The Trans-Labrador Highway is a legendary road though remote, vast Canadian region of Labrador. No phone reception, petrol stations spread up to 400km apart, and hardly any vehicles passing by — no wonder it’s one of the loneliest roads in the world. These days the road is now tarmacked all the way, but yet I still managed to find a way to get stuck.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don’t know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I’m raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously: https://gogetfunding.com/arewethereyet/

👍Well Done , Will power and strength win’s the day 👍💪
Are you planning to come to British Columbia???🤔🤔🤔🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Milk bottle for gas? wow. Your micro-phone is muffled, making your commentary quite difficult to understand. The scenery is spectacular. Cheers
WOULD PLACING CUT BRANCHES UNDER THE BACK WHEEL IMPROVE TRACTION ??
Can I ask a silly question? After you laid the bike down the first time and filled the hole, why did you try to continue uphill? Would it have been better to roll the bike down hill towards that little house where it looked flatter and pick a different line out of there?
Привет! Ты очень сильная и смелая девушка. В Канаде, как в Сибири те же комары, мухи и пауты. Удачи тебе в твоих путешествиях.
Loaded motorcycle lifting in the countryside does not look that fun. But you did it! You do heavily test those lone riders bags 🙂
You don't seem to have any kind of lock on them. Do you have special care when visiting a city so that people don't help themselves in your stuff?
Great rescue idea. You can see your adventure experience. Never lose patience. But those annoying flies… Cheers from Nürnberg/Germany, Günter
👍👏👏👏👏✌️🇪🇦
I had an Inreach when I did that road, but did check on the Sat phone option, only to discover that they only have a few, and they were all loaned out! 🙂
I also found that the gravel pits, for the highways maintenance, in Labrador and in Newfoundland were great places to camp and be reasonably hidden.
Ohhhh………watching Kinga repeatedly struggling to pick up Chillie while trying to escape the gravel pit made my back hurt in sympathy………………….so I offer a little tip that enabled me to escape from a Saskatchewan salt pan and it works just as well in sand and gravel!
First – get off the bike – it lightens the load and reduces how deeply it will be stuck………….
Second – stand on the left side where you can reach throttle, clutch and gear shift……….
Start the bike and put it into 1st gear and slowly feed in clutch and gas……………….
At the same time – start pushing on the handle bars as hard as you can……………..
This combination of lighter bike and pushing will get you quickly out of many awkward situations without the bother of having to keep picking up your 500 pound bike!
The best video, I've found, on picking up a (especially HEAVY) bike is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4NFXz8Y73c&list=WL&index=6
Even though it wouldn't roll in that situation, if you put it in 1st gear before lifting, it won't roll more than an inch or so … on more solid surfaces. Bending forward toward the seat and trying to pick it up is asking for back injury.
In deep sand, there's less torque multiplication, starting in 2nd gear … making digging a hole under the rear tire less likely. Better luck, next time.
I Isially your TOUR ACCESSED
GOOD LUCK 👍👍👍
Which tires dou u take 4 this trips?
I’m glad you enjoyed that trip. I did the Trans-Labrador Hwy in 1993 from Labrador City to Goose Bay and back to Lab City on a mountain bike when the road was entirely on gravel, it was a great trip , did it in July and was lucky it didn’t rain at all😊 wish you safe travels 😎
i wish she add maps to her travels esp Labrador and Quebec
Love all the videos
It finally dawned on me. She is from Australia, that’s why she was unfazed by the swarms of flies. 😂
YAY You!!!
Well done!! It is such a chore getting the bike unstuck. Congratulations and way to keep at it!!
