Hi, everyone! I’m now in front of Higashi Honganji temple near Kyoto station. That is Kyoto Tower. Today we will stay in a compact, lockable private room called “Pocket hotel” in Kyoto. Generally, Japanese capsule hotels do not have locks on the doors (because of the law).

The hotel is very conveniently located, a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station and a 1-minute walk from Gojo Station. We have arrived. THE POCKET HOTEL Check in at this machine. The lounge has a Japanese-Western atmosphere with sofas and desks. I would like to see my room right now.

All but the first floor appear to be guest rooms. My room is 805. Open Sesame. Compact but cute room! First, turn on the air conditioner. There are three hangers on the wall. There is also a large mirror. Then there is a tablet. It looks like you can see maps and weather forecasts.

Also, alarms can be set. HOTEL Guide WiFi is available. Flashlight. Garbage disposal is self-service. Slippers are also available. There is a bag on the door. Small towels and large towels. Oh, I forgot to lock the door! Now let’s look at the back space where the desk and futon are located.

This desk is called a chabudai. This is a desk for eating that was popular in Japan in the past. And the cushion (Zabuton). This desk can be folded. Spinning around and around. When sleeping, you can stand it up like this to save space. What are these caps and holes?

I really don’t get it. Pillow is fluffy type. Quilts and mattresses. We have to put down our own mattress, but it’s clean. There’s another hole under the mattress! It appears to be a hole for lifting the floorboard. Nothing in particular. Next to the mattress is a small shelf that lights up.

Light switche and an outlet and type A. When you open the curtains, you can see the main street. This is what it looks like when the futon is laid out. As a complimentary service from the hotel, we received Donbei Meat Dashi Udon noodles. Let’s have it for breakfast tomorrow.

I will do a little PC work. Sitting on the floor to work on a PC hurts my back. Then I am going to take a shower now. Shower rooms are located on the first floor. The door opens when the card key is held up. Shower rooms are private rooms with locks.

Let’s put down the bath mat. Lock the door and take a shower. Whew, I feel refreshed. Let’s go back to our rooms. I returned to my room. Chocolate Banana Crepe I bought it at a convenience store. I would like to enjoy the evening sweets.

It is delicious and full of chocolate. It also came with banana. Japanese convenience store sweets are inexpensive and delicious, and I encourage you to try them.　 Thank you for sweet snack. The rooms are very narrow, but the high ceilings are different from other capsule hotels. It’s time to sleep. Good night. Good morning.
