150MW BURGOS WIND FARM
EDC Wind Power Corporation

A timelapse documentation prepared for Energy Development Corporation (EDC). However, this presentation represents the author’s own edit. It is not the approved version of EDC.

Featuring 50 units of Vestas V90 3MW wind turbines. Commissioned last November 5, 2014. The estimated cost for the construction of the wind farm was US$450 million.

Coverage commenced from the arrival of turbine components last October 2013, with the blades, nacelles and tower segments arriving at Omnico Port, Ilocos Norte. These parts were later transferred to Burgos through barging. Significant stages of the construction were covered: from Foundation Preparation up to Tower Erection.

Hundreds of thousand still shots taken using CANON 5D Mark3 with various Canon lenses. It also utilized a proprietary Long-Term Timelapse set with a camera in a metal enclosure shooting continuously at location.

  2. Just the sound of these wind turbines can give you cancer according to Donald Turmp πŸ˜‚

  3. The first windmill was inaugurated in Bangui by BBM when he was a governor. He was also responsible too to making this project possible that would supply 40% demand for electricity in Ilocos Norte. Not just windmills but the solar power farm that would harness the heat of the sun. Let's be thankful for we have a man that would help us out of the hardship brought on by the prices of crude oil.

  4. First nuclear energy in south east asia late 19s is in the philippines sadly didnt start and now first wind farm in phli . β™₯️

  5. OF COURSE , IT WAS BBM's PROJECT !

I am talking about the famous Bangui Windmills in Ilocos Norte which anti Marcos group falsely and maliciously claimed was not BBM’s project.

In their so called "fact check" posts, they claimed this without bothering to check the origin and eventual implementation of the project that the same was done by a private company – NorthWind Power Corporation. Of course, Northwind was the project developer but they should have dug deeper to inform their readers that the project was essentially a kind of public-private partnership set up in the 1990s during Bongbong Marcos’ second term as governor of the province.

It was he who broachedthe idea for the local electric cooperative, INEC, to issue a β€œ take off” document (a kind of power purchase agreement) to ensure the usage of the plant’s output. It was also BBM who got the DENR and the other government agencies to assist in securing the leases on the project site involving 28 huge windmills, fast track permitting, securing the areas and otherwise ensuring that the project gets implemented in the soonest possible time. It was also BBM who assured the project developers and the Danish government who provided the grants and low-interest loans as well as the supplier, VESTAS, that everything will be properly and responsibly handled to set up Southeast Asia’s first wind farm.
In short, he was not only present at the project’s establishment. He was, for all intents and purposes, the proponent.
Renewables and energy development have always been one of BBM’s advocacies. The initiative to precisely harness the province’s renewable resources was originally stated and affirmed in the Provincial Development Plan which was completed with assistance from various national and international agencies during BBM’s first term as governor from mid 1982-February 1986.

  7. Good job Philippines! Now you need to repeat this 100 times and build storage to go with it. Add some 3rd generation geothermal to go with it. (AGS from Canadian company Eavor)

  10. Look up the amount of birds that are killed each year by those wind farms. Here We Go Again, taking care of ourselves while killing nature.

  11. Greetings, Mr! I'm a student and I am finding a video to insert to my project in order to showcase the importance of renewable energy sources. Can I use this po? I'll give proper credits, thank you!
