamakura. Thanks for watching the video up to here. We will see you in the next video Please like, share, and subscribe for more upcoming videos.
