“Misato’s Journey LOG” begins. Broadcast: “Thank you for using the Kintetsu Limited Express.” Hello everyone. This is Misato. The start of this Seishun 18 Kippu journey also begins at Kyoto Station. Please subscribe to the channel. Please enter the date of the third day at the ticket gate. “Excuse me, please.” “Thank you.” The third date has entered, but as you can see in the previous video, my Seishun 18 Kippu is covered in scars. Learning from this lesson, I keep it in a clear case so that it doesn’t fall out of my hands. This time, we will head to Gero Onsen.

The first train to take is the special rapid train bound for Maibara departing from Kyoto at 7:03. This train is the same one used for the trip to Awara Onsen. Originally, the plan for this day was to take the Kintetsu Limited Express Hinotori to Nagoya and head to Gero Onsen,

But the Hinotori train, which departed from Osaka Namba at 6 o’clock, was only operated on weekends and holidays. Since today is a weekday, I changed my plan to go from Kyoto via the Tokaido Line. So, I’m going to take the special rapid train to Maibara.

There seemed to be a lot of people off to work, so the number of passengers seemed to be fewer than on my last trip. Instead, there seemed to be a lot of customers who looked like they were going on a trip, especially those using the Seishun 18 Kippu.

There were many people who thought so. This became clear at Maibara Station. This became clear at Maibara Station. When I transferred from the 12-car rapid train to the 4-car local train bound for Ogaki, the train was packed to capacity. I have used the Seishun 18 Kippu many times, but

This was my first time riding between Maibara and Ogaki during peak season , and I was quite surprised. I managed to secure a seat facing each other at the end of the car. There were so many passengers that the windows started to fog up. At 8:37, we arrived at Ogaki and transferred.

Go up and down the overpass and catch the new rapid train bound for Toyohashi at 8:40. This scene of transferring at Ogaki Station is unique to the 18 Kippu season. This melody makes me feel like I’ve come to the JR Tokai area. Because there are more trains connected, congestion has decreased somewhat.

Arrive at Gifu Station at 8:53, 13 minutes from Ogaki. The next train to take is the 9:08am bound for Tajimi via Mino-Ota. It is a two-car train of Kiha 75. Today, the trains from Kyoto were always crowded, but I felt a little relieved when I saw two empty diesel cars.

From here, take the Takayama Main Line and go 88.5km to reach today’s destination, Gero Station. When the time came, the train departed for Tajimi. The Takayama Main Line passes between the up and down tracks of the Tokaido Main Line. It’s a Kiha 75, the same vehicle used in Rapid Mie, so

The acceleration is good. The first stop is Nagamori Station. This station is in Gifu city. Naka Station, which enters Kakamigahara City , is parallel to the Meitetsu Kakamigahara Line, and Shin-Naka Station is right next to it. Sohara Station is close to the Air Self-Defense Force’s Gifu Base.

This station has three tracks and is a station where limited express evacuation is possible. Kagami-gahara Station is a slightly confusing station name , as the pronunciation and kanji are different from the city of Kakamigahara . When you see Meitetsu Shin-Unuma Station, which draws a large curve, you are at Unuma Station.

In the past, the limited express Kita Alps from Meitetsu has operated on the Takayama Main Line. After leaving Unouma, the road runs along the Kiso River for a short distance. Sakahogi Station is read as “Sakahogi” by writing “celebrate” in “Saka”. Next, transfer to Mino-Ota Station. This is the next train.

Departing for Takayama at 9:55. It is a 2-car train with Kiha 25 convertible cross seat specifications. While I was waiting for the train to depart, the limited express Hida No. 4 bound for Nagoya departed. The transfer time of 11 minutes flew by and we were on our way to Takayama.

Although it was a one-man train, there was a conductor on board, and there was a ticket gate inside the train. The train departs from Shimo-Aso Station, which is the third station from Mino-Ota. The turnout (point) you will soon pass is Y-shaped, and the sign in front of you

Has 85 series written under 100. This is a turnout that allows the HC85 series limited express Hida to pass through at a high speed of 100km/h . Shortly after leaving Kamiasou Station, you will see a beautiful view of the Hida River, which flows along the Takayama Main Line.

In particular, this area is a valley called Hisui Gorge, and there is also a pothole designated as a national natural monument. During this time, the train passed through Hisuikyo Signal Station, Shirakawaguchi Station, Washibara Signal Station, and stopped at Shimoyui Station. The train will stop here for 16 minutes from 10:34 to 10:50.

During this time, I mistook a local train bound for Mino-Ota. Since I had some free time, I decided to go outside the station as well. This is an unmanned station with an old wooden station building. The area around the station was a quiet village in the mountains like this.

There’s also one more train that I mistook for Limited Express Hida No. 6, but I heard that the Limited Express is running a little late. The driver kindly suggested that I just take a photo from above the overpass, so I took the photo from above.

Even if I take a picture above, I still take it in time. After taking pictures, I quickly returned to the train to avoid any further delays and left Shimoyuei Station. The Hida River valley also appears on the left in the direction of travel.

The train stops at Hida Kanayama Station, which enters Gero City. There was a fair amount of boarding and alighting at this station. After leaving Hida Kanayama, you will pass the Fukurai signal station. This is a signal station with the same name as the heroine of the morning drama “Boogie Woogie”.

You can still enjoy the beauty of the Hida River valley from here on out. Along the way, there is a lower dam filled with water from the Hida River, and this area seems to be a famous spot for railway photos. After leaving Yaishi Station, the next station is Gero Station.

Pass by the red arched Fudo Bridge on National Route 41 and pass the Shogano Signal Station just before Gero Station. It seems to have been a freight station in the past, and is a rare signal station with even a side track. So we arrived at Gero Station.

It took 2 hours and 10 minutes with one transfer from Gifu Station. Gero Station, where Kadomatsu preparations have been completed. In front of the station, there was a washbasin with hot spring water coming out of the mouth of the dragon. Now let’s go to the hot spring town.

An underground passage passes under the Takayama Main Line. Cross Gero Ohashi Bridge, which crosses the Hida River, and walk about 11 minutes from the station to Shirasagi-no-Yu. There is a free footbath in front of the entrance. Go inside and buy an admission ticket from the ticket vending machine. Adults are 430 yen.

As with public baths, you will need to bring your own towels, soap, etc., or purchase them at the reception. The hot water has a smooth feel and has no odor. I could smell the cypress in the cypress bath. There is only one indoor bathtub.

It felt like a hot spring that locals came to bathe in. The water was so hot that I couldn’t stay in the water for long, and most of the time I was just soaking my feet. After relaxing in the hot springs, it’s time for lunch.

I headed to Gero Keichanya to try the Okumino region’s local cuisine, “Keichan.’ ‘ There were several people outside waiting for takeout, and inside the store was a long, narrow store with only counter seats for 5 to 6 people. Fortunately, there was an empty seat for one person.

In a Genghis Khan pot, put sauce such as miso or soy sauce on top of the cabbage. Stir together and bake. The restaurant staff was doing everything by themselves, so it took a while, but the chicken dishes were delicious. By the way, the video was not allowed, so here are only the photos.

With my stomach full, I took a walk around Gero town. It is the birthplace of Japan’s three famous springs, and there are quite a lot of customers. After taking a bath, I wanted to eat some soft serve ice cream, but for some reason I couldn’t find it, so

As I was wandering around, the sun was hidden behind the mountain ridge. When the sun is blocked, it suddenly gets cold. So, while returning to the station, I bought some souvenirs and soaked in the hot water at Gero Onsen’s hot springs, before returning to Gero Station around 3pm.

The train bound for Mino-Ota has until 4:02 p.m., so take the 3:31 p.m. train bound for Hida-Furukawa in the opposite direction and get off at Hida-Hagiwara Station, but the train bound for Mino-Ota you were scheduled to take will come in the wrong direction, so you’ll have to hurry. change.

Since it’s a Seishun 18 Kippu, there are no additional fees, and the timing is just right. However, the Takayama Main Line is generally delayed, and if you are going up and down the overpass when changing to the opposite train at Hida-Hagiwara Station ,

You may not be able to make the transfer in time, so get off at Zenshoji Station, which is one station earlier. Did. Here, you can transfer with plenty of time even with this delay. Shortly after I got off the train, Limited Express Hida No. 83 passed me.

In the end, I might have been able to transfer at Hida-Hagiwara Station, but instead of crossing the dangerous bridge, I was able to relax and see a lot of things at Zenshoji Station, so this is also a good memory. Thus, the train bound for Mino-Ota, which I had originally planned to ride, arrived.

On the way back, I took a Kiha 25 series long seat car. Of course I was able to sit down from Zenshoji Station, but from Gero there were almost all the seats, so I was standing most of the time, so I gave up my seat and continued shooting.

After all, I thought that the flow of the Hida River was a good route. It is a 5 minute stop at Yaishi Station. Waiting to cross the line with Limited Express Hida No. 13. There were a lot of people boarding the train at Shirakawaguchi Station, so

I gave up on taking photos and sat down in an empty seat. It takes 1 hour and 32 minutes from Zenshoji Station to Mino-Ota Station. The next train leaves for Gifu at 17:36, arriving in Gifu in about 30 minutes. The Kiha 75 bound for Gifu was

A 3-car train, probably because it was during the busy evening hours. The next train will be to Nagoya, but I will take a local train bound for Okazaki. I will be using the Kintetsu train from Nagoya, but

Since I can make it in time without taking the special rapid train, I decided to take the local train, which seems to have plenty of space. Even local trains can operate at a maximum speed of 120km/h. It’s fast. On the way, I saw a large number of EF64s at Inazawa Station.

Some have handwritten license plates. Freight trains seem to be suspended during the year-end and New Year holidays, so electric locomotives are probably also closed, but could this be something else? Arrive in Nagoya at 18:45. This is where today’s trip as Seishun 18 Kippu ends. I will continue my return journey on Kintetsu, so

Please stay with me a little longer. Now, I can take the Kintetsu Limited Express Hitotori at 7:00 pm, but when I looked at the available seats, even the regular seats were almost completely occupied by the window, so I decided to take the Urban Liner for the next 7:30 pm train. . Just

Then, the Urban Liner next arrived on platform 4 of Kintetsu Nagoya Station . This is a rare formation among the urban liners that was created later and there are only two of them. Departs from Kintetsu Nagoya Station at 19:30. I will be returning with a deluxe seat.

On the train, I eat some Sasa Sushi that I bought at a souvenir shop in front of Gero Station . Hida beef sasa sushi. When you stuff your mouth with it, the flavor of Hida beef shigureni spreads throughout your mouth. It also had ginger, and it was very delicious.

Thank you for the meal. Normally, you can store drinks and other items under the window sills of express trains, but the Urban Liner NEXT is unique in that it cannot be stored diagonally and has a small storage space. Urban Liner Next passes Tsu too, takes the Nakagawa short circuit line, and

Leaves Kintetsu Nagoya in 1 hour and 47 minutes. Arrived at Yamato Yagi Station at 21:17. I was able to safely complete my round trip to Gero Onsen today. If you’re going on a long trip like this, it might be a good idea to take a limited express train

. Next time will be my 4th trip with Seishun 18 Kippu. looking forward to. Thank you very much for watching until the end this time. Thank you for subscribing to our channel. I would be happy if you could rate it as well.
