I live in Ohio. I only went to Okinawa for a month. I would love to go back and see my wife's relatives again.
Actually, that's my fault. I made shorter webisodes so that people could jump around to topics that interest them. It works for some people, but not everyone. You can buy my DVD on Amazon if you want to watch it all straight through.
wow so many people like tug-of-war so fascinating I wanna try
becasuse tug-a-war is there culture mate
i live here its so hottttttttttttttttttttt
cool shuri castle i remember that from call of duty:world at war final fronts
what kind of wheather is it in Okinawa ? subtropical og tropical?
@steve884 I believe it is considered sub-tropical.
@thegreatman99 Not everybody who's stationed in Okinawa ends up being worthless pieces of trash, you know. It's always a few morons who love to ruin it for everyone. One of the things the military tries to do is work together with locals to foster good relations between America and other nations. There's a very strict policy of deporting people who break the rules for those good relations, so I don't know what you're talking about. I lived there for 3 years and didn't hurt anyone.
@AgileHProductions
why would you upload videos for free that others have to pay for?
@NVIH I`m actually pretty indifferent. The bases bring a lot of money to Okinawa, but I understand why some people want them gone. I would prefer to bring some US Troops home from all over the world and save the US tax payers some money. Some people find military culture interesting and that:s why I have included it in the video. It:s nothing political on my part. You should watch episode 12 in my series.
hey … i like your videos of okinawa. i want to visit it in the coming year and i was wondering if it is expensive there ?
@tonypittbull72 Prices in Okinawa are cheaper than the mainland. I find them similar to Columbus, Ohio where I live. It is the kind of place that could be very cheap or expensive depending on how you like to travel.
thanks for getting back to me and for the info.
@thegreatman99 Excuse me but Okinawa is not Japan. Okinawa is Okinawa and Japan is Japan. Unfortunately, they now share a common flag.
Watch planes take off from US military bases! That is disgusting. I think you should question why the US has a military base there and ask what do people think about that!
@elhorreya I'm not pro or con about the bases in the video. I'm just describing the stuff you can see on the island. Personally, I would like to see the U.S. bring most of their troops home. I think history tells us why there is a base in Japan. This is a place the U.S. initially tried to stay out of before they were attacked.
@rosswoof That's exactly what I was going for. I was going for an outsider's perspective. The idea of being on an adventure in a new place. I didn't try and glamorize it. I tried to show people my experience of being in Okinawa for the first time. I tried my best to be a respectful guest while I was there.
As far as the military is concerned, whether you like it or not, it is interesting to a lot of people. Out of 25 episodes I made, only one was dedicated to the U.S. Military presence.
@rosswoof (cont.) I don't think that is overdoing it by any means. There is a U.S. military presence there and I thought it was important to talk about it at least a little because I think it shapes the culture of the island for better or for worse.
@AgileHProductions Hey Brother, you did an excellent job. These videos are awesome and they help out alot of people coming to Okinawa. Don't listen to HATERZ like rooswoof. I disagree with him as well. There is alot of Okinawans that like us Marines here. My wife is Okinawan and I have lived here for 7 years and love it. Of course we are not perfect and have our flaws. About the planes taking off, thats pretty cool that you captured what people see here everyday. Thank you SEMPER FI !

Oh, please help me find an audio recording of the song my father used to sing to me when he came home from Okinawa. It went: Sa-ra-ba Okinawa yo…" I am 61 and would love to have this so very, very much. Thanks so much.
@umlighthouse Wish I could, but I only know the names of a couple of Okinawa songs. hai sai oji-san!
Hey, I'm Chastina and I'm 28. I have a 8 month old girl name Aaliyah and we wanna move to Okinawa. I wanna move her there at lest by her 5th birthday on the 1st of Aug. My E-mail is HakuAngel5000@yahoo.com. Please send me some pic of some homes and the price of them. Oh, and how do you get a pass port and how much are they? If you can help me with any of this, thanks a much!!! 😀 <3
I've lived in Okinawa for many years and see both sides of the issue. My father is a Marine, my mom was born and raised in Okinawa. There are complaints/issues about noise pollution and the safety of the aircraft flying so close and low. There have been incidences of rape from Marines and Air Force men towards local girls. But these behaviors are from a few, not the majority. Def. need more training in culture/custom sensitivity though. But if it wasn't for the bases, we'd have less greenery
I am speaking from personal experience, but I felt more compassion and tolerance for the military than the Japanese. Japan really hurt Okinawa during the war, and the U.S. military helped more than it hurt. Most Okinawans don't mind the U.S. presence, but would definately like to start seeing it scale back a bit. Better cultural training for the airmen and Marines would help a lot too.
I'm sorry. I don't have a real estate license. I hope you are able to live your dream in Okinawa.
Ok, thanks you! =^_^= <3
Okinawa only shares the the flag of Japan. The people of Okinawa hate the Japanese.
You personally have native Okinawan relatives? Well eeeexcuuuuse me! What do I know about Okinawa? Well, my mother was born in Naha and her maiden name is Jahana. She watched the Japanese torture and killed other Okinawans. They even killed her oldest brother. All this was done during the Japanese occupation before being liberated by the Americans in WOrld War II. I know nothing about the contempt the Okinawans have for the Japanese? Be for real! The younger generation doesn't have a clue.
I don't want to get into any kind of debate with you. It's clear that you nor I was on the islands during WWII. My mother was and she witnessed first hand at the atrocities committed by the Japanese and no, she has never identified herself as a Japanese. Her hatred for the Japanese was life long. I, on the other hand, have a different opinion about the Japanese now that I've worked with them. They are some of the most honorable and honest people I've ever met. Americans could learn from them.
I'm not judging the Okinawan people. I love them. I am them. I don't know how the younger generation feel but I do know how the older generation feel or the majority of them once felt. I'll agree that the crimes committed by members of the USMC should cause justifiable anger towards them but many Marines love the people and the islands. Like I said, my mother witnessed first hand of the atrocities the Imperial Army of Japan unleashed on the native people of Okinawa.
I belive you can get a pass port from a DMV, but im from Naha, Okinawa. The cost of living is very expensive, you can message me with more questions if you would like.
Thanks! 🙂 I like small town though. Quiet and small. With easy walk to jobs from the house, ya know? 🙂 Thanks, I'll try to call a DMV, thanks so much! I LOVE JAPAN!!!! sorry….i fangirled over japan…. :") <3 lol
THANK YOU!!!
How much?
I spent a total of 6 years there while on active duty. I would love to go back!
