We’ve traveled from the vibrant streets of India, savoring the sweet and creamy Mango Lassi, then hopped over to the sun-kissed beaches of Brazil for the refreshing Açai Bowl. We’ve tasted the spicy twist of the Papaya-banana smoothie in the heart of Mexico, and soaked up the tropical vibes of Hawaii with the Tropical Green Smoothie (talk about “smoothies for weight loss”). Finally, we found ourselves in the historic landscapes of Greece, delighting in the cool Minty Cucumber Smoothie.
Each of these smoothies, with their unique blend of ingredients and preparation techniques, tell a story of their birthplace, offering a taste of the world’s diversity in a glass.

============= DESTINATIONS and SMOOTHIE RECIPES ============
1. Mango Lassi – this is the answer to the Indian summer! Here we are at a beach bar in Goa, India. The secret to this fruity drink? A ripe mango, yogurt, a pinch of cardamom and of course: sunshine!
RECIPE:
Mango Lassi (India):
Ingredients:
1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
1 cup yogurt
2 tbsp sugar or honey (to taste)
A pinch of cardamom
Preparation:
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Sprinkle with cardamom and serve chilled.
2. Welcome to a beach bar in Rio de Janeiro! Here we are served an açai bowl that is not only delicious but also healthy. Frozen açai berries, banana, coconut milk and all the wonderful toppings – granola, fresh fruit, coconut flakes and nuts. It’s a carnival for the taste buds!
RECIPE:
Açai Bowl (Brazil):
Ingredients:
Frozen açai berry puree
banana
Coconut milk or juice
Toppings: Granola, fresh fruits, coconut flakes, nuts, honey
Preparation:
Mix the açai puree, banana and liquid until a creamy consistency is achieved. Arrange in a bowl and garnish with the toppings.
3. We’re at a beach bar in Cancún, Mexico, where we’re being served a refreshing papaya-banana smoothie. Ripe papaya, bananas, fresh lime juice and – for those who like it – a pinch of cayenne pepper for a fiery kick! This is summer in a glass.

Papaya-banana smoothie (Mexico):
Ingredients:
1 ripe papaya, peeled and seeded
2 bananas
Juice of one lime
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for a slight spiciness)
Preparation:
Add papaya, bananas, lime juice and cayenne pepper (if desired) to blender and blend until smooth.
4. Aloha! Here in Hawaii on a paradisiacal beach we are served the Tropical Green Smoothie. Fresh spinach, pineapple, coconut milk, banana and mango – a smoothie that will take you on the waves of taste explosion!

Tropical Green Smoothie (Hawaii, USA):
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh spinach
1 cup pineapple chunks
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 banana
1/2 cup fresh mango
Preparation:
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until desired consistency.
5. In Greece, on a picturesque beach, we enjoy a refreshing Minty Cucumber Smoothie for weight loss. Cucumber, Greek yogurt, lemon juice and a hint of mint – a sip of fresh Mediterranean breeze.
RECIPE:
Minty Cucumber Smoothie (Greece):
Ingredients:
1 cucumber, peeled and diced
1 cup Greek yogurt
Juice of 1 lemon
Some fresh mint leaves
honey to taste
Preparation:
Puree the cucumber, yogurt, lemon juice and mint leaves in a blender. Sweeten with honey to taste and enjoy chilled.

Which smoothies do you like the most?
I prefer to start the day with a green smoothie sometimes, made from a variety of ingredients (spinach is always there, and also local wild herbs!) for a healthy breakfast.
But at dinner in the restaurant, there is often mango lassi on the table while we wait for the food… So delicious!! 🥰 😋.
