Light music, relax music,

Kyoto is a city of contrasts where the ancient  and the modern coexist in the previous episode   we saw how kioto comes alive at night with  dazzling lights Lively music and bustling   people but what about the morning how does Kyoto  greet the new day in this episode we will show

You the Serene and peaceful s of Kyoto in the  early hours let’s go we arrived at kuraguchi   station around 7:00 after taking the subway  from downtown Kyoto the morning air was crisp   and fresh and the sky was clear and blue the  city below us was still quiet with only a few

Cars and pedestrians on the road we decided to  start our morning Adventure from here joseni   Temple located in joseni town kikoku is one of  the oldest temples in Kyoto it belongs to the   pure land sect of Buddhism and is famous for  being one of the six cagara pilgrimage sites

The highlight of the temple is the kitaba hall  where a wooden statue of kitaba from the early   hean period is entrained the other five statues  are distributed in different temples in Kyoto and   they are collectively known as the Roku jizo six  sagaba the six cagara pilgrimage is a traditional

Of an event that dates back to 800 years ago Jenji  Temple has a spacious and Serene atmosphere it is   also close to the kiga river and shimogamo  Shrine making it a conven venient spot for sightseeing we strolled along the river for a  while and reached ciga kamua is a place that

Never looks the same the night before we had  a blast watching the lights of kamua in the   Kachi Area episode 17 where you could find  all sorts of people having fun the morning   in Kyoto was awesome the sky was clear and we  got to see the amazing Sunrise from Mount hay

And mount dongi there were people jogging and  walking on the ciga prominade which was cool   Koto folks were doing all kinds of stuff  like exercising and walking their dogs it   felt great to be by the river or on the bridge  Kyoto is a gorgeous City with its own natural

[Music] beauty we made it to shimogamo after  crossing the bridge this is where kurarama   Street begins shimogamo shrine is the most famous  place around here we had been to shimogamo Shrine   before when we came to Kyoto last time this time  we took a different way and saw another entrance

To the shrine you can take different options  from Kyoto station car Mari or sh check out   the link below the video for more info shimogamo  Shrine changes with the seasons and it’s always a   lovely place to visit we’ll show you the best  things to see and do at shimogamo Shrine and

Some hidden gems too we arrived at shimogamo  Shrine and saw a stunning display of red and   yellow leaves the wind was blowing gently making  the leaves dance and fall to the ground the trees   looked sparse but still beautiful shimogamo  Shrine is one of the best places to see the

Autumn colors in Kyoto it’s also the last  place in the city where you can enjoy them   while other spots like arama have already lost  their leaves shimogamo Shrine still has a lot of   vibrant colors to offer the shrine buildings look  amazing with the backdrop of the colorful foliage

Shimogamo Shrine is a huge complex with many areas  to explore and admire the nature let’s go and see [Music] [Music] more if you have an important contract to sign or  a project to complete you might want to visit

The little Shrine near the entrance of shimogamo  shrine they are dedicated to the god of seals and   contracts who can grant you success and luck in  your ende you can also check out the shrine wear   staff used to make food offerings for the  Gods on special occasions it’s a national

Important cultural property and it has replicas  of ancient stoves utensils and dishes that show   you how people cooked and ate 2,000 years ago  you can learn a lot about the food culture and   history of Japan at this place shimogamo Shrine  is a super old and awesome place in Kyoto it has

Two parts East and and West and they are both  super important and cool the main hall has two   shrines one for each part the West one is for the  God who made kiyoto happen and the East one is for

His wife they are both super powerful and helpful  the God can help you with all kinds of stuff like   winning battles getting rid of bad vibes and  passing tests his wife can help you with things   like looking good finding love and having kids  they also care about the world and want it to

Be peaceful and prosperous the main hall is behind  a big gate that’s also super old and fancy it was   built a long time ago and it looks amazing the  main hall itself is even more amazing and they

Rebuild it every 21 years to keep it fresh the  whole place is full of history and beauty and   you can feel it when you walk around there are  already some people who came to pray and look   around in the morning the shrine is a precious  cultural heritage of Japan and it honors the

Seven gods of Fortune so the locals call it Dao  kusama with affection the shrine also has the 12   animals of the zodiac which makes it more fun  and special than a regular Shrine we got there

Too early and the shop selling charms was still  closed we didn’t want to waste time so we decided   to explore the Vermillion bridge and the mitay  river below it the river is one of the shrine’s   Seven Wonders and it has a mysterious phenomenon  sometimes when the water level is high pure water

Springs out from the river or the pond miteri  Pond is a beautiful spot near the main Shrine   of shimogamo shrine it gets its clear water  from a spring under anoe Shrine which is also   called MIT Shrine this Shrine is for the god  of protection from evil spirits and people come

Here to purify themselves during fasting periods  the water from the pond becomes the mitay river   which runs South through the forest of Tatsu the  pond looks amazing with the red buildings blue   sky and green plants around it when the Sun hits  the water it Sparkles like a jewel if you want

To stay healthy and have some fun you should  check out the MIT festival at shimogamo Shrine   people come here to get blessed and purified  by the shrine priests it’s a huge party with   thousands of people showing up every year lots  of food stores and a lively atmosphere this is

Where the yummy snack mitashi Dango comes from you  know those sticky rice balls on a stick with sweet   sauce on top they look like the bubbles in the  miteri pond which is pretty cool the ones they

Sell here have five balls on each stick but  the first and the last one are a bit apart   from the others that’s because they represent  the head and the limbs of a [Music] person one   of Kyoto’s three big festivals the AOE Matsuri  takes place at shimogamo shrine the AOE Matsuri

Has a long history that goes back to the hean  period about 1,400 years ago on the day of the   AOE Matsuri there is a big parade that goes from  the Kyoto Imperial Palace to shimogamo Shrine and

Kamigamo Shrine covering about 8 kilm you can see  people dressed up like The Nobles of the hean era   riding on carts decorated with Holly hot leaves  it’s like going back in time to ancient Japan [Music] the forest is called Zeno noori and  it is one of the oldest forests in Kyoto it

Covers an area of 124,000 sare M and was  declared a National Historic Site it is   home to many old and Majestic trees some of  which are over a 100 years old the forest is   a great spot to relax and enjoy nature you can  find some shade under the trees and cool off

From the summer heat in Autumn the forest  turns into a colorful spectacle of red and   yellow leaves shimogamo Shrine is famous for  its Autumn foliage and we were lucky to see   it when we visited the leaves were still on  the trees shining brightly in the sunlight

The contrast between the green moss and the  red leaves was stunning shimogamo Shrine is   a place where you can connect with the past and  the present and appreciate the beauty of Kyoto Kawai Shrine is a sacred place where women  can seek Divine guidance for their beauty and   happiness the most unique feature of Kawai Shrine  is the mirror shaped dimer these are wooden plars   that people use to express their wishes to the  gods the mirror represents your face and you

Can draw or write on it anything you want many  people believe that this will make them more   attractive and confident in themselves one of the  most striking features of shimogamo shrine is its   bright red Pagoda gate it’s a great spot to take  photos and admire the architecture but there’s

More to see and do at this Shrine than just the  gate you can explore the grounds enjoy the nature   and learn about the history and culture of Kyoto  instead of rushing to see all the popular sites

Why not slow down and Savor the places that catch  your eye you can stroll around the neighborhood   chat with locals and discover hidden gems that’s  how you can have a fun and memorable day in Kyoto
