Hey guys my name is Jack to  and welcome to my YouTube channel the [Music] that so get a and good morning guys and welcome  back to another beautiful day here in Hong Kong should my back

Stard today we’re having a very fun day so  be right beside me as we go up a cable cart   and see the golden famous Buddha here in  Hong Kong we’re going to be treated with   very blue skies today I am currently out  the front of my hotel just here and it has

Its own little private beach I actually  talked about this hotel tell in my last   video my first impressions of Hong Kong  so if you haven’t seen that video go and   check it out up here so yeah come along  with me today it should be fun let’s

[Music] go okay but first things first we need   to get on our hotel uh little  shuttle bus for free so let’s [Applause] go okay so we just got off the shuttle bus there  and now time to get on the Metro so let’s go so

I just picked up a sandwich and a banana as  well a little bit of a snack today I’m not   sure if the cable cart will have a restaurant  on top so I thought I’d pick up something only

Just from here from 7-Eleven so this was about  $350 USD so very good price so today I’ll also   be using my optopus card so this card’s really  good you can use it for All Transport and you   can even use it like a credit card like at  7eleven to buy different things so really

Handy this looks like a  very old train look at this rust nice and clean though  inside outside a little bit Rusty okay so right now we’re just  changing connections so this is our   last connection before we  get uh to the cable [Music] con

I’m so tempted to run through this right  now and test my luck but not today not [Music] today we’re just on the escalator up  to the cable cart here now so let’s see we uh   actually bought our tickets on a app called cluke  not sponsored don’t worry it was $30 each so one

For me and one for Matt and $30 each return which  is really really good price and apparently we get   to go in what they call a VIP line so yeah let’s  see what that’s like so this is where the queue

Starts and as you can see there’s no one here  so I don’t think we’ll have any need for our   VIP lineup but let’s see okay so judging by the  lineup uh I don’t think we have to share which

Is good so it’ll just be me and Matt which is  really good so I can be an idiot on camera in   the uh cable cart okay so we just got in our  cable cut here the only ones pretty happy we

Did just go in before and then some a few people  just rushed in and we just walked back out and   waited for our next one I don’t know what happened  there but we’re about to take off now take off as

If we’re in an airplane all right let’s go oh  okay wo wo wo wo wo wo oh my God oh it’s going   so fast oh my god oh oh my gosh wow this is  going to be so cool wow check out this view

So we’re literally going over the water right now  if we fall we’re drowning it follows through here   all the way over here up up up up up all the  way to the top of the mountain it’s pretty hot

In here though I think it’s 25 minutes is it 25  minutes wow all oh that wasn’t too bad normally   when we go over these middle parts like this  it’s always a bit scary if you guys saw before

There was actually a monk lined up to go on this  cable cart so a good day at work for him let me   tell you don’t know if you can see this in the  distance but we’re actually right next to the

Airport so when you’re coming into land you could  probably see these cable cars really really cool   what a uh what an experience to see the planes  taking off as we’re on the cable cart [Music] Here so behind me here is obviously a really big  mountain believe it or not there’s actually a   walking path that winds all the way up to the  top of here I could not do that especially in

The Hong Kong heat yeah not today no thank  you I think the return cable card ticket is   very good I would say some people would get  it there and think oh we’ll just walk back   probably not going to happen but if you’re  fit enough definitely do it because exercise

Is very [Music] important as it there a pole in  the middle of the cable cart I’m not too sure   what this is for you know you could do a little  bit of little bit of this little bit of that you

Know so guys just thinking now this is  probably honestly one of the most best   cable carts I’ve been on since I’ve started  traveling in most countries they have cable   carts so I’ve taken you guys along with me  probably been on 10 cable carts in my life

Maybe more I can honestly say this is probably  the best experience I’ve had the views are just   spectacular and the fact that you can look here  at the airport and at the bay and at the forest

So [Music] cool so guys I thought that this  was the end here and I said to Matt where’s   the Buddha where is it on the hill we realize  that it’s still goes after this this is just a

Little intermediate we’re just finishing going  past all of the bay in the airport now as well bye okay so we just came through the halfway  point and now just over here you can see the

Golden Buddha wow it’s so much bigger than I  thought too and you can see the ocean as well so   just here behind me is actually the maau Hong Kong  bridge so that what connects China I know it’s m

But China to Hong Kong sensitive topic so I’m just  trying to explain uh yeah so this bridge is only   newly built I think it’s only about 4 5 years  old so before you had to go all the way around

Uh through mainland China or get on the ferry so  now they have a bridge which is absolutely amazing   and I believe it’s one of the longest overwater  bridges uh in the world so I probably should have

Mentioned as you can see the bridge doesn’t go all  the way it actually goes underneath in a tunnel so   the ships can get in and out which makes sense  but amazing piece of engineering right [Music]

There so yeah we’ve just arrived at the golden  buta and uh I’m just eating my lunch now because   there is a few food places but I think they’re a  bit expensive and then we’ll walk up there we’ll

Go and explore I think it’s about a 20-minute  walk or so really excited to go up there [Music] it’s just so funny seeing the uh boyfriend  taking girlfriend’s Instagram photos it’s   so serious here especially uh in Hong Kong the  dude was like this down in a squat holding the

Phone wait let me get my phone like this you  got to get the best angles especially when   um your girlfriend wants good Instagram pics  Sophia sometimes gets me to do that as [Music] well so we are now in the beautiful and  stunning uh Nong gong gong ping Village

I hope I’m saying that right and yeah so  we’re just walking up through [Music] here   just here at the uh start of the trail  and as you can see it’s really not that   busy there’s not that many people around  it is a weekday but I couldn’t really

Imagine it on a weekend being too  touristy so it’s actually not that bad absolutely amazing they’ve got the  big Buddha art here and little different   shops selling different foods and different  knickknacks really really lovely you’ve got   the Chinese lanterns up here as well and  then the beautiful view of the uh of the

The Buddha this is such a colorful little  straight I love it so such a nice little   walk up to the Buddha it’s not that far away I  even have a apple tree here that has apples on   it look at this maybe a little bit touristy  but hey nothing wrong with that is [Music]

There honestly this blue sky day just  keeps on blowing me away literally it’s   uh absolutely stunning here  and we’re about to climb up   there now so even better such a  great day to see the golden budha

[Music] here okay so we’re now at the bottom  to go all the way way up on the steps now this   doesn’t look very high but trust me it is it’s not  picking up well on camera but we’ve got a bit of a

Walk to go to the [Music] top so far this walk  is so beautiful right next to the trees lovely   pine trees not too hard yet but uh I think as  we’ll go up further be a little bit more [Music]

Difficult I’m 3/4 of the way now and  not really out of breath yet almost   there so actually it wasn’t that bad  but let me tell you it’s so peaceful   here no one else is talking except  for me so I’ll be quiet in a second

Here really really lovely walk got  dragonflies here too look at [Music] this So we’ve just got to the top of the Buddha my word is a beautiful this is probably  one of the most stunning spots I’ve ever been in   Hong Kong so far you got the baby behind me  there’s also some construction workers here

Working away I believe that they’re building  up a staircase so you can go inside as well   actually no I think we can go inside yeah let’s  go up and check it out but yeah this place is   really lovely people are doing their praying  and donations uh so in Hong Kong the Buddhism

Domination here is toess so they pray for wealth  Health Prosperity I always forget the fourth one   but there’s a fourth one as well okay someone  just coming up up to the B now and I didn’t

Think that you could actually go right next  to it so it’s is going to be really cool to see wow would you look at that standing  just under the golden B here amazing such   a special moment Wow Let’s go inside I’m so  shocked that uh this Buddha is completely

Hollow and it has a massive Bell in here  too you can see they ring the bell just   here I can hear montras playing in the  background really cool really peaceful place [Music] okay so we’re just in front of the  golden BHA now and we’ve made it up here to

The top and it’s really peaceful here like no  one’s yelling or talking uh except for me but   I’ll try and keep this quick yeah this foot  is stunning and you can see I’ll try and get

A closeup shot of it you can see in the center  it actually has the original uh symbol of peace   which unfortunately out of here hit turned  that symbol into something very terrible uh   so if you’re ever wondering why does that  Nazi symbol on Buddhist or Hindu statues

Is because yeah Hitler took it um there’s  a little bit of history there for [Music] you so just behind me here here can see that  they’re burning small incense sticks and really   big incense sticks and you can see this lady just  over here she’s kneeled down so when they’re doing

Their prayers they hold the inant sticks in  between their hands and then once they’re done   they go and place them in their little Shrine  here yeah it’s very interesting to [Music] see and this is the main Square here and this is  the main Monastery so yeah let’s go in and see

I’m not too sure if we can take photos but yeah  let’s go and check it [Music] out so right now   we’re in the main Monastery here and just being  really quiet to respect others but people in here

Praying and um praying to three Buddha statues  as well I’ve got some lovely artwork up here   too always these Towners and Buddhist temples  always so stunning it’s really really magical   so just behind me here is the room of 10,000  buddh which has all individual little bus on

The walls like covering up the entire wall now  unfortunately we can’t go in and film there’s   a r no camera sign and also a guard out the  front here so i’ would be telled off straight

Away but yeah this is really lovely there’s four  no five main buddas in the center I’ll see if I   can find a photo online and I’ll put it up here  yeah really really [Music] stunning wow so what

A cool moment that was all the monks walked into  start their PES start their rituals that was a   really cool moment pretty rare to capture that  so very happy I actually got to film inside the

Guard didn’t mind uh I just can’t go inside but  very very awesome 34 34 do you have octopus yes okay oh wow okay thank you yeah guys so like  I was saying before sorry about the light by   the way like I was saying before about  the optopus card super easy you can um

Yeah use it anywhere let me get out of this  light so yeah got our ice creams here now   going to just sit here enjoy the view of the  Buddha before we get back on the cable cart so

Guys You’ think we’re back in India that’s a cow  right there interesting oh she’s feeding it too well that’s so cool to see did not  expect to see that in Hong Kong okay   time to enjoy my ice cream okay guys  that ends today’s video I’ve got my

Ice cream here thank you guys so much  for watching please make sure you like   And subscribe and as always guys keep  it real I’ll see you in the next one Bye

  1. Great video Jack. I always enjoy HK. Fun place to go shopping. Strange place to have a coffee roasting company. We had the 16th floor of a high rise and just stuck the roaster pipe out the window. Always looked like the building was on fire. The poles in the cable cars for your girlfriend give you a quick dance.

  2. We recently discovered your channel, great to see places that we have visited years ago to remind just how beautiful they are, we have visited HK about 5/6 times, we just love the scenery, the beaches and the night life. Not been there for almost 8 years, and your videos are teasing us that we need to visit again soon!
Shek O has the most amazing beach, well worth the visit!

  3. First Hong Kong isn't a capital at all.
Hong Kong is just a city which part of China only.
    Capital is Beijing 😂😂😂

  4. I've been to Hong Kong many times and don't like its bad roads and expensive food. Due to historical reasons, Hong Kong was colonized by the British for 99 years. The agreement signed is a 99-year lease. It is now a highly autonomous special zone, managed by the people of Hong Kong themselves. The SAR government can just report to the central government. Most Hong Kong people are from Guangdong Province, so they speak Cantonese. Because the economy is highly developed and the population is too dense, it needs to be distinguished from mainland China, so border management was established.Hong Kong is a shopping city and not suitable for long-term living. In terms of quality of life, the price of living in Hong Kong is too high and is far inferior to that of Shanghai and mainland China.

  5. Great video Jack, yet confusing title 😆. As a Hongkonger born and raised in this city, I have no idea what 'Hong Kong's capital' refers to, and neither have I heard that HK is 'used to be called Victoria' – we have the famous Victoria Harbour and Victoria Peak though 😂.
Apart from the scenery, hope you also have chances to enjoy our food. Dim Sum (including har gao or shrimp dumpling, char siu bao or BBQ pork bun, cheung fun or rice roll…) is a must! Also the street food like fish balls, HK-style egg waffle, egg tart, HK-style milk tea… 😋 , to name but a few.

  6. I know the capital of China is Beijing! Just having a play on words with the title ❤️🇨🇳
