I took Shin Nihonkai Ferry from Maizuru (Kyoto) to Otaru (Hokkaido). It was a comfortable journey.

Correction: Akashia went into service in 2004 (not in 2002)

Deluxe Cabin is designed for two passengers. The price shown in the video is for one adult (off season A period). To book this cabin alone in busy season, the extra fee will be required.

Access to Maizuru Ferry Terminal
I took a bus from OCAT in Osaka. Booking is only available in Japanese. You still can buy a ticket without booking, but it’s better to go to the ticket office earlier in the day or while you are in Osaka to make sure if it’s not booked out.

Thanks for watching

  1. Love your videos! Why must the curtains be closed at night? It is for safety but why? Safety from what?

  2. I'm on some sort of binge watching, both for the awesome traveling but the translation, honestly crying over you petting a white bear on a bottle 😂the description is killing me. Hahah.
    Love this so much!
I'm sad that we don't have much interesting transportation here in the NL, can't wait for a trip to Japan! 😍

  3. And that shipyard Maizuru built the Fubuki class destroyers that were smaller and faster but pretty much legends as destroyers go

  4. There aren't many people which is very nice. Japanese ferries don't rely on passengers to make money. They profit off trucks and logistics. 🙂
