Tonight is BBQ night in Sapporo. We try our best to find the must have local eats and usually a crowd is a good sign. Daruma is well known for their style of bbq; lamb meat, with a bed of onions and flavored by a melting chunk of lamb tallow sitting on top of a cast iron dome grill. It was amazing how many customers they were able to fit into this tiny restaurant, we were literally elbows to elbows with our neighbors while balancing on tiny round plastic stools. Once you get passed the awkwardness of having your plate of meat encroached by someone else’s bowl of rice, the experience was one not to forget. There were probably four women working behind the counter running the ever so small but busy restaurant like a well-oiled machine. We were definitely impressed, they had their operations down to a science.
Japan is definitely well known for their quality of food and not quantity, it’s either that or we’re just too accustomed to American portions because we were still hungry after Daruma. This is a good thing! This allowed us to venture out for more food, while searching for our next stop, we came upon (also read about) this Yakitori joint in a subway terminal called Kushidori. This is a no frills kind of place, they were down to business with some of the most delicious yakitori selection we’ve ever had. Top that with ice cold beer, you’re going to bed with a happy stomach.

繼上次的帶廣豬肉丼之後，我們終於來到了這次日本旅行的最後一站：北海道最大的城市-札幌。這裡除了有名的味增拉麵之外，還有一個到此絕對不能錯過的美食之一，那就是成吉思汗烤肉。成吉思汗烤肉是一種特別的烤肉方法，一般都是用獨特的烤盤來烤羊肉。我們這次去的是達摩總店，店雖然小，可是非常有氣氛，羊肉的品質也非常優，絕對值得下次再訪。
如果吃完烤肉還意猶未盡的話，串鳥倒是一個平價居酒屋的好選擇。它在札幌有好幾家分店，我們這次去的是離達摩總店不遠的一家分店，店面就在地下鐵車站裡，非常適合上班族下班後小酌幾杯，而且每份串燒都好吃的不得了！
