Hiya! Sharing more highlights from my recent trip to Japan. This video is our splurge night at a Ryokan in Nara, enjoying a kaiseki dinner.
The concept of kaiseki dinner was completely new to me before this trip. I didn’t think that much attention could be paid to a meal. They fed us a lot and it was a memorable dinner. Never have I felt so underprepared and gauche at a dinner table. But we had an enjoyable time in our own awkward ways. The morning after, we went to visit the temple, where the deer roamed freely. Too soon, it was time to leave the peaceful town of Nara to the more bustling Nagoya. We visited the Toyota Museum on our only day there. Not shown in the video, we were quite late coming back from our day excursion and almost missed our luggage storage pick up at the Takashimaya store. On our long train ride to our Airbnb, we encountered two drunk fellas’ solicitation. What a memorable day.
Places we visited:
Hotel New Wakasa – Highly recommend staying here, and trying their toiletries and the kaiseki dinner
Nara Park / Todai-ji – where the deer are
OKest Fresh Mart
Kohyo JR Nara
Toyota Museum
