When I was early in my college experience, a little undecided, my family encouraged me to explore Real Estate, So I took a course offered in the city nearby. I now wish I had pursued it a little further after receiving my Certificate…. It would have been good to have more experience in the legal aspects of Real Estate. Thanks for a terrific Interview!
The information is very good. One clarification that should be pointed out to future expats is the distinction between home buying for foreigners and Mexican citizens that work in Mexico. Most middle income and lower income Mexicans use their Infonavit credits as a down payment to buy a home. Since foreigners do not have Infonavit credits they have to use cash for a down payment. That is one reason why there is less multifamily development in Mexico because even lower income families can afford to buy a small modest house through their Infonavit account. Family unity is another reason why there is less multifamily development in Mexico. Usually people move out of their parents' home once they get married.
Excellent Ernie, will keep SMA on my list of possible future homes!
Good information, thank you, Ernie, David, and Rosie. I was surprised that you can purchase a home with a tourist visa!
