We are back with another video from Japan! This time we are taking you through our ULTIMATE 5-day itinerary to Tokyo. This huge metropolis has so much to offer: from skyscrapers and modern architecture to traditional neighbourhoods and exquisite food, Tokyo left us wanting to come back for more!

Day 1 (arrived in the evening):
– Omoide Yokocho: narrow alleys in the heart of Sinjuku with a wide collection of yakitori restaurants

Day 2 (half day)
– Standing sushi at Uogashi Nihonichi Standing Sushi Bar: insanely good sushi and of course a unique experience to have it standing
– Tokyo tower: best place for panoramic views of the city
– Shibuya crossing: where crossing is possible to all directions
– Golden Gai: area with tiny bars, each one having a unique style

Day 3 (full day)
– Meiji-jingu shrine: immerse yourself in the calmness of this shrine and the surrounding gardens
– Takeshita-dori street: vibrant street in the heart of Harajuku full of souvenir and interesting clothing stores
– Dog cafe: play with cute little doggos
– Maisen Tonkatsu: the best tonkatsu meal in an old bath house building
– Omotesando: upscale shopping street with contemporary architecture
– Akihabara: heaven for anime, manga and video games lovers
– Maid cafe: certainly an interesting experience
– Kyushu Jangara Ramen: one of the most popular restaurants for Tonkotsu ramen

Day 4 (day trip to Hakone)
– 2 travel options by train:
1. Romance car (train): leaves from Sinjuku station and arrived directly yo Hakone in 90mins
2. Shinkanshen to Odawara, where you change to the local train that takes you to Hakone
– Owakudani: volcanic valley. Try the famous owakudani curry
– Lake Ashi: formed in the caldera of Mt Hakone. Great views of Mt Fuji on clear days
– Hakone shrine: great photo spot if your patience can withstand looooong queues
– Hakone yuryo onsen: amazing onsen experience

Day 5 (full day)
– Senso-ji temple: the most prominent and crowded temple in Tokyo
– Lunch of Misojyu: amazing onigiri and soups
– Yanesen: stroll around this traditional and atmospheric neighbourhood that is left in a different decade. Pro tip: recharge at Kayaba coffee
– Ginza: visit the most famous shopping street in Tokyo

Day 6 (half day)
– TeamLab Borderless exhibition: interactive and immersive experience where art meets technology and nature
