Shinto is Japanese essence. The Dogma is making everything clean and genuine. This thought demand the environment should be clean, and work should be genuine. Japanese Shinto has been continuing from 3000 years ago.
I went to this shrine in January of this year. I had never been there in the past I'm Japanese though. It was very beautiful place. I could feel a good old Japanese atmosphere that I can't feel in my ordinary life. If you have an opportunity to go there, you should go shopping to the stands nearby the shrine. You can enjoy fish cakes, rice cakes, charms, and other stuffs which you hard to get in other place. I recommend you to try octopus fish cake. It was pretty good.
★Ise-Jingu is the most sacred place for Shinto-religion. So, ★Ise-Jingu is the similar place as Kaaba in Mecca for the Muslim. ★O-ise-mairi(going to Ise-Jingu) is the similar action as pilgrimage to Mecca for the Muslim. ★During Edo jedai(=era), If someone wanted to do O-ise-mairi(going to Ise-Jingu), nobody(including even Shogun) could stop it.
