Sumatakyo Gorge (寸又峑) is located in the town of Kawanehon in the Shizuoka prefecture. The gorge is a popular hiking destination because of its abundance of natural beauty, especially during the fall foliage. It is also well-known for its hot springs, and there are plenty of Onsen hotels and facilities where you can stay the night.

The bridge is situated in the Sumatakyo Gorge, which is accessible from the Sumatakyo Onsen resort area and features a number of hiking trails. The hike from the resort area to the bridge takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Bus transportation is available from Senzu station (Oigawa railway) to the resort.

The 90-meter suspension bridge that spans the azure lake at Sumatakyo Gorge is its most alluring feature. It was a dam that created this lovely lake. The bridge gained the nickname “Dream Suspension Bridge” (Yumeno Tsurihashi) due to its unreal beauty.

The wooden bridge wobbles as you walk across its narrow, thin wooden plate, making it an exciting experience to cross. There is a maximum of 10 passengers at a time. However, going across the bridge might be a fantastic and unique experience. During the week, early morning is the best time to visit because it is less crowded.
