Tokyo Street Food 2023 | Tsukiji Outer Market | Sugamo Jizo-dori Shopping Street | Travel Tips

We would like to share some of our street food experiences in Tokyo. We also provided some dos and don’ts when traveling in Japan.

On the right [Applause] Goodbye goodby We had the opportunity to witness up close the tuna auction at the tsukiji inner Market just a few months before it was shut down and moved to toyosu Market in 2018 but we have never explored the tsukiji outter Market until 2023 we just want to point something out before

Sharing our food trip after that experience we heard later on that many locals actually feel that a lot of the tourists who watch the auction get in the way while they’re doing their thing at the market we understood what they meant because we saw tourists in our group keep going beyond the designated

Area just to have a better view despite repeated requests from the guide this is probably the reason why they changed the setup now at the toyosu market we observed a similar concern when we went went to the tukiji outer Market the roads were blocked by so many people who

Were not just walking on the streets but actually stood and stayed in the middle these roads are used by locals to transport Goods to and from the market but their vehicles can hardly move along because of all those people as tourists we are welcomed in their country we may have been

Contributing a lot to their economy but we hope we don’t feel entitled and do as we please these hardworking people have their own jobs to do and bills to pay let us not disrupt their source of income or their daily life not just in Japan but anywhere we go we should

Always be respectful and considerate of the locals that said a lot of people flocked the market to try different kinds of Street Food and Seafood we managed to try a few good ones ourselves first is tamago or sweet egg omelet the plain one was good we also bought one with shrimp

It was okay but we still preferred the plain version by the way eating while walking is generally frowned upon in Japan it is recommended to find an unobstructive spot to eat or drink before moving along next is the hair tale fish burger from Masa the fish fillet was perfectly fried it was sweet

Soft and Flaky inside and the batter was thin and crunchy The Taste and texture of the bread and all the other components worked well together interestingly while we were eating in front of the store another tourist walked by and asked if it’s good our mouth was full so we just gave him a

Thumbs up and he ordered right away he said he was just randomly walking to look for uncrowded hidden gems and glad to have spotted our satisfied faces you can find Masa in a small alley in the market just search Google Maps for the location next we wanted to try some

Grilled stuff our old self would not have spent 1,000 yen for something that couldn’t even carb our hunger but we are now at a point where we are willing to accommodate some stuff even once good thing we did not get disappointed with this but but to be honest nothing

Spectacular we enjoyed the next one more the tentacles were rightly seasoned and soft enough that even a person with a chewing problem like me was able to eat it for our last stop we had Chi rashidan or sushimi on top of sushi rice the seafood was fresh slices were thick and

The warm rice and hot soup were great for that cold winter day there were other small but pricey things we wanted to try at the tsukiji outer Market but we looked away because we’re minding our expenses already it had been a very expensive twoe vacation but to sum it up

The place is very touristy but having some food trip there is quite a nice experience when in Tokyo we just hope the sellers being flocked by the tourists would come up with a better system to manage their customers and the tourists would be more Mindful and avoid

Getting in the way of the locals by the way for smokers don’t just smoke anywhere there is a designated smoking area it is located near the main road please note that we do not promote smoking the information is provided only for whoever needs it now if you want to

Try more Street Foods minus that much crowd we recommend visiting the Sugo juu Dori shopping street it is just a short walk from the Sugo station of the yamot line we recommend that you go during the day it was already Sundown when we arrived so most food shops were closed

Already thankfully we still managed to get the two remaining fish cakes and they were the ones we wanted this fish cake is an absolute must try we also had two Croquettes from this shop beef and crab cream flavors they were both good and the price ranges from 120 to 290 Yen

Per piece there are other stuff we would have wanted to try had we arrived earlier visitors also go here to visit the koganji temple it is known for the healing Buddha Togan Nuki jizo which promises healing powers for all who come overall Sugo is a good area to visit for

More local and less touristy experience in Tokyo till the next one thanks for watching
