Big Bischofia Javanica in Shuri
Shuri, Naha City, Okinawa
In Naha City, near Shuri-jo Castle, there are national monuments of Japan: Oo Akagi of Shuri. A conditon of the path to this spot is not good. Make sure you wear suitable shoes for walking. Six Akagi trees are standing at the road side of a branch road of Kinjo-Cho Stone Pavement. Those trees survibed through Battle of Okinawa and aged around 200 to 300 years. At the part near the root of the biggest tree, there is a small shrine in the hollow. It’s said that every 15th of June in Lunar Calender, God visits this sacred place and make one’s wish come true… Please visit and feel spiritual atmosphere.
金城町の大アカギ
沖縄県那覇市首里
天然記念物『首里金城の大アカギ』があるのは、那覇市の首里城近く。道中は道が悪いため足元にはお気をつけて。歩きやすい靴を選んでくださいね。日本の道100選にも選ばれている『首里金城町石畳道』の脇道には6本のアカギがたたずんでいます。沖縄戦を生きのびたこれらの木は樹齢200年から300年を数えます。一番大きな木の根元近くの洞には小さな祠があります。言い伝えによると旧暦6月15日に神様が訪れ願いを叶えてくれると言われているそう。ぜひ訪れてスピリチュアルなこの雰囲気を感じてください。
