I’m a firm believer that knowledge is power just like many things in life the more you know about something the easier it seems and the same really goes to cruising it can be really overwhelming in a sense especially when you’re trying a new cruise line for the very first

Time so that’s why in today’s video we’re going to be taking a look at 10 things that you need to know before you step on board MSC cruises for your cruise vacation let’s get started precious vacation time we want to make sure that you optimize every bit so for

Those of us who might not be as familiar with MSC cruises as some of the other American lines I want to just let you know that they just launched their newest ship the MSC Seascape which is operating out of Miami it’s the fourth ship in the Evo class I bring this up

Just because this first tip you might want to take advantage of because MSC is the fastest growing Cruise Line in the region of South Florida they’re really getting our attention as they should hear and you’re going to want to take advantage of an offer that they have

Been running for quite a while which is status matching this is beautiful now if you are a brand new Cruiser you can use this or if you’ve cruised other Cruise Lines before this is where you’re going to want to take advantage of this so I went ahead and actually just did this

After my second MSC Cruise shame on me of course for not doing this sooner here that’s why I want to pass on the knowledge to you but you can go ahead and status match with previous cruises I’m a little bit of a sampler here that

Is somewhat of what I do here on this channel so if you’re new welcome I do a lot of different cruise lines I try and have a lot of different experiences and share that knowledge back on to you so I often do a little bit of this and a

Little bit of that so I encourage you to subscribe if that sounds interesting but point being is that I took the cruise line that I have the highest number of Loyalty Rewards points and I verified that with MSC and basically went through their process and I was able to achieve

Gold status with MSC so super cool I’m excited to have my gold card on my next MSC cruise and if this is your very first cruise you don’t have any status on another cruise line that you can match you’re in luck because they actually take Marriott points as well

Hotel points so perhaps you have some loyalty points in another Avenue that you can look into you can check it all out online I encourage you to do this prior to your Voyage get your voyager’s Club number set ready to go so that way it’s smooth sailing once you get on

Board I did try to get this squared away while I was on board and they told me to do it after the cruise I needed to do this within two months of your sailing afterwards if you do do it after the fact so there’s your first tip to know

Before you go is getting that situated it’s really important because this is going to make you available for discounts now speaking of cruise cards showing our voyagers club number along with the status here perhaps you want to get rid of your voyagers card altogether you don’t love carrying that around and

You would love a wearable device well guess what they have those as well I learned a lot on my last MSC Cruise so I’m excited to share this as well that you can get a MSC wristband on board so learned this that you can head on down

To the photo area also where they have the internet desk and this is where you can purchase one for five dollars now if you’re in an aria Suite or if you are in a yacht club as well type cabin category you will be able to get this for free so

That’s an added bonus but if you’re in a regular experience room and for those who might not know MSC breaks down their cabin categories into Bella which is the very basic experience and then from there they have different experiences up with Arya and Yacht Club at the very

Highest and another one in between but point being though is that if you don’t want to carry around these here’s all of my cards I do keep these little side note um I did find from a friend recommended to me a really awesome pouch of keeping these because I’m actually running out

Of space I’m gonna go ahead and Link that in my Amazon shop down below so you can check it out it’s super cute it hasn’t come in yet but it’s world maps so if you want to keep your cruise cards as little mementos of all of your

Previous cruises I encourage you to do that it’s a fun and free way to have some fun souvenirs but if you don’t want to carry around those Cruise cards on the cruise you can go ahead and get yourself a wristband there’s a couple different things that you can do with

This wristband that is kind of cool it’s waterproof for one so you can keep it on when you’re swimming it replaces your cruise card meaning that you can charge with it so whether you’re at the bar shopping what have you you can go ahead and make all of those purchases and

Booking any Services as well like Cruise excursions things of that sort or checking your photos as well on those kiosks you just swipe that and so instead of your card and also unlocking your cabin door so really kind of an ease of convenience and kind of a fun

Fashion piece as well I like it the next thing that you should know is keeping with wristbands is that for the youngest kiddos the kids on board here anyone who’s under 12 will actually get a complimentary wristband and this one is actually mandatory but if they’re going

To wear it throughout the entire cruise and this is of course for those youngest kiddos safety they’re going to wear it for in case of emergency it’s going to have their muster station on it just like the information that would be on that cruise card so just in case if

You’re a toddler kid kiddo has any type of Affliction to putting it on their wrist let them know that you can actually put it on your ankle as well if they’re like a baby I saw that happen as well just something for you to know that

You will get that right when you get on board and then you’re also going to get all of the great kids information for the the kids club you’ll head over to Delray Milan get them set up with the orientation on board and all of that helpful information is really great when

You first get on board so make sure you make that quick stop to get that wristband and then you can get off on the right foot for all of the kids club information if you have some kids that you’re traveling with here’s a big one in my opinion is the internet so MSC

Offers two different main packages this is where if you look link up your voyagers you can also get a discount on the internet everyone needs to stay connected or seems to need to stay connected these days whether or not you want to disconnect but lo and behold you

Can save some money keep that money in your wallet spend it elsewhere on your cruise vacation because if you purchase it ahead of time you get a deal but their internet actually operates in two different ways they have the browse package out of the brows and stream

Package here the streaming is a little bit stronger and you they have both of those available so if you’re wanting to watch Netflix YouTube videos like this one or um other type of you know Pandora other type of Music Services things of that sort you want to make sure that you’re

Not buffering or any dealing with any like large files of videos you’re going to want to go ahead and get the streaming uh but if you’re just doing this simple sharing on Facebook things of that sort sharing on Instagram stories those will maintain and work fine with just the Brows but what is

Kind of interesting about how they set up their Internet Packages that’s really important to know before you get on board is that it’s set up to where you can’t transfer the devices and log out of the devices this is the way it operates at this time so really

Important so if you happen to have three devices perhaps you have your cell phone your laptop and a tablet you’re going to want to purchase an internet package for those three devices and not just say for two or for one because on other cruise

Lines you can log out of one device at a time boot one out to get that other device I on and kind of switch and play around in that sense so that you can kind of not have purchase three devices but it doesn’t work that way on MSC they

Want you to purchase for three so if I link and log in with my cell phone I cannot log out and I have my computer logged in whatsoever so that’s not my favorite way for that program internet to be set up I do not like that I wish

It was different but that’s just the way it is and it’s really helpful to know because if you’re going to get a discount and purchase ahead of time just know how many devices you need it for especially if you’re traveling with other people and you’re thinking about

Sharing you won’t necessarily be able to and of course if you need any help with setting up your internet on board you can head over to the photo desk they will help you out with the internet and photo and also where you get your wristbands that location there is great

For that and on the Seascape the newest ship that’s Deck six the next thing that we’re going to talk about is specialty dining here so there’s specialty dining are packages that you can buy into now I will say and preface this that you can actually dine in the specialty dining

Restaurants a la carte but it’s really encouraged for them to work into these pricings so we have the duo as the first package and that includes two predetermined restaurants which is butcher’s cut and kaito Teppanyaki next we have Trilogy which offers three restaurants and it actually swaps kaito

For Ola tacos and cantina and then you have Ocean Key and butcher’s cut so these are predetermined you can’t necessarily swap these out so perhaps you don’t like seafood and ocean key is a seafood restaurant kind of interesting there and then the fourth one is the finest of all four all of the

Restaurants for those who are traveling with kids and they’re under 13 the package pricing you don’t have to purchase for them they can go ahead and just order off of the kids menu which will be a la carte for them so that’ll save you money in that regard but it’s

Kind of interesting on how they set up the packages and this is kind of where if you do purchase a package I encourage you to square away the those dining reservations when you first get on board to make sure because a lot of people will purchase those packages and

Purchase them for perhaps the four or the trilogy and so that means that there’s a lot of people going to these special designing restaurants and so Prime dinner times may fill up fast it’s just something you to keep note of if you’re enjoying these tips so far and

You want to know about navigating the ship I want to encourage you as well but I do have an entire ship tour of this brand new cruise ship the Seascape as well now these tips are general for MSC but if you want to know even more of the

Finish with this one we’re halfway through let’s continue on and the last thing that I will note about the internet on board is that when you go to Ocean Key which is msc’s private Island Marine reserve in the Caribbean here you’re going to want to make sure that

You disconnect from the ship Wi-Fi and get onto the islands Network because it’s actually a different network of Internet so just something to note that if you get back on and you had logged off and you can’t get the internet to work when you’re back on the ship it’s

Just you have to switch networks and that’s something simple but something that you might need to know and make your life a little easier and save yourself perhaps that trip down to deck six for the internet desk the next thing you need to know about is msc’s

Drink packages here there’s quite a few with the easy package easy Plus premium beverage package along with the alcohol free packages and a miners package now this is kind of confusing in the sense that they have some restrictions on how these are all laid out and just at the

Very basic beginning package that easy packages includes house wines draft beer selection of cocktails along with those mixed drinks and non-alcoholic drinks but this is where it throws you for a loop in the sense that if you are taking advantage of their specialty dining packages the duo the trilogy or all four

Dining rooms and you want to get some of the cocktails and perhaps those restaurants you can so this is where it excludes the specialty dining restaurants along with the coffee and chocolate shop and gelato shop which is venichi on the Seascape so that’s something just to note along with

A Lavazza coffee shop or Crepes and gelato and the star ship Club on other ships you will have to purchase a different package here so just kind of one of those quirks in that regard here and if you are hanging out on Ocean key though the happy to report that even at the

Earliest or beginning package that easy package if you’re getting off an ocean key that that will work so that’s a plus there so you can enjoy all your Island time all of your Beach time and have that on the island and then where it does also extend on the ship is the bars

The buffet and the main dining room restaurants just not those specialty now depending on what ship that you book this may very more importantly on something others but on their newest Flagship they are recommending that you book your shows so Showtime on the MSC Seascape is actually three different

Times here there’s six nights worth of shows on board different entertainment Broadway production style shows and within those three different times they recommend that you book it through the app the MSC for me app or you book it through uh the boards and the screens throughout the ship and go ahead and

Select your time swiping your wristband or swiping your card and booking that through that way now if you show up a few minutes late like I I do they won’t actually even scan your card and you’ll just kind of have to see about finding a

Seat but if you are one who wants to show up early the way that they are stating that they’re doing it is that you’re going to go and show up and scan your card and if you perhaps didn’t have a reservation for that show time you’ll

Kind of have to wait and see they’ll see to you before the show starts but it will have to wait just to make sure that they’re not at capacity if it’s close to being at capacity so that’s how that kind of operates a quirk for MSC is how

You settle your bill on board here so they give you the opportunity to enjoy your cruise a little bit up to a certain dollar amount before you have to figure out about attaching a credit card to your account or paying with some cashmullah now either way you do it is fine you can

Do so with some of these kiosks and credit card machines throughout the ship they’re often looking pretty close to the atrium and guest services I found some on board that actually accept cash which is pretty convenient if you want to settle your bill with cash or just go

Ahead and link your credit card I don’t understand why the credit card doesn’t stay linked to your account when you do the check-in process online but you can go ahead and Link that credit card and then making sure that the rest of your cruise is smooth sailing in regards to

Purchases and this is also something that kind of important to know is that when you link your credit card and you’re ready to get off the ship on that last day you’ll want to make sure you do that otherwise it’ll give you a hard time getting off you got to sell a

Little available for hand who knew right but getting off and you always know it’s time to get off the ship the day the night before when everyone puts out their luggage ahead of time and this is where some of our tips here know before you go link into each other because if

You have Voyager Club Status you might actually get a preferred disembarkation time to what you um to what applies to your schedule if you’re looking to get on off the ship first or even getting on the ship as well first but also if you wanted to

Perhaps stay on the ship a little bit later and be one of the last people off you can actually get late disembarkation from your cabin which I don’t know of any other cruise line that does this but I think that’s really cool that they do

It’s a perk to the voyagers club at a certain level they’ll offer this to you so something to keep in mind perhaps you just don’t want to leave I mean who really wants to leave their Crews I’m always a little bit of Shopper on board

My cruises but I love when there is a deal on board and this is one of my favorites here that I loved and took advantage of in a couple different areas is the daily special so on my most recent MSC cruise I didn’t purchase the drink or the dining package but I did

Get to experience a little bit of both in that regard because of those daily specials and deals so you can go ahead and head over to my website alanazingano.com and check out the daily planner and you can see every single one of these daily specials that they offer

Along with all the daily activities as well I have that posted on my website but one in particular or a few in particular that I found that tickled my fancy worth saving my money is if I wanted to grab a sail away drink they had specials along with sail away dinner

This is where you can save up to 20 off on that specialty dining from the a la carte menu at butcher’s cut or ocean or kaito sushi you can also save for on certain days they have mojito specials for two hours at a specific bar same goes for Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas and

They also had lunch specials for 20 off in specialty dining and that wasn’t for a specific restaurant that was just for General so a nice way to enjoy perhaps a sea Day lunch and then also sushi sushi lovers Rejoice because it was all you can eat sushi sushi nagiri Sashimi on

The rotating sushi belt yum and that was for available for 45 minutes and it was 33 dollars plus a 15 service charge so if that’s something that perhaps would interest you saving a little bit of money you want to sample some of these things with the drinks and sample some

Of the specialty dining but you don’t want to get a whole get a whole package you can check that out and keep an eye out for them on the planners as well and if you aren’t sure you can look at the days you know ahead of time perhaps if

You’re going on Seascape looking ahead and knowing okay they offered this Sushi all you can eat on such and such day I gotta look out for that so you know the planners will know and and appreciate that advice but if you’re flying by the seated pants like me we’ll just open up

The planner and see where the wind takes us here depending on who you’re cruising with and your own personal style heel will depend on if all of the amusement options are going to tickle your fancy on board here on the MSC Seascape the newest Flagship there’s quite a bit and

Then they actually offer some different packages as well for you to keep uh mindful of within the Hall of games which is basically the arcade they had some adult only 20 off sale so if you get if you wanted to sample some of this but not package purchase an entire

Package you you could but that was a one day flash sale that you can look out for as well if you also want to ride Robotron you want to do some of Formula One racing or if you want to do any of the 3D or anything in that regard also

Note that they have they have some packages to where you can buy a certain dollar amount and they throw in free play so you’ll get an extra forty dollars or so of free money to spend within the Hall of games which is pretty cool and also you can purchase all of

That online ahead of time as well so all of the pricing to have some fun on board and especially a nice way to monitor how much you allow your kids to spend as well if you limit it to perhaps two hundred dollars and then they get the

Free play on board I mean that’s a lot of arcade play a lot of times on Robotron Embassy is really known for their parties on board and my goodness they’re a lot of fun there’s some themings though that I want you to know about so you can come prepared for your cruise if

You’re one who wants to get involved dress up know that throughout a seven day cruise you’re going to want to pack in that suitcase some extras and with that being your first party is the sail away party you don’t really need any extras for that except for yourself and perhaps a good

Time a good attitude for your good times you can wave away everyone in the port and say see you later but then your next party for that evening is the glow party from there you have the tropical party this is where I can see you can pack in

That suitcase any type of Caribbean theme perhaps you have some fun floral shirts that you want to pack along and bring with you you’ll also perhaps see a sunshine party which will Encompass some of the Decades of the 60s 70s and 80s so think all hippie inspired outfits that

You can pack now the snow party is one that I miss on my recent Cruise because it was during the late afternoon and simply I didn’t I didn’t catch it I missed it unfortunately but that’s one where they have a snow Cannon cooling you off while you’re in the Caribbean

Really kind of cool it’s the only other party that happens midday midi early evening besides the sail away party so look out for that perhaps you have any type of Garb or dress up for snow maybe you could bring your UGG boots or some of those uh big moon boots that would be

Kind of fun for a fun pitcher the moon boots might take up a lot of room in your suitcase though but I do have a hack for you for that here I actually loved my suitcase that I brought with me on board on my most recent MSC Cruise

You can see here it was checked in so easily here with my hard shell suitcase here with level eight and with this bright yellow color it stood out I also have the other in the black so I really enjoyed these suitcases I enjoy a hard shell suitcase for these big bags and

The rollability of it was really nice inside I always am such a big advocate for packing cubes and this is where level Eight’s packing Cube Foods shine with these little velcro pieces that you can take on and take off to indicate what’s in each bag I find that amazing I

Would go ahead and get two sets of those packing cubes as well especially if you want to designate what’s for those themed parties and what’s you know Dirty Laundry stuffing it back in those bags as well but within this suitcase I highly recommend you can go check out

For they give you those headphones and the different colors indicate the different uh music and channel stations that the DJs are playing so that’s one of my absolute favorites such a good time and then we have the white party which is by far the biggest party on

Board everyone I really mean it so many people get involved in the white party from head to toe to the heels to the belts people love to get involved in the White Knight white party it’s dressed in your best with all of the white outfits so remember the pack your white clothes

That’s one that people really love to get involved in and the last theme is Italian theme but this one people don’t really get involved too much in with what they’re wearing you’ll see this theming throughout the main dining room with some of the decor in the dining

Rooms but I haven’t seen yet too many people wear Italian flags or things of that sort but more power to you if that’s something that would really encourage you to to check out I send me a picture if you do I want to see what
