Morning everyone and welcome to Koto Japan we are in I think the central shopping district of Koto we are on our way to the Nishiki markets and mly this bit feels very much like Sydney CBD around that qbb area and we’ll just cross this road here and head over to the

Markets okay we’re off through this laneway here such a lovely day in Koto with the blue sky going to qu a bus from our hotel but we figured most of the streets here are very flat there’s so much to see and through all the little laneways and arcades so uh the figured would

Walk and it was well with the trip Okay so we’ve arrived at the famous Nishiki markets here in Koto let’s do a walk through see what we can find selling their WIS let’s see what they’re making over here oh they’re shocking oyers it is pretty crowded as you’d expect for a market vending

Machines fresh produce lots of seafood sweet shot Bakery in there fresh food oh look how what per of that food is samples well where spices fresh food got people controlling traffic it’s good with a lot of these uh markets I’ve been to so far in Japan there’s

Like a uh Road running through it that people are pretty considerate here so it’s okay little o octopi on sticks squid scallops Seafood for seafood what’s over Here reserved seafood and ches white ba little dining hall in here I think they’re uh models up front but certainly they’re cooking seafood in there another little dining hall it’s really interesting in there to go in there later on maybe but there’s a lot of food out then alcohol the sake e here

Hello all preserve produce more Reserve produce getting really packed now Seafood that side it’s bit like the fish market I think but a lot tidier a lot neater a lot cleaner less fishy I don’t know how it is they can sell seafood and not smell like fish it’s quite amazing really oh

Mai Mai Macha well there’s probably some Moi too Macha whole pile of Macho back that’s a big pile of Macho had to go back for that one Takaki so a lot of Takaki inaka didn’t we all right another little road we have to navigate people pushing their wagons

And carts more traffic control though at least that’s good okay more Wares more food a little bit less crowded on this side oh fresh seafood got scallops oysters look at those oysters they are huge huge oysters haven’t seen o is that b in a while fresh ones in there all fried

Crowd lots of uh packed produce very interesting drawing a crowd packaged food Shoe Shop oh this one’s definitely a wet Market here very wet that smells a little bit fishy but not too bad oh this one smells really good the future W look at those prawns this just how much to show you

Incredible the bread scope of produce fresh food Seafood meat cooked food preserved food absolutely incredible of these ones wow good all packag so well us good okay we’ll keep walking amongst the crowd sorry Sydney Fish Market I found a new standard this is pretty incredible here treats oh another Crossroad

Speaks for all the stuff chestnuts roast of chestnuts got a mix of tourists and locals probably mostly tourists I’d say oh that looks really good gosh another E3 here look at all this cooked food absolutely incredible the scallops octopus squid wow Right what over here cooking Crepes cook on the spot for you this one again huge oysters huge Emperor shrimp wow massive on the spot marbling through that mate I love that look at some of the quality of this mate here Eve Sushi Wow all that marbling through all that meat absolutely

Incredible I can see the end I think unless it branches off the last few bits of this end of the market buy um Crockery on this side are really sharp knives there some more wees on this side then some more preserved food on this side bit green grer on this side too all

Wrapped in plastic of course another Crossroad we have to be careful of I went across and you’ve got little shops too just on these laneways off the be and track okay so this bit is less crowded much of the same desserts the sake bar Shoe Shop okay this bit’s covered see up

Here then wow kind of goes over there that’s kind of more conventional type shops up that way same with this way as well M trollies then through the gate the tourists Wendy’s okay probably less traditional food now wow check out these lanterns aren they beautiful walk through the lanterns see what’s

Here okay so I think we’ve possibly entered a little Temple now so that pretty much ends the tour of the market and uh I will head back and find something to eat okay so we’ decided to come in from the chaos of the market and just have

Food at one of the restaurants one of the side streets and this is what I B got a few more sets as well for the family they all look really really delicious just going to mix It yum yum all right let’s tuck in everyone check out these little spice pots they are so cute tiny little SP okay so we ate here at one of the side alleys just off the main Market strip uh cash only but delicious food very good value now to get a shrimp

Skewer I’m not sure if I caught this store in my initial walk around but this is a green tea uh store that sells the leaves and it smells absolutely incredible Wow all varieties here okay this high quality H I’ll be honest it’s uh not as sweet as I thought it would be but still pretty good good texture that’s good and you have to stay still when you’re eating because there times everywhere we say no eating while walking

So at the Eastern end of Shori which is the main shopping district here in Kyoto is the gon old quarter on the Eastern side of the K River best seen during twilight sunset hours let’s go check it out so across the Kama river is the gon

District so we’re on the hunt for really old buildings and tight laneways with old buildings it’s uh pretty much in the star that we’re looking at older quarter older part of town with older architecture and another nice laying way I’m not really sure where I’m going I’m

Walk around and explore an area don’t often get that with holidays it’s always a packed itinerary it’s looking very nice in the Setting Sun what I love about Japan is that the people take pride in the property everything is maintained so well okay I’m risking my health walking
