A video I made almost over a year. It shows my interpretation of the history, the food, the arts and the culture of Okinawa. Inspired by my family and love of this wonderful place. Music by Himekami.

  1. I loved it…reminds me of all the great things in Okinawa….homesick for it…loved your video.

  2. I'm Okinawan and in three weeks going to Kenya to do the Safari. The music somehow also can resemble Afrikan music. If you didn't understand the words, definitely. Interesting! The video is excellent. Enjoyed it tremendously and brought back many memories from the 50's , 60's, etc. My mother was only 12 during the war so the cave scene was very touching as she hid in one of them. Thanks for this special video!

  3. It may resemble Afrikan music, but this is pure Japanese music, made by Himekami. This is a remixed version of the song 神々の詩.

  4. Hi i'm kikuyu (kenyan tribe) and i plan to visit some part of japan someday and immerse myself in your country's great beauty

Ps: is it me or does the name 'Kikuyu' alittle sound Japanese?

  5. Hi' Ryudai1
apart from Himekami are there other artists or groups who have similar music to this?

  6. To be honest I really don't know. I'm sure while I was searching for the right music I came across some other, similar types of music. The main reason I wanted this song specifically was because it was played at our Okinawan Festival we have in Hawaii every year and I found it really moving and powerful. It may not exactly be similar, but I do also enjoy the music made by Eri Sugai for the same reason, that the music is very powerful.
