This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

Okay I'm wild guessing the puzzle right now
From AUH to LHR
On ETIHAD
AIRWAYS
In……(i would need a letter or 2 from this word 😅)
By the way great review was planning to stay for 2 nights there, your idea of lunch or dinner here was not bad i would definitely consider it, thank you so much.🩴❣
Did you ever ask any of the managers for an explanation? Whether it was due to perhaps COVID and low inventory, Maybe lazy housekeepers never reported it, whatever it maybe, I would have asked the GM for an explanation just to understand, How…that's even possible!
🤦🏼♀️
Oberoi is slated to manage UK's iconic Stoke Park on behest of its new owner Reliance Industries (owned by Asia's richest man Mukesh Ambani) and is said to be roped for managing Reliance Industries other two upcoming hotels. Reliance Industries have become part-owner in Oberoi's holding Company EIH Ltd and also appointed two representatives to EIH Ltd's board which includes Mrs Nita Ambani.
All bets are off in India mate. You may want to stick to hotels in Singapore and HK.
Shocking 😮
I imagine a prior guest to your your room had ordered the Chef's Special Ratatouille which was a bit off and caused her to brown the bed.
That said, you are a GEM kevin! A literal DIAMOND mined from a Botswana kimberlite pipe! Buy yourself a currytini!
I can tell you whenever I travel I am always check my bed first ! I stay in this hotel and I had everything perfect including my bed ! When I stay in Australia bed was stain including Dona insert was stain !
In one hotel when I stay in other five star hotel when check bed I find bed bugs
My service of the room was only 5 min ? No vacuum no bathroom cleaning etc ? After complaining I have spoken with room att and she told me they offering light service only ? To save money ? As you see the management is the one what cutting corners but always blaming on staff and offering recovery ! My advice is always check the bed no matter we’re you travelling 😊
great video
Peacocks sound like a soprano being murdered with a saw 😂
As a former hotel maid, that bed was absolutely unacceptable. That's entirely on the shoulders of the housekeeping manager. That person had one job…
I am hooked to this channel
Hi TFTT…..
Just came here to check the bed's disastrous experience because I was informed by a person who dedicated his life for the brand.
Something as big as this cannot go unnoticed and couldn't imagine where it all went wrong.
By the way please explore Six Senses Fort, Barwara for a royalty experience and wellness! You will definitely love the workshops too.
Thank you for this video. We are going to this hotel in feb 24, same type of rooms, I really hope that the bedding will be changed. I will check it out. 🙏
Your camera work and the the background score lends to a feeling of enchantment and an almost personal experience for the viewer. Superb!
Thats a horrible bed.🤮would not even eat at their restaurant
Very fair review.
Your channel is indeed much needed. Every other reviewer does promotional content too so this would never happen to them, you capture the actual experience of an avg guest.
When you are paying 500-1000 USD a night everything should be in the highest possible standard, even though I am Indian, i truly agree with the review that bed was disgusting.
I remember Judge Judy, who is know on TV for being a straight talker and saying it like it is, once mentioned that she visited India, but she said "never again!". 😂 😂
It was clear by the way she put her head down after she said it, like it was a thought she wanted to get out of her head.
I think if you have to go thru old Delhi or to the Ganges…….it is definitely not for everyone!
I remember one popular YT travel vlogger from the UK, filmed an older gentleman in old Delhi, pushing a hand cart on the same path as himself, and in it was a dead body covered with a sheet. India has several billionaires and a ton of millionaires. Some of the richest class in the US are Indians. Most live in Silicone Valley. I don't understand the apathy. It was heartbreaking to see the homeless children at the railway stations. Thank God for the Don Bosco Charity and others that have helped these poor kids.
India has so much potential with its incredible diversity! And the food….is out of this world heavenly. I am forever grateful to the Middle Eastern airline for first introducing me to Biryani – Food of the Gods, for sure!
Wow!!! Very shocking!!! How did that happen? They are falling behind, if they can't afford to replace a mattress topper. I mean, they can get those made right there in India. They can even have the the goose feathers recycled. Unlike the US where everything has to be imported/shipped in from China or India. And I have to apologize, I know you have very high standards and I thought you were just going to be picky. That was a shocker!
I often wondered about these high-end resorts…when it comes to bedding. It is kind of personal to me. Most times I have often thought that i rather be sleeping in my own bed than to be sharing a bed where so many people have slept on. Or the sheets, even if they are washed clean. I mean, to me it is the equivalent of having Goodwill or Salvation Army bedding on your bed to sleep on at home.
I guess when one get older one then tends to worry about germs. And sharing a pillow with someone else that has drooled on it has turned me off to staying in hotels. I always assumed that in high end hotels, that they would replace all the bedding with complete new bedding after a few guests.
However the complete change of scenery would be a welcome change. And I would die to eat the food after your great reviews of the hotel.
That’s really sad.
This is brilliant , finally I have a medium that I can rely on that can take on and expose various over- hyped properties owned by several of the branded hotel groups across India that are both mismanaged and therefore are , simply put , just a sham
Definately a overrated hotel..
A new fear unlocked within me: from now on I'll check every mattress in a hotel😅. I can already feel, I'll find many such cases unfortunately.
But this was completely unacceptable coming from a 5-star ultra luxury hotel, and if it were me, I'd be super disappointed too! Especially when you're paying upwards of €500 per night, this is not what you expect.
I understand that there might be some small stains or browning of the mattress over a period of time, but what you saw was out of the world. I hope by now they have changed all of them 😅
The rest of the property looks beautiful though. 😊
Stunning property. Fabulous review.
Unless the management already knows about the conditions of those mattresses, which is highly likely, I'm wondering how harsh would they punish the housekeeping managers & staff now.
While the guests would say all those nice things about Oberoi Hotels. the management-employee relationships have a cruel side to it. The ruthless management is known for their mistreatment to their underpaid employees. This is no different than slavery ! The Oberoi Management School, that you talked about, in fact, prepares and turns simple graduates into ruthless managers of tomorrow.
I looked at your video, given your fair treatment of places to stay but simply have NO interest whatsoever in Oberois.
Sorry, had to just share my utterly bad experiences working at this chain once.
Have a great day.
omg, this is horrendous, unbelievable that this could happen in a big hotel and as reputable as the Oberoi. Goes to show you that the staff probably are not trained properly and simply don't care
Wonderfully detailed review with a very misleading title! Considering you absolutely LOVED almost every other aspect of the resort, with the sad exception of the horrific bedding, dont you think a more balanced and accurate title would have been something along the lines of "almost perfect but flawed"? "Shameful and sickening" is rather strong and, in fact, inaccurate as it sends the immediate message that THAT was your overall opinion…which it clearly was not. It gives one a totally negative impression; and it is certainly possible that a lot of people wont bother watching the review after reading the title. So please do change it!
Thanks for sharing your horrible experience. It is absolutely disgusting! I don't know, how you slept in the bed/room? I would have nightmares !
Now I know, what to look for!
UPDATE 22 Nov 2023:
As always, when I am contacted by a resort or airline following a less and favorable review, I add a pinned comment about the communication in an effort to be transparent with all of you. I received a call today (which was scheduled a few days prior) from the General Manager of the Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur, Mr. Mahajan. We had a brief chat about the ripple effect of the discovery and the net positive learning experience it has been for some members of his team. In no uncertain terms, Mr. Mahajan has told me that within 48 hours of my original departure, every bed on property was checked and he assures me this is no longer an issue in any way at the hotel. He also extended an invitation to me to visit the Udaivilas again in the future.
If I am honest, regardless of this phone call, I knew this is what happened and why I specifically tried to highlight how beautiful of a proprerty this is, that just happend to have one major slip up while I was there. I'd personally be more than happy to return in the future, with these assurances.
Oberoi has not compensated me for posting or guided the language of this comment.
Oh god!
Please compare it to the crappy arrangements and facilities and room sizes available in expensive hotels in the western capitals and cities. You will need to pause before you nitpick so much.
4th video… really enjoying India through you.
Hurt! The Leela let us down. It was shocking to learn about and observe this. It was shocking!
Have always wanted to visit this property given its iconic stature – but don’t think I will do that now. They charge an arm and leg and if that is the quality of their bed, then absolutely don’t desire it anymore. Unacceptable! Sorry you had to endure this in India
The Oberoi remains a class apart from its competitors. During your stay in India, I would recommend visiting their property at Wildflower Hall near Shimla. And when down south, Evolve Back Coorg (originally Orange County) is a unique experience, no luxury hotel chain would be able to offer.
Wow! I would’ve been mortified too. That’s the 1st thing I check is the bed. It looks like that padding came off a trash truck. It is truly a beautiful place too! Thank you for sharing this. 😊
You keep it real, I like that. Never change. Also, the issue was definitely an upper management problem, house keeping usually follows orders.
