Pluses:
Great experience. Very good Japanese (fantastic) breakfast, (full western breakfast available too), a great onsen and very friendly staff. We got a huge room (half western, half Japanese). Very convenient near the cable car. Perfect for the Hakone round trip
The hotel is conveniently located and easily accessible by the Gora cable car. After alighting at Naka Gora station, it is a 5 minutes walk to the Ryokan. We are welcomed by a tastefully decorated lobby. Footwear is not permitted within the hotel and socks are provided free of charge.
We were a group of 3 friends and stayed in a good size room with private onsen and open air bath. We opted for half board and breakfast & dinner were included. The dinner was a 6 course Japanese fusion. Though the portion appears small but quite intricately prepared and it was sufficient overall.
The public onsen though relatively small in size, consists of both indoor and outdoor ones. We enjoyed the outdoor one as it was pleasant with the combination of external cold temperature and the hot onsen.
Minuses:
As there were only 2 beds, one of us (me) had to sleep on the futon on the floor. From where I slept, there was a kind of stench from the toilet located in the next room. I had to change the location where I slept in the middle of the night when I realised where the stench came from.
