“Japan? Really? Are you kidding me?” Those are the words you’ll be saying to yourself when you join Traveling on a Dime for the final leg of my summer adventures.
The Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture is so radically different from the rest of mainland Japan you’d be forgiven for thinking that you’d somehow worm-holed your way to Hawaii or Thailand. White sand beaches and stunningly clear blue water to match any tropical resort destination await. Sand ski hills and a volcanic reef as vibrant as any coral reef complete the picture. So get ready, because extraordinary is about to get redefined!
