CYCLING & CULTURE TOUR to FUKUOKA & KITAKYUSHU

Part 2 of my recent trip to Fukuoka Prefecture on a 5-day cycling tour, all on town bikes, and with visits to local cultural spots also. I fully recommend heading to Kyushu and to Fukuoka Prefecture in particular, the food is nationally renowned – even by Japanese standards the local cuisine is incredible – and the cycling also is great πŸ˜‰

Thank you also to https://www.kyudensangyo.co.jp/ for organising this great tour & also to CrossRoad Fukuoka: https://www.crossroadfukuoka.jp/en

Welcome to crank Punk rides and yes we are in Japan once again the land of amazing autumn colors and all things mesmerizing and delightful and delicious such as sushi that looks really good and also cycling tours Hello yes we’re back in F Walker prefecture this video was shot at the same time as the previous video on Caden the link for that is in the description below [Applause] In November I went to Fukuoka prefecture on a cycling tour uh and a bit of a cultural tour as well and on the first day we went to this beautiful Shrine called AK jingu this Shrine located in kushu is dedicated to Emperor antoku who leapt into the sea and drowned way back in

1185 under the burden of Shame after his clan the Tyra were defeated by the minimum Moto clan in the Battle of Dana in the grounds Emperor anu’s grave and the graves of the defeated Tara Clan can be Found beautiful views from here through the gate out to cuu then we went to karata Fish Market which has been open since 1909 the best time to visit this huge Market is on weekends when the seafood stalls offer visitors a chance to try really tasty Sushi and other Delicacies

The menu here is a great really fresh and very reasonably priced after a delicious lunch of sushi and sashimi we then headed to pick up rental bikes the other people here are all from Taiwan clients of the Taiwan cyclus Federation enjoying a 5-day tour to fukoka prefect

J while we’re cycling along we’re up in kushu again it’s a bit chilly but it’s one of those wonderful uh autumo late autumnal days here in Japan Southern Japan hardly a cloud in the sky there’s the bridge over there that’s a famous shiman bridge here’s a group

Gathering for more photos so we just rented the bikes from just a little place over there little electric bikes very funky coming out and enjoying this wonderful weather today beautiful officially known as the Canon Bridge it connects the main island of honu to kushu opened in 1973 this is

Among the 50 largest suspension bridges in the world with a length of a rather whopping 1,068 M kushu lies to the east east of fukoka city and is kush’s northernmost City the name literally translates to North kushu the next day we headed to shakima a small island near Fukuoka City we

Rented bikes once again and headed out to explore the Area morning good Morning hello hello hello only 20 km from the heart of fukoka the island offers great snorkeling and scuba diving and also surfing in its Waters but the most popular activity by far is cycling on a warm sunny day you’ll see hundreds of cyclist out here over the

Day I used to live in kushu and I had completely forgotten about a race I did that included a loop of this very Island way back in 2008 I managed to win it too so I have some great memories of shimoi the island is connected to the

Kushu mainland by a long road that runs across a narrow spit of sand one of the great things about cycling in all of Japan is that because of the highly developed network of Roads the older Country Roads are usually very quiet and make for great cycling and on top of

That although fukoka is a very developed City the countryside around it is very traditional and really quiet now this is where things got heated our guide for the ride decided to challenge me up a hill and of course being myself despite being on a Town bike Laden with camera wearing a pair of

Jeans a shirt and a t-shirt I had to accept but it was all good fun we took a little break at katsma beach which is a popular picnic spot with great views across the bay of course it has its now obligatory Instagram feature but I think this one is actually quite

Nice and then it was back on the bikes to ride along the rugged and very beautiful northern coast of shik Noima and then it was time for lunch that very famous and traditional Japanese delicacy hot dogs and they were delicious by the way and that just about wrapped up our visit so head to fukoka fully recommend it rent some bikes eat some hot dogs get

Some sushi go see the Ken and kushu and discover this wonderful wonderful area got thank you for watching please subscribe and please like and see you next time
