Went up Goryōkaku Tower in central Hakodate. It give a wonderful view of the two seas that sandwich the city and a long view to Mt Hakodate.

  3. ジョン、旭川動物園は幾つかの「日本初」を創ったはず。取材に良い場所だと思うよ。

  4. The park shaped like a star looks just like Fort McHenry in Baltimore – very beautiful, indeed.

  5. Aww I am sad that I missed it! But the views are stunning! I really enjoy these live streams ^^ Rest well ^__^ Get refreshed~~ You are almost done ^^ Stay safe~ (even though you don't really have to worry about that lol)

history meets toy soldiers movie XD

  6. So, the guys in the box shooting at the weeds. Here's the conversation I imagine is happening:

    Soldiers:
"We must start a fire! We must escape from our tiny glass prison!"
"Shooting at the weeds will spark a wild fire, and melt the glass and get us out"
"But wait! I'm so close to making this glue bomb! Just a bit longer and it will be ready!"
"WE MUST GET OUT AT ALL COSTS!!"

From over the hill the leader appears:
"Men, put down your weapons. We do not need fires. We do not need glue bombs. Battles are won first in the mind, followed by the heart, then the soul. In a time of war, we must find peace within ourselves. I realize you seek solace of familiarity found in the outside world, but we must remain here. We are prophets of education, of knowledge and understanding. Our destiny will be to impart knowledge in others that seek peace; to inform all who enter here of our place in history, and their place in the future."

Ok… maybe I've had too much coffee today? 😉

  7. Interesting History on The Goryokaku.  The entire area was made into Park…Important Landmark of Japan.  It was designed well, after the European style of Architecture for the ground.  Meiji era was the time when Japan opened to the West.

  8. It was not strategically a good location for Government building.  Well, it is worth looking into for those interested.

  9. John you certainly are comical & entertaining for the viewers.  The Models in the Glass.  Soya?  Wait & see.

  10. The Goryōkaku has pretty interesting history. I went to Hakodate specifically to see it. I was a bit too early for the sakura. So I went to Hirosaki which was amazing 🙂

  11. very nice place to visit. was there december 3 years ago. below mount hakodate is otaru canel. theres a kitty cat cafe in otaru as well, which after u have a drink there, u can take away the cup with the kitty cat picture on it. one of a kind collector's item.😄

  12. hmm i think what it made it accurate on shape is a person view it from that tower and talk to a wireless radio to another engineer on the ground from what it looks like on the top if there's any error on its shape 😀

  13. I wish I had more time when I visited Hakodate, than the one night I stayed there!

  14. The park is a star because the fort was a star. It provided more gun placements for protection than square forts. Bob Chattanooga TN

  15. The reenactment of the scenes from the models! Having you as a teacher in school must have been so much fun. You make learning so much fun 😍 Charge! We're gonna take this glass and smash it and get out of this box once and for all. I can't believe they put us in a glass box! Charge!!! End scene. 😂 Night at the Museum: When Japan Rises Up! ❤
