This was my first time shooting in the low light mode of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Low-light mode has a maximum frame rate of 30FPS, so I had not used this mode until now, as I was focused on 4K 60FPS.
My impression of the low-light mode is that, compared to the normal 4K 60FPS, details, for example, in the leaves of a gingko tree, appear much clearer. Also, my personal feeling is that the image is more vivid, for example, the sky at dusk.
On the other hand, the bad thing is that the overall image is quite dark; I had set the ISO sensitivity to a maximum of 800, which is not enough in dark places; you need to set it to 1600 or higher. This was a bit surprising to me, as I had thought that the low-light mode was supposed to produce a clean image even in dark places.
Also, the reduced frame rate causes a lot of camera shake. This can be remedied by moving the camera slowly and carefully, but it deviates somewhat from natural camera work.
We will continue to experiment with night photography in low-light mode and hope to share the best settings with you.
